  1. A great looking and shooting rifle Review by Chris Lee

I topped my 30-06 B78 with a Zeiss 3x9 Conquest scope. I set a target at 50 yards for initial sighting in and the first 10 break in rounds. I cleaned the barrel between each round for the first ten rounds and was pleasantly suprised to find all ten round made a single ragged hole. I moved the target to 100 yard and fired five 3 shot groups, cleaning between groups. All 5 groups were well under 3/4 of an inch, Imoved the target to 200 yards and fired two five shot groups. 8 shots were in one ragged hole and two opened the group to just und 1 inch. Unlike earlier B78s, this one has a trigger to rival my Sako 85., crisp, light and a slight amount of overtravel. All shooting was done from a lead-sled rest. I spent a couple hours rubbing out the stock with Birchwood Casey's Stock Sheen and now have a new favorite rifle. (Posted on 10/27/10)

  2. PROUD TO OWN THIS OUTSTANDING RIFLE Review by MAJOR DONALD HAYES SLOAN

AN EXCELLENT SINGLE SHOT. COMPARES FAVORABLY TO A DAKOTA MODEL 10; BUT FAR LESS EXPENSIVE AND FAR LESS FINICKY. THE TRIGGER IS ABOVE AVERAGE, BUT NOT A JEWELL TRIGGER. IF YOU ENJOY SHOOTING ACCURATELY, YOU WILL LOVE THIS SIMPLE SINGLE SHOT. THERE IS A POWERFUL URGE TO OWN MORE THAN ONE. (Posted on 11/12/11)

Pros: Accurate, Simple Design, Easy to maintain, Easy to shoot well, Nice Recoil, Ergonomical, Fits very nicely in my hand, Reliable, Easy to Use

  3. Very accurate, high gloss finish quality rifle Review by John

I have a B78 in 30-06 topped by a medium priced Redfield scope in Leupold mounts. Shoots 5 shot groups well under 3/4 inch and better most times. Loves H-380 reloads with 180 grain Hornady BTSP bullets. Deep blued finish and high gloss monte carlo stock. Not a traditional highwall setup, but hard to argue with the total package. The more I shoot it, the better I like it. (Posted on 12/18/11)

Pros: Shoots everything I feed, Accurate, Easy to maintain, Reliable
    Cons: Weight

223 is my current B78(1885). Shoots lights out with 53gr and some 52gr. I didn't break in the barrel as most would. Preshooting
ran a 22 bore snake viper through the barrel a couple of times using a solvent lubricant. Polished it added the mount and rings included then scope. Range started on 50 shot 20 took it home used a bore rod with solvent then used copper cleaner left it on for 30 minutes. cleaned it all out again. this is my normal cleaning method. My rifle shoots great, and I hope they last a long time. It pin driver. I have a B78 30-06 in the mail (Posted on 5/8/14)
