  • Quickies - the original Beretta 92 (not 92FS or M9)
It has a step slide which is pretty attractive, it has a raised portion on the slide, fragmented safety . The magazine release is kind of unique, the shape of the trigger guard is different doesn't have the sort of the s...callops grip serrations. The sights both of them are fixed, the guns accurate and the sights are set up fine. The front sight is pretty small and dark. It's an all-metal gun, it's a blued finish. more

  • Optimizing the Beretta 92 for Self-Defense
It is one of the most reliable handguns on the market. It is incredibly accurate, the trigger pull is smooth and easy to manage without compromising safety or primer ignition. The slide mount of safety is not very user f...riendly it's awkward to use. You can carry this gun with a safety in the fire position and is still completely safe. Other issue of some people with this gun is the large grip. It has a light rail, removable front sight and more aggressive grip texture. more

  • Gun Review: Beretta 92A1 (Civilian M9A1)
Probably the best looking modern combat pistol around, rivaling even the much-loved 1911. Fantastic ergonomics, near as good as my XDm pistols. The pistol points well and comes to target quickly. It has a rail, but so do... a lot of pistols. If you’re going to use this pistol as your CCW, find a nice, sturdy holster. If new owners prefer, get some tritium-lamped sights. Accuracy with all loads was excellent. The Federal 124-gr grouped the tightest hand-held at 33 feet. Both the 124-gr +P and the 147-gr PDX1 ammo performed flawlessly. Throughout the day, not a single FTL, FTF, or FTE occurred, limiting my ability to make a conclusive statement as to whether or not the open-top slide actually makes clearing jams easier. Plain and simple. more

Beretta 92 is considered to be a large handguns its a 8 1/2 inches long. This Beretta is in a leather holster, it got a good height and grip and it works very well. • Beretta 92: World’s Most Reliable Semi-Auto Pistol?
The Beretta 92 has been effectively serving in the United States Military since 1985 when it was officially adopted. I believe the Beretta 92 to be the most reliable semi-automatic pistol on the planet. Even with the hea...viest +P+ 9mm loads, the 92 is a low-recoiling handgun. It is very easy to keep on target. The trigger pull is set up in a double action (like a double action revolver) first shot sequence. The safety/de-cocker lever on the slide is also a safety plus, although not everyone uses it to its full advantage. The firing position of the safety lever is up. more

    The best shooter for beginners.
This was my first purchased gun. The recoil is light and is easy to handle. I'm no pro by any means but I do hit center mass approximately 90% of the time

Looks, performance, reliability - great value!
I bought this gun late last year. I would definitely buy it again and recommend it to a friend. It's an awesome gun, very accurate. Easy to disassemble and clean. I've upgraded the hammer spring (D spring) and installed ...a steel trigger that was part of a kit. If you're not mechanically inclined - have a gunsmith install the trigger as it's very tricky to do (2 springs are involved in the final installation step). I also added thin Wilson Combat grips. A classic great looking handgun! more

    Amazing gun feels Great
i have one of these theyre amazing a little big and bulky hard to conceal but the extra weight helps with recoil. and it has a Longer Barrel so its a little more accurate once sighted in. its built EXTREMELY good for $70...0. comes apart VERY easily, easy to oil clean. probabaly one of the BEST guns on the market for this price range. its Near IMPOSSIBLE to stove pipe or jam because of the delayed ejection system. i would SERIOUSLY recommend this gun to you as well esp for a first Gun. more

    Highest of Quality
Issued a Colt .45 while in the Army many years ago. Went to Cabela's in 2013, looking for another Colt, but also looked at other manufacturers. Once I picked up the Beretta 92 FS (Made in Italy) I knew that was the pisto...l I wanted. It was well designed, not bulky, had a sweet grip and easy to disassemble. I added the Crimson Trace Laser Grips for good measure. That purchase was 5 years ago and am still a big fan. It's accurate as they can get (laser makes it even more so), so easy to disassemble and clean, and has never jammed. more

