    My favorite weapon
I purchased a PX-4 compact in January of 2018. The weapon has been my everyday carry. The said weapon has performed flawlessly with not a single misfire of any kind. It is a very accurate fire arm. Wish I could find one ...chambered in 40 cal. in the sub compact version. I trust this weapon with my life every day. You wont be sorry with this particular weapon. Remember preserve you Second Amendment rights. more

    Fantastic Pistol
I have had this gun for over a year and have been nothing but thrilled with it. No malfunctions, no issues, and beautiful craftsmanship. It is rare to fund a gun that is as good looking as it is functional but this does ...it. I replaced the factory safety with a 92fs style safety and its perfect. Highly recommend. more

    Great pistol
I bought my PX$ in 45 caliber about 10 years ago and I've never had a problem except for finding holsters. It's performed flawlessly with all kinds of ammunition, even shot shells which I carry in the chamber for snakes.... It has cycled every time and never misfired. great fit and low recoil. more

    Definitely Growing On Me
Prior to purchasing I was warned it was a bit heavy and pulled a bit. But I liked the grip and the feel so I have it. the more I put through it, the more I like it and the more comfortable I am with it. The weight become...s nothing and you grow used to anything. I recommend the full size PX4 Storm. more

I own & carry this firearm
I have had it for about 5 years now (mine is the .40S&W full frame - 14+1). I absolutely love this firearm. It's like an extension of my hand. Supremely accurate; cycles well & hasn't jammed yet (hopefully didn't... just jinx myself!); recoil manageable. I went with the full frame simply because I wanted the capacity but I won't hesitate to get either the compact or sub-compact version once I have the moolah again. I will suggest to not use Kydex holsters, though. At least not the Fobus paddle holsters. Mars the finish. Stick w/tried and true leather holsters. more

    Oh, So Sweet....
Purchased from Cabelas around a month ago. Have run 300 rounds of Win WB and a few magazines full of Speer 124g Gold Dots with no malfunctions. Impressively accurate, DA smooth/light, crisp light SA and a very nice reset.... Perfect size/config for IWB CCW. It's just awesome. Nicely done Ernest and Beretta. Don't think I've ever enjoyed a pistol as much as this one. more

    Review: Two years later
Wrote a review on the Beretta PX 4 Storm Full size two years ago and thought it was doomed to become a boat anchor. Fortunately my experience and review has improved significantly since then. I changed the original sight...s to an adjustable set, shot a LOT of ammo, and can now say it is the best handling and most accurate .40 in the gun case. The recoil is noticeably less than the typical 'snappy' personality of this caliber. Impressively, there has not been a hangup or malfunction yet to date. The bulkiness helps me keep a steady aim and balance, but its profile is not a suitable CCW for most body frames.. In sum, I am pleased to join the many others that have a five-star adventure with this firearm and would now recommend it be on your list of potential list if looking for such an item. more

    PX4 Compact Carry
I can't speak for the regular PX4 compact or the subcompact but the Langdon Compact Carry is an awesome pistol. The mechanical differences- stealth levers, competition trigger group, and front night sight make this gun a... joy to carry and shoot. The DA trigger is long but not too heavy and very smooth. The SA is light and crisp. The rotating barrel design gives a noticeable reduction in perceived recoil. Follow up shots/double taps are quick and accurate. Three 15 round mags included with this version and contrary to some internet reports, it does not come with 3 mag release buttons. Only the tall button comes on the gun. My only complaint would be the cheapo plastic case Beretta provides. If you are looking for an excellent DA/SA pistol for concealed carry you won't be disappointed. more

    My First Handgun
I went to "visit" this pistol several times before finally purchasing. After being told numerous times that maybe I should try something smaller for my first handgun, I always came back to the PX4 Storm Compact... because it just felt right! It feels good in my hand. I can grip it and hold it comfortably. I took it out today for the 2nd time...don't think I did too bad for a beginner. (target image below) more

