This is a list of currently in service contemporary assault weapons.

1. FN SCAR.
The famed Belgian Fabrique Nationale designed the FN SCAR modular assault rifle to fulfill the demands of the US Special Operations Command (US SOCOM). The first deliveries were made in 2009. It is currently utilized in 20 nations all around the world. This weapon is frequently found in the hands of special forces and elite police forces.

6. AK-47. The AK-47, often known as the Kalashnikov, is a gas-operated 7.62mm assault rifle designed by Mikhail Kalashnikov in the Soviet Union during WWII. It is the forerunner of the Kalashnikov rifle (or "AK") family of weapons.

7. Heckler & Koch HK416. In the 1990s, Heckler & Koch created the HK416 assault rifle to satisfy the needs of the US Army's Delta Force. It's an enhanced variant of the M4 carbine, which the US military uses extensively. The HK416 is, on the other hand, designed and modified independently. The HK416 is now in use in over 20 nations, primarily by special forces and police enforcement agencies.

8. IWI Tavor 7. The IWI Tavor 7 is a bullpup battle rifle created and manufactured by Israel Weapon Industries (IWI) as part of the Tavor rifle family. It is chambered in 7.62×51mm NATO cartridge.  It's an ambidextrous weapon in every way.

9. AK-103. The assault rifles in the AK-100 series evolved from the AK-74M, which is widely utilized by the Russian Army and many other countries. These assault rifles are technically comparable to the renowned AK-47, but they are built using upgraded production technology and new materials.

10. SIG SG 550. Since 1986, the SIG SG 550 has been in production. The Swiss Army accepted it as a standard issue combat rifle in 1990. It has been distributed to over 20 countries. Elite and special forces units are the most likely to adopt it. Over 600,000 of these assault rifles have been manufactured. The design of this weapon is traditional. It's a gas-powered weapon that fires selectively.