Beautiful workmanship, rock-solid handling of mixed ammo, never a hiccup. Have 3 Berettas & they weren't cheap, but I've never found anything else as smooth. The 92FS has the least kick or muzzle-flip of any 9mm I've... ever owned. That's big when you have arthritic wrists & shoulders. more

Good weapon for targets or a smaller person
The Beretta 92 is a solid, well made sidearm which has been issued to most of our military officers and other personnel who carry a sidearm since the 1980's. It is dependable, accurate, and reasonably easy to care for. I...'ve owned one for about 25 years and haven't had any trouble whatsoever with it. That's the good news. more

Reliability meets accuracy, comfort and stylish
When the oldest gun manufacturer finally perfected it's best-selling fire arm, all I can say is awesome!! I had the chance several years ago to shoot all the main manufacturer's in the 9mm caliber and it was the Beretta ...that instantly stood out. It was amazingly accurate followed with stylish comfort and low recoil. I was instantly hooked, enough so that I went out and purchased my first gun. How reliable? I have since shot several thousand rounds thru it with out one malfunction and with many different brands of ammo (Awesome!!). My daughter has also shot the gun with extreme accuracy and comfort that I purchased her one a year ago. She loves it. Two weeks ago I purchased the 92 series compact model and love it. I tell everyone who is in the market for a gun, shoot them all and the one that's feels the best with accuracy is the one for you, no matter the brand or cost. For me and my family it's been the Beretta 92 series. We totally recommend it. more

    Great shooter
I bought the 92A1 and have put about 500 rounds through it with no problems. Even with some cheap reloaded ammo and factory fresh it still shot the same. It is a very accurate gun and 9mm is just much cheaper than 40 cal.... Even my girlfriend likes to shoot it cause there isn't much recoil. Very easy to take down and clean and functions flawless. Whenever i go to the range this gun goes with me. I even fired some +p ammo through it and only felt a little more kick. I look forward to many more years of fun with this gun. more

Beretta 92 Vortec Inox is now my favorite handgun
I just can't get this gun to make a mistake. I never shot better with any of my many pistols or revolvers. It is a super nice light full size 9mm but it does not have excessive recoil. Crisp trigger pull but could be a l...ittle lighter. Might have to do a little work but there is nothing else to even come close to complaining about. Before I bought this gun, my favorite was the Sig Ultra and is still a close second. Next in line is the CZ75B. But the Beretta will probably stay number one. more

This is a great gun, easy to shoot, true point and shoot. This gun is verry accurate and is very customizable. I contemplated buying a 9mm for a while. Was on the fence about a 9mm. I shot my brothers M&P it was just... not enough pop for me. So I thought egh no 9mm. But the more I saw the Beretta the more I liked the looks . So I went to my local range rented one and fell in love. The gun shoots nice feels great in your hand. And it is a pretty sexy gun. I have since added new Wilson combat grips guide rod and decocker it resembles the new Wilson Combat Brigadere Beretta 9mm. Great gun I can't put it down. Would recommend this to anyone. more

    Beretta 92A1

A great Full size side arm for a woman.
I've always liked Beretta. I have found their guns to generally be built solid, and thought given to the design. The 90 series, of which I have two, are well operating firearms. More importantly the slide action is easy cock. There are too many guns out there that I just can't cock without major effort. The take down is easy and cleaning is a breeze. Another important aspect. Balance is good. It is not top heavy, and compared to other full size pistols, not heavy at all. Recoil is not bad, would love it to be minimal, but for a full size I can manage it nicely. I would love to see a new 92FS with the sweeping lines of the storm series. It would make it that much easier for a female to fit and shoot. more

    The Worst of the Worst
I have purchased Beretta 92A1 in July 2014 as my training gun. The Beretta is used by many armed forces around the world as the best side pistol. In reality, the jamming happens after each 100-150 rounds. I shot around 3...00 rounds out of new pistol. The disassembly and assembly process is the worst. The parts became loose after first disassembly and assembly.I would call Beretta and try to fix or replace my training gun. I might replace it with Glock or even Chinese Makarov. more