    Subcompact ejection issue
I got a .40 PX Storm subcompact a few months ago. Really a great pistol. The only issue I have had is the magazine began failing to eject after the magazine emptied and the chamber is empty. This started after several hu...ndred rounds using three different Beretta mags. The RSO's who worked with me felt it was a mag issue and I am not that cognizant of the mechanicsI so I contacted customer service and Beretta had it picked up for a look-see. I left it in the failed position so they could see the issue first hand. I felt the gun was pretty accurate and anything off target was due to my old shaky hands or jerking the trigger rather than a nice squeeze, but after seeing some of the comments about low left (where mine seemed to alway go) I will give that another look when I get it back. more

    Nice pistol, nice fit
Having large hands it has been difficult to find a semi-auto that fits. With the optional large backstrap installed the PX4 Compact fits perfectly. It has great balance in the hand, and is a snappy compact. It took a bit... of time to make the transition from my full size semi-auto, but it has proven itself to be a reliable, accurate self-defense weapon. I find it easy to control, readily returning to original aim point after each shot. I am able to shoot rapid fire groups in the 2 1/2 range right out of the box. My wife even prefers it to her pistol, so I guess it will be back to the gun counter to make her happy as well. more

    PX4 Subcompact 9mm: NOT Reliable
Put about 700 round through it, first 350 went fine, now it is experiencing multiple double feeds, failure to go into battery etc. Also, one of the magazines was defective out of the box, needed to be modified per Berett...a instructions. Overall, very unsatisfied, will be contacting Beretta customer service. Hopefully, they fix the issue. May be ammo related as I used 115 grain, it may only like 124 or 147 grain but either way I do not want this in my collection for very long. more

Fantastic .40 cal handgun (all 3 versions)
Over the last year I have purchase all 3 varieties of the Px4 chambered in the .40 S&W. I have had the other "brick" guns over the years and these handguns are really in a different league. Not saying bette...r, but just very different. My switch to the Beretta was out of wanting something a bit more "exotic" than the usual guns out there. Sort of like comparing an Italian and German sports car. Both good and also very, very different. Also, one of my requirements is to have a safety on the gun. After experiencing a accidental discharge several years ago (long story), this is now a must on any gun that I carry concealed. The Px4 Full and Compact have a rotary barrel that really helps soften the sting of .40 as well as make the gun VERY accurate. The attached photo is my 21st shot out of the Px4 Compact at the range (the first 20 were to get the gun sighted in). Keep in mind that I am not the best shot but the 1st shot of this round I landed in the 10 ring at 30 feet. I am still grinning. The Full sized version is also as accurate. In some of the reviews I had seen some issues with reliability. In my first session with the full size version, I did have some FTF issues. However, after some research, these guns like to run wet, especially around the rotating barrel and the associated cam. I went with some high end gun grease where the barrel and cam meet and now zero failures after about 1000 rounds.I purchased the Sub-Compact version as a summer carry as the PX4's in general are somewhat larger guns. While the length and height are in line with other varieties, the gun is a bit wide. The Sub-Compact is a bit shorter and stubbier and makes for a very nice summer carry weapon. The only BIG difference is this model uses the usual tilting barrel versus the rotating one of the larger models. It is not quite as accurate or as forgiving regarding recoil. However, it is still very, very manageable. In general I can fire 200 rounds in the larger size versions and could keep going (if could afford the ammo). On the Sub-Compact about 50-75 rounds I start to feel some fatigue from the recoil. Now, why own all 3 versions? Simple. They all have the same trigger, safety and overall feel. I mean the trigger is EXACTLY the same feel, pull and break. One of the most consistent triggers across models that I have ever seen. I am now a fan of Beretta triggers and out of the box is near perfect. Very nice initial double action and extremely nice single action followup shots. Other than some variations on felt recoils, the guns feel exactly the same. I can practice with any one gun and the muscle memory will transfer to all 3 equally even though very different size guns.I highly recommend the Px4 and if I had to choose just one, I would go with the compact version in the middle as it "is just right". more

