1. GI-Edition Rock Island Armory. This is my favorite 1911 of all time, and it's also one of the cheapest. From the wooden grips to the very tiny sights, it's a bare-bones model to the core. It's not sophisticated, and that's why I like it.
2. ATI FXH-45 Moxie. The ATI FXH-45 Moxie is a low-cost 1911 alternative. To save weight, it has a polymer frame rather than the typical metal frame found in 1911s.
3. Girsan MC1911 SC Ultimate. With the coolest grips, the Girsan is the best of both worlds. G-10 material is used for the grips, and a clear window allows you to see how much ammo you have left.
4. Tisas 1911 Carry. The Tisa 1911 Carry is a stainless 1911 that is easy to carry and has a lot of added features. You receive beautiful, easy-to-see Novak-style sights that can be swapped out for alternative sights if desired.
5. ATI GSG 1911-22. This little fella is a simple blowback pistol that, if maintained clean, tends to cycle reliably. They're also usually quite reasonably priced.

12. Colt Mustang Pocketlite .380. The Pocketlite has a polymer frame and is a blowback-operated pistol, unlike the standard 1911. It works, and it's compact and dependable. The Pocketlite.380 is a teeny-tiny gun that's meant to be concealed.