    Great buy
Being my first pistol purchase, I was weary to buy anything. After doing extensive research, I chose the 96A1, and I could not be happier. I have easily pumped a few thousand rounds through this puppy with not one proble...m. It's the best bang for your buck, 3 years warranty with beretta helps too. Overall I could not be happier, as a new shooter I get frustrated with not being able to be a perfect shot but I am still learning, the beretta is a challenge to shoot so at the least, bring confidence in yourself that you can master this gun and you will be in hog heaven when you do buy. more

92 Compact (Outstanding Pistol and Purchase)
Today I purchased a 92 Compact from Cabelas, and fired 150 rounds at the range, right out of the box. The 92 Compact was 'purrfect'. This is a pistol I can easily use at the range and also use as my CCW.Plus, it shoots I aim without any problems. The grip fits my medium sized hands; large hand size might not like as much. Accuracy is very, very good. Felt recoil is soft. No misfires or failures to load or eject. With the stainless steel (Inox), this pistol looks impressive too.I believe Beretta has an outstanding product here and I'm very pleased to have been able to find one before they are out of stock. Before I close, my wife found this pistol very easy to shoot too. Maybe a little heavy for the ladies. more

    92FS INOX 9MM
Well made, love the fact it is made out of steel, easy to disassemble, and recoil is minimal. Traded in PX4 Storm for this due to fact wanted longer barrel, polymer vs. steel construction, and never really fell in love w...ith Storm. PX4 also a good gun, just didn't work for me. Put 300 rounds through the new INOX in 2 days with all sorts of brand name ammo with no problems. Now to think of it, I have yet to have any Beretta pistol jam on me ever. Hesitant about rubber grips, but after holding and firing pistol, I am not going to switch them out and prefer them. 4 stars due to fact sight adjuster tool is another $130 at Beretta site, but no big deal, pretty accurate right out of box. more

    92A1 is the best
I have been a gun enthusiast since my father first taught me how to shoot when I was 6. Over the years I have shot dozens, if not hundreds, of firearms. The Beretta 92A1 is by far the finest pistol I have ever shot. It i...s comfortable to grip, recoil is all but nonexistent, and I know of no easier gun to field strip. To expound, I have average-sized hands and the gun fits perfectly in my hands. My wife has smallish hands. When she gripped the 92A1 the first time, she smiled ear to ear. When she shot it, she was downright giddy (as was I the first time I shot it). The gun handles so well. You have control over it at all times making double taps remarkably accurate. It takes less than 2 seconds to field strip the gun. No tools or quirks, just press a button, move a lever and the slide comes right off. Reassembly is even easier: slide it back on! THAT'S IT!! This is an amazing pistol. My only regret is not having bought it sooner. Oh, and I can use the same magazines in my CX4! As usual, Beretta hit a home run. more

    Worth every penny!
I was given a S&W handgun for my 20'th birthday. This pistol made me think that I was a horrible shot with 1ft 6in grouping at 25 feet. Cabelas gladly bought this handgun from me and sold me a Beretta 92a1 (includes ...accessory rail and recoil buffer). The Beretta gave me a 2½inch grouping at 25 feet out of the box. it is very easy to see why this is standard issue to our military troops. I recommend this handgun to all pistol shooters, beginner or expert, right or left handed, young or old. You will not regret your purchase. more

    Excellent Handgun
Excellent reliability. 2000 rds, no malfunctions. Safety features are great (decocker, firing pin block). Very easy to clean and maintain. It is an excellent carry weapon. I carry it everyday (good holster and loose shir...ts). The finish is very good. Provides excellent corrosion protection. It does not have ''plastic'' parts as one review suggested. The trigger and safety/decocker lever are metal overmolded with polymer. This provides corrosion protection for those parts. The recoil spring guide rod is polymer and I've not had any problems. It is truly an excellent handgun. more