    PX4 Storm Review
I did a lot of research online before making this purchase. Since the purchase, I have shot about 200 rounds though is so far, and I am very pleased. The Default Med. Grip fit me like a glove and even if it didn’t it ca...me with two other grip sizes. The thing shoots like a dream, very low recoil for a .40 caliber (first time shooting I had tight grouping) It is breeze to take apart and clean. It has many safety features. The Double action trigger a bit long but the single action was nice . I bought it for a good priceThe only thing I did not like was that it does take a little effort to rack the slide. I understand its a 40 caliber but it’s a bit stiff I guess it’s a trade off for the light felt recoilAll in all I would highly recommend the PX4 Storm to anyone looking for a low recoil 40 cal. I like my 40 so much I’m looking at the PX4 Storm in 9mm . more

    Follow Up- Subcompact 9 mm
Couldn't wait a year, this time. Got the subcompact 9mm and am just as impressed, or more so, with its performance. Shoots smoothly and almost as accurate as my 92FS or PX4 45! More concealable and a wonderful CCW. Has a... Snapgrip extender on one magazine for a "full grip" with beefier hands. (Ordered another so I would have them on both!) I can't say enough about this pistol. This one is American made (as opposed to my Italian made 45). 13 rounds in a small package. Not having the rotating barrel gives it a little more kick but reacquisition of target is quick. Great for concealed carry with some punch! more

    Fantastic 45 - WOW
I bought this pistol, a year ago, from the fine folks at the Rapid City SD store. Have owned a 92FS for 20 years and wanted a little more punch. I first saw this pistol in a movie and was struck by its innovative look. D...id my research and decided to give it a try. WOW!!! First time at the range and it, flat out, amazed me. With the rotating barrel, the perceived recoil was no more than my 9mm 92FS. I'm not a world class shot but was shooting decent groups on my first go. I waited the year, before reviewing, to see how happy I'd be after the "newness" wore off. Man, am I happy with this pistol. Couple thousand rounds and it's still my favorite. OK for winter concealed but I need something smaller. Never fear...I've decided to pick up the Subcompact PX4 in 9mm for daily carry. Thank you Pietro Beretta! more

    Very good
I purchased the PX4 F type Compact 9mm. This gun has a great feel for me, solid, tight and good ergonomics. It's selling point for me was hammer fired, DA/SA and rotating barrel. I do not like striker fired handguns. Whe...n firing, recoil feels more controlled than other pistols of this size to me. I believe that this is a result of the moderate heft (27oz), heavier/thicker barrel and slide than the full size. Both weigh essentially the same 27oz. Don't forget....your getting a double stack if that matters, so I've compromised a little to conceal it. Shooting accuracy is good for me, I'm not an avid shooter.I purposely wanted the safety/decocker (F type) and modified the weapon for CCW quickly by converting it to a G type by purchasing the stealth levers from BrignoliArmi. It took me a short time to realize that I really don't need a safety for CCW. I absolutely love this weapon. Don't trust me or other reviews.......shoot it and decide if it's a good choice for you. more

    Bad Jammer
I bought a PX4 subcompact for my wife for christmas a couple of years ago. When I shoot the gun I have had very little problem with it, but when she shoots it it jams about every other round. I watched her shoot and due ...to the fact she has small wrist the gun rises quite a bit when she shots it so I assume this causes it to jam? We took a concelled handgun class and I shot a Glock 19 and she tried to use her Beretta. I was embarresed for her because the gun was so unreliable. In fact she took my Glock and had no problems with it. So good bye Beretta hello new glock. more

My First Beretta - Love It!!!
I purchased a Beretta Px4 Storm Compact 9mm on New Year’s Eve. The moment I got it home I couldn't wait to get to the range. Today was that day, range day. I put about 500 rounds through it and it fired flawlessly. The... main reason I decided to purchase the 9mm vs the .45cal was the cost of ammo and also my children are going to learn to shoot using this gun. My 15yo son and 18yo daughter each fired a couple of 15 round clips with no complaints from either. I highly recommend this gun for someone looking for a comfortable gun to shoot for fun and home defense.• Low Recoil• Comfortable Grip• Great Looking Gun - Sexy!• VERY EASY Breakdown for Cleaning more

