Mossberg's 500® pump-action shotguns offer an amazing amount of gun for an unbeatable price. First and foremost, the 500® is built to the same uncompromising mil-specs as the renowned Mossberg® 590®. Then a host of features are introduced - Quiet Carry™ dual-action bars, 3" chambers and an ambidextrous safety, to name a few. Some models also include factory-ported barrels; the industry's first fully-rifled slug barrel and our Trophy Slugster™. A simple change of barrel and/or choke tubes is all that's required to take one shotgun from upland birds to waterfowl, to turkey, to deer.

Good Deer Hunting Gun Review by John
Quality Price Value I bought the 500 last year as a cheap slug gun for deer hunting in Iowa. I wanted a gun that I could take trough the brush and not worry about scratches and for the price I am very happy with it. It is a little picky on the ammo, I had good luck with federal. This is a good rugged shotgun. (Posted on 8/1/11)

Quality Price Value This gun is the best money can buy for us blue collar guys and gals. I use it for everthing from doves to deer and dont have to change barrels or chokes. My family has always shot the 500 and has served us all flawlessiy. (Posted on 4/12/11)
