Firearm Description

The Model 1100 Sporting Series has four gagues to choose from. Designed to meet any need for the competitive shooter to not only shoot good, but look good too.

The Model 1100 Sporting 12 provides timeless good looks in a light-recoiling sporting clays gun. It features a polished blue receiver and 28-inch light target contoured vent rib barrel with twin bead target sights. The American walnut stock and fore-end display cut checkering with a high-gloss finish and a sporting clays style recoil pad. The Model 1100 Sporting 12 also offers a gold-plated trigger, as well as four extended choke tubes: Skeet, Improved Cylinder, Light Modified and Modified.

There are those shooters for whom the 20-gauge is the ideal recipe of propellant, payload, and power. Many skeet shooters even use the 20-gauge in 12-gauge events because of its reduced recoil. And as a Sporting Clays gun, it represents a great combination of pattern density and pellet energy to grind up targets in even the most difficult presentations. Our Model 1100 Sporting has a tournament-grade American walnut stock with gloss finish and includes a sporting-style recoil pad. The 28-inch vent rib barrel comes with four interchangeable Rem™ Choke tubes in Skeet, Improved Cylinder, Light Modified, and Modified.

For 28-gauge sporting clays competition Remington offers what many competitors believe to be the finest 28-gauge clay target gun ever made—the Model 1100 Sporting 28. As with all members of the Remington line of sporting shotguns, this 28-gauge shotgun is finely crafted with a semi-fancy American walnut stock and fore-end enhanced with cut checkering and beautiful high gloss finish. Complimenting the handsome wood stock is a high polished, deep blue finish on all exposed metal, and a gold plated trigger. This 28-gauge autoloader features a 27-inch vent rib, Rem™ Choke barrel that provides better balance ands smooth handling for target shooting. The barrel comes equipped with standard twin bead sights, and four interchangeable Rem™ Choke tubes in Skeet, Improved Cylinder, Light Modified, and Modified.

Rounding out the Remington family of sporting shotguns is the Model 1100 Sporting 410 —the only autoloading .410 bore shotgun available on the market today. The Model 1100 Sporting 410 features a 27-inch vent rib, Rem™ Choke barrel for better balance and smooth handling in the quick paced world of clay target sports. The stock and fore-end are crafted of semi-fancy American walnut enhanced with a high gloss finish and crisp cut checkering. Complimenting the handsome wood stock is a high polished, deep blue finish on all exposed metal, and a gold plated trigger. This .410 bore autoloader comes equipped with standard twin bead sights, and four interchangeable Rem™ Choke tubes in Skeet, Improved Cylinder, Modified, and Full.

  1. Great Shooting Gun, but Declining Quality Review by Mack Adams

I've owned several old and new 1100's and the old ones were the guns you wish you would have never gotten rid of. However, I've had two brand new 1100's break within the first 20 shots for each one while using light target loads. When sent back to the factory for repairs, it was a six month process....they must have a lot of repairs to do! These guns shoot great, when working properly, but I'm afraid I would have to recommend Browning, Benelli, or Beretta to ensure reliability. (Posted on 12/3/10)

Pros: Shoots everything I feed, Easy to shoot well, Nice Recoil, Ergonomical, Lightweight, Fits very nicely in my hand, Easy to Use
    Cons: Expensive, Hard to clean

  2. plenty good Review by randy beard

perhaps the 1100 is an older design, and it is a task to clean it well, but almost everybody in the world can break targets and get birds with them. the beretta and benelli are probably better designed, but the 1100 just fits almost everybody. if it breaks, it is easy to get fixed (or do it yourself). the guns are wildly popular and parts and service are widely available. the cost is reasonable. the wood is much prettier than the competition (if you like gloss). points naturally. made in the good ol' USA. what is not to like??