    Love at first grip
I purchased the PX4 Storm in 9mm. This weapon has about 300 rounds through it now and has performed flawlessly. The PX4 feels proper when gripped. Weight is well balanced. I also purchased a Ramora holster which even wit...h this being a full size handgun is easy to conceal even in shorts and a tee shirt. I purchased the Berretta Px4 Full Size in .40 about a year ago. Have put 1500+ rounds through her thus far. No FTE or FTL issues unless loading 10+1 (Thank you CA). Excellent pistol, to handle and shoot.
Fired at the range yesterday for the first time, a dream to shoot at close range (15 feet and less.) My 1911 was much more difficult to handle, and the Baretta fired true, first shot out of the box. Using a Weaver grip, ...I actually had a hole in the center of the x ring; very comfortable, minimal recoil(certainly compared to the 1911) and a great pistol for home defense. more

    Love it
I bought the PX4 in .45 and LOVE it. Since purchasing it, I have put about 500 factory loads through it with zero misfires or feed failures. I have not tried hand loaded ammo yet, but have no doubts it will perform just ...as well. Recoil as compared to my old Army issue M1911A1 is noticeably less, and more back than up. Out of the box accuracy was outstanding at 5, 10 and 25 yards. The only Con is weight. It can be quite heavy in a shoulder holster, but to be fair it IS a .45 with 10 in the mag and one in the tube! more

    A Balance of Features
Bought this after conducting research and shooting several makes and models . Since the purchase, I have shot about 300 rounds. The following is my honest assessment:Pro:Flawless shooting; no FTFs or FTEs with both comme...rcial and hand loads.Low recoil (more back than up), that allows faster follow-up shots.A breeze to take apart, clean, and reassemble. Some say this large frame pistol is ugly, but I believe it has an intimidating look that is due in part to its "chunky" or robotic profile. The changeable grips are a bonus, especially if you have small or large hands. The decocker is an enjoyable safety feature. The price is competitive and a fair market value. more

    Full Size PX4 45
I don't go out of my way to write many reviews. As I am someone who reads a lot of reviews before I buy anything, I have to say I love this gun. For being a full size 45 caliber pistol, it is sleek and fairly slim. I use... this gun as my CCW pistol, and I am going to be joining a shooting league fairly soon. Honestly, the recoil for a 45 is great, better than several 9mm pistols I have shot. Don't get me wrong, still a decent amount of recoil - not for those with little hand strength - but the rolling chamber on this gun pushes you back similar to a shotgun, rather than snapping upwards like normal pistols. If I had any complaint at all, it would be the fact that the first fire from this dual action pistol is a long trigger pull - but that is normal for any dual action. After that, the next 8-9 rounds (depending on which of the two magazines you're using) go smooth as butter. I have not had any load problems except when I was using reloaded cartridges (which can be normal). I have fired well over 1000 rounds through the gun, and the only time I ever had a problem was my last time out where I had 4 of the reloaded cartridges not load correctly (no worries, the chamber doesn't close all the way when this happens so you won't have a misfire). It was very simple to unload the bad cartridges, also. On top of that, cleaning this gun is a 3 minute job tops, very very simple. After a little practice, at 25 feet I can hit a grouping of about 5 inches no problem. At 30-35 feet I'm about 70%. In my opinion, that is great accuracy for a handgun. The other nice thing about this gun is the option for rail sights you can buy. The laser sights, or flashlight options are limitless for this gun. Check it out, or see if your local gun shop will let you rent one. Cabelas was by far the best price for purchase though. more

I've had my PX4 Compacts to the range twice since my initial review a few days ago. Put another 150rds downrange and the only malfunction was a single round of cheap Winchester FMJ that refused to chamber fully which I a...ttribute to the ammo (loaded too long, I suspect). more