    92FS INOX = Awesome
I only have abut 2000 rounds through it, but so far not a single malfunction. My wife doesn't like the large grip, but hey I have big hands, and feels like right at home. I like the long pull of the double action (remind...s me of my revolvers). After the "half cock" there's not a single hiccup, just a smooth heavy pull until it breaks. In single action the pull is short and crisp. At 25yds and 250 rounds later when I pulled all my targets down the only thing left behind was a 4" hole in cardboard backing. Really easy to clean and maintain. I usually shoot at least 5 weapons on each outing, so that's a big deal to me. more

    Overall good gun
I own several handguns and shoot regularly. I purchased the M9A1 model. I love the look and feel of the gun. I have a larger hand and the grip fits very well. Overall, the gun is a little heavy, but solid. I have about 1...K rounds through it with no FTF; factory and hand loads. The trigger pull is long. The only complaint I have is consistency with shot placement. I typically do not shoot beyond 15 yds with this gun, but have been challenged in holding acceptable shot groups. I also own a Springfield XDM 9 and HK USP 45. Both of these guns group VERY well, and consistent, at the same distance. I will not sell or trade my M9A1, looks and feels too good, but will continue to practice. I would have given the M9A1 5-stars if it were as consistent as my XDM and USP. more

After years of experience with the 92 series 9 mm this .40 S&W is a god send. I bought this gun for christmas this year. On christmas day I shot over 300 rounds of Winchester 180 gain USA loads without a hiccup. Shoo...ting single and double action from 25 yards, managed a 2 inch group in single action to a 3 to 4 inch group in 13 rounds of rapid fire. This is the best .40 S&W you can buy, and under rated because of the large frame. If you have small hands get the Ruger SP101 .357 mag (that my wife loves and a great conceal.) This Beretta will never leave my side.. more

I was excited to buy a Beretta 9millimeter. I thought it would be an awesome gun, having been used by military. It was not a good purchase. After only 100 rounds the gun loosened up beyond belief. The whole thing rattles... if you shake it. I got rid of it. more

    first fire impressions
Fired this weapon for the first time today and totally love it . Fired a full clip at 25 feet at a 6 " circle rapid fire and all hits were in the circle. Fired my glock 17 at the same size target an distance and onl...y 6 bullets placed inside the circle. The fit in my hand and the single action made the big difference . You shoot this weapon and you will own this weapon. more

In most movies, was a great gun and extremely easy to clean and reassemble. However, it was too light for me and I had a Kimber .45 that I shot better groups with bc of the weight. Everyone else shot it great but me, tha...t goes with all the light guns in our family, even the shotguns. I am 6'3'' 250, which may account for the need for a heavy gun. But I loved this gun while I had it. more

    Great gun!
I did not enjoy going to the range until I got this gun. My first simi-automatic gun was Walther PPK/s and it jammed constantly. Then I the decided to purchase a Beretta 92FS Italian made. I love the way it looks, feels,... and the best part is reliability. It even game me the motivation to resolve my PPK issue. After going through different brands of ammo I found rounds that work flawlessly in my PPK. Beretta however does not seem to be as picky with the ammo. So far every brand I've tried worked without any problems. It is also very easy to strip and clean. more

    Great Gun
I have fired well over 2000 rounds through this gun and had never had any issues. Full size gun, so it is not ideal for carry. Very accurate and relaible!!

    Good Gun
I love my Beretta 92FS. It shoots five inch groups at 25 yards and the polymer parts are high quality.

    Beretta 92 FS
I have owned this gun for about three years and I have never had a problem with accuracy or jamming. This is one of the guns that I carry when I am off duty. I am also in the military and when I was deployed to Iraq, I not have any problems with this weapon. I thoroughly enjoy shooting this pistol and there is very little recoil. more

I have the 96 (.40s&w) but has the same frame. This seems to be a highly under rated gun. Never had a problem with it for the past 4 years I've owned it. However, The grips are pretty fat for people with small hand. ...I bought Trausch grips and slimmed it down to about the size of a 1911 and made it feel like a completely different gun. more

Outstanding pistol. Accurate and reliable. Large frame so it isn't a good concealed carry weapon.
