Firearm Description

The SIG SAUER® P226® is the pistol that set the standard by which all other combat handguns are measured. Designed as SIG’s entrant in the military trials to replace the 1911, today the P226 is in use by the U.S. Navy SEALs, Federal agents, and numerous law enforcement agencies including the Texas Rangers, Ohio State Highway Patrol and the Michigan State Police to name a few. The exceptional ergonomics and balance make this full-size pistol easy to handle. Available in either 9mm, .357 SIG or .40 S&W, its longer barrel yields better ballistic performance and accuracy.

I like the first one I bought that I bought a second one. An outstanding pistol in every regard. The first I have kept completely stock and have added aftermarket items to the second one. SRT, XS Big Dot sights and E2 grips. I plan on buying a P226 MK 25 next. Sigs are expensive, but well worth the price. I would bet my life on any of the (5) Sig that I own (and shoot). Bought pistol used in 2008, I have shot thousands of hot reloaded rounds through the gun with no issues. Built like a tank, so I you run out of rounds you could very easily knock someone out with it. (Posted on 5/10/14)

Pros: Shoots everything I feed, Accurate, High capacity, Simple Design, Easy to maintain, Easy to shoot well, Nice Recoil, Ergonomical, Fits very nicely in my hand, Reliable, Easy to Use
    Cons: Expensive

The older model i own is a solid hunk of German steel. Clearly a weapon not a sport gear, this is my range gun and gets more shots than all my other guns combined. I shoot 9mm and .22 l.r. with my Sig .22 conversion kit. Sig provides good customer service. I added a Nills grip for looks but it still looks like an industrial strength tank gun. I love it (in a good way). (Posted on 5/3/12)

Pros: Shoots everything I feed, Accurate, High capacity, Easy to maintain, Easy to shoot well, Nice Recoil, Reliable, Hi Cap Mags