PX4 9mm Compact: Diamond In The Rough
I don't like the amount of muzzle rise on my SIG SP2022's (excellent, otherwise) so I searched for a more controllable alternative.I read about the PX4's rotating barrel and how it's supposed to reduce perceived recoil b...ut more research revealed divided opinions.I finally stumbled upon a couple of references about the PX4 Compact being more controllable than the PX4 Fullsize. Intrigued, off to Cabelas I went...After some handling, I came home with two PX4 9mm Compacts (I always have one for primary CCW/nightstand duty and one for training/backup).After a good cleaning/lubing, headed to the range with some cheap brass-cased ammo. 150rds later there were no malfunctions and a smile on my face! The PX4's recoil impulse is more straight-back with less muzzle rise (which I prefer) which results in faster followup shots for me.However, not everything's perfect...The grip needs more aggressive checkering to keep the pistol from moving around in the hand (this can be addressed in a number of ways), the safety/decocker is awkwardly slide-mounted, the SA trigger isn't bad but the DA trigger is decidedly inferior to the SIG's (but that didn't keep me from scoring as well the first time out with the PX4, which is encouraging). The different backstraps are more difficult to change than on other pistols.I don't care for safety/decockers on DA/SA pistols as I consider the safety superfluous with a DA first shot (most SIGs are DA/SA with a decocker but no manual safety). Fortunately, it's easy to convert the PX4 from the Type F safety/decocker model to the Type G decocker only (moving the lever decocks and safely drops the hammer but snaps back up to the "fire" position automatically instead of staying down in the "safe" position). The safety/decocker levers are rather large, it's easy to snag your fingers working the slide or doing malfunction drills. Again, there's an easy fix in the form of Beretta's "stealth" levers that are smaller, slimmer and automatically convert your Type F PX4 to the decocker-only Type G PX4.The PX4 Compact will not accept aftermarket night sights. The rear sight is fine but the front sight's dovetail leaves an open gap in the slide if you try to install standard PX4 aftermarket front sights. If you want night sights for your PX4 Compact you have to have the factory front sight drilled out to have a tritium vial inserted. Pricey, but at least it's doable.Bottom line is the PX4 Compact has some (correctable) issues but they weren't enough to keep the PX4 Compact from replacing my SIG SP2022 for CCW/nightstand duty.Rugged, reliable, accurate, a real diamond in the rough if you can live with its shortcomings.I give it 4.5 stars due to those shortcomings. more

    Outstanding weapon
I found the Beretta PX4 Storm 9mm to be one of the sweetest guns I have ever purchased. Ease of use, balance, and soft shooting comfort are great. It's easy to field strip and clean also. Grouping are tight and precise. ...It's also priced right. The interchangeable back straps make it easy to switch to larger or smaller hands. I would highly recommended this gun. more

    Love my .45
Bought my first handgun about a year ago. I really didn't know what i wanted for sure. Just knew i wanted reliability in my handgun. I looked at the .45 PX4 and knew it was the one. I am a big guy and the interchangeable... hand gaurds are great. The gun fits perfectly in my hands. With a loaded 10 rd magazine the weight is evenly distributed. Its easy to clean. Plus that rotating barrel technology makes the amount of kick seem like nothing at all. Love the Beretta PX4 .45ACP more

    Can't find a holster
Overall the gun is very nice. Has some plastic parts that I am worried about becoming fatigued and possibly breaking or snapping under stress, however I do love this gun. One downside is that I have yet to find a holster... for everyday carry. I have visited the manufacturers website and they do not have any in stock. Off brand manufacturers seem to make holsters designed for the full size and sub compact models but does not indicate whether or not they will be compatible with just the compact version. The decocking levers stick out a bit too much but don't offer up and ways to snag on clothing. more

    Beretta PX4 Sub-Compact 9mm
This is one of my favorites. I rarely leave the house without this one. It is easy to conceal and is an absolute joy to shoot. I chose to use this one in a tactical training class, and it was outstanding. I lucked out an...d bought mine used in near mint condition. I immediately fell in love with it. It feels comfortable in my hands (the Snap Grips are genius). I also bought a 17-rd magazine and sleeve. That makes it feel like a full-size pistol which is great for the range or a spare mag. I've shot well over 2,000 rounds in my PX4 and have never had any issues whatsoever. Clean it, load it, aim at a safe target, pull the trigger...bang...every time. I trust my life to it. I pray that I never have to use it for defense, but I have trained extensively and I know my PX4 will work if I ever need it to. more

    Pleasantly surprised
I own two Px4s so far. The full size 45acp and my carry the Px4 40S&W. I have shot many different brands of pistols and these are by far the most fun and consistent out of the box. The 45acp is easy to stay on target.... Unlike others the barrel rotates and has a locking lug system that takes a lot of the recoil away from it. The 40S$W is by far the best all around conceal carry pistol there is. It is big enough to intimidate yet ergonomically designed to conceal well. The groups I shoot are amazing considering I am disabled and can't afford to shoot as much as I would like. So if you want a great pistol of the highest quality and for a more than affordable price get the Beretta Px4. more

