Firearm Description

Small, light, accurate and powerful: The GLOCK 27 is the backup weapon for all situations. Because of its comfortable dimensions and the known advantages of the GLOCK pistol family it is very popular by police on patrol duty, which is why many law enforcement agencies issue this subcompact .40 pistol also as an official backup pistol.

  1. Great carry gun with enough power to do the job Review by Mike Moses

This is my favorite carry gun. It becomes almost invisible after a very short time wearing it in an IWB crossbreed holster. Very comfortable. Very accurate once you get used to it in the 40 cal round. Never an issue with operation. Can also be carried as a back-up to my Glock 23 and will use the 23 magazine with no issues for increased capacity. (Posted on 4/27/14)

Pros: Shoots everything I feed, Accurate, High capacity, Simple Design, Easy to maintain, Easy to shoot well, Ergonomical, Lightweight, Fits very nicely in my hand, Reliable, Easy to Use, Easy to conceal, Hi Cap Mags

love this gun. it's small size is what sets it apart, along with the fact that its a glock. 40 cal is a great all around round if you like shooting a bigger bullet than 9 mm than u will eat it up at the range. a c c u r a t e (Posted on 4/23/12)

  3. Excellent concealed carry pistol Review by Rodney

I've carried my Glock 27 for six years, it's easy to conceal, has enough power for any situation and it's extremely reliable. Never in over 1000 rounds of different ammo has it failed to feed. I bet my life on it every time I leave home. (Posted on 12/10/11)

  4. glock 27 has its place as an open carry Review by davidflyfish

I'm not an officer; just reg guy who travels a lot and does outdoors\eep woods sports alone or with girlfriend.
Its a quality gun in a powerful .40 cal. I carry it when deep woods hiking and flyfishing. I've twice instantly stopped a couple angry animals with it, so it does its job well for me. It also makes a great pistol for carrying to out of town hotels, unknown dark parking lots etc.
Its not a range toy; its recoil takes you off target quickly and frankly, I'm terribly inaccurate with it on a paper bullseye unlike my target fun Taurus PT92. But its accurate enough for real life use, which is an on-target two shots max .
Mag options give you plenty of grip extension so I see no advantage in the larger .40 cal glock 23 (I sometimes use the 23 mag with the 27 adapter).
Nights sights allow you to finding the pistol in the dark: example on a dark nightstand or tent.
Though its length and height are short, its bulky thickness and weight make it an open carry only pistol for me (unless winter coat). Also, I don't trust its absence of external safety (and no chamber indicator) features at all in a warm weather deep conceal situation. I'm sure those are pluses for better trained police and also non moving desk jobs. But a bulky, wanting-to-fire, partially cocked, light trigger, loaded gun banging around my body parts is not for hiking and outdoors sport use- it needs a good open carry holster.

It missfeeds often with the glock 23 magazine, but that may be the mag. It never missfeeds with the orig 27 mag.
It cleans easy. Others complain that its too powerful of recoil but I don't think so (unless your wrists are not very strong or if your job requires you to pull off the whole mag rapid fire in a bullseye)...issue is just that double taps are further apart...and recoil takes my triple tap off the bullseye. But one accurate first shot is all I've needed with a .40. You can do that easily and reliably with the glock 27 with its original mag.