    Quality Pistol
The PX4 is my 3rd pistol purchase this year out of 5 I have. All are top brand names. Biggest plus for me is the easy of shooting. Very little recoil. Quality in every way. The gun fits my hand perfect. Well balanced. Ev...ery function of the pistol is solid quality. Due to ammo shortage I have only put a 100 rounds through her. Flawless in every way, very accurate out of box. Quality of gun exceeds the price. 2 of my pistol cost $100 & $250 more than the Berretta. The px4 is at least equal or better than any pistol I own. Last point is the great look of the PX4. The pistols looks as good as it performs. more

First gun, couldn't have picked a better one...
This is my first fire arm, so I did some research and looked for the gun that provided reliability and the "cool" factor. I ended up on this gun and decided on the Sub Compact in Dark Earth in .40 S&W. LOVE... THIS GUN, I seem to have dropping bullet issue but that could be because I'm just starting out and if not I don't have to compensate my aim so much that it's disorienting but I guess we'll see when I go back to add the full size I'll be getting to go with it. very fast tear down and being a "technician" I can appreciate the simplicity in maintenance of this gun.I do wish they would offer the standard full size in the dark earth color scheme as the Special Duty is over kill in bling if you will. I already have cleaning supplies and I don't care for the extended barrel on it. Either way I will be going back for the bigger brother in either .40sw or .45acp. Can't beat the look and feel and in the hands of a first time shooter, pretty accurate as far as being able to group my shots. more

    Awesome Pistol

    Comfortable, easy shooting pistol
Up until 2012 my only handgun was a .357 S&W revolver. I decided to obtain a 9mm semiauto for home protection. I researched and rented the Beretta PX4 Storm, Glock 19 and Ruger SR9c at local target ranges/gun shops f...or evaluation. After lots of deliberating I ended up buying a slightly used Ruger SR9c. I assumed the very stiff recoil spring would eventually loosen up after firing it a few times. Well, it didn't. Since I have some arthritis in my hands I begrudgingly elected to sell it and buy the Beretta. The PX4Storm is a very nice gun. My neighbor has one and I enjoyed shooting this pistol at the target ranges alot when I was still in the evaluation period. With the PX4Storm I had to get accustomed to the first-shot double action which is then single action (with very light trigger pull) on subsequent shots. I fire 114 grain PMC bronze and Magtech rounds and the gun likes them fine (lots of muzzle flash with the Magtech). No doubt my accuracy will improve over time with this gun and I always look forward to firing it. I really like the Beretta PX4Storm and plan to keep it handy for home protection for a long time. Despite my modest sized hands I changed out the backstrap with the largest one included with the gun and it feels even better. Unfortunately it's a little too large to use as a concealed carry. I also particularly like the safety of the decocking feature. And the gun is very easy to field strip and clean. I read the manual thoroughly after getting it home and disassembled it the first day I had the gun just to see how the rotating barrel feature worked. It's really quite simple to tear down to clean. You won't be sorry with this gun. more

This PX4 Storm just fit my hand better than any other full size automatic from the first time I picked it up. On...ce I got into the store to buy it, instead of just shopping, choosing between the all black and the 2 tone was the biggest problem. I chose the 2 tone. VERY NICE, MONEY WELL SPENT
The beretta PX4 Storm full size 9mm is an excellent pistol. I have put well over 800 rounds through this gun with , remington, winchester, and S&B. Only had a failure to feed three time when brand new with stiff maga...zines. They will only hold 16 till worn in. After that no issues what so ever. Very reliable. This one is my home defence weapon with a TLR-1s light on the picatiny rail fits nice and snug. Minimal wear, the finish is still like new and this gun is very easy to field strip and clean. Not sure i like the rotational barrel for recoil reduction. Accuracy is OK, i noticed i get a lot of stray bullets very low and off to the side. I do like the fact it has single or double action firing, and the replaceable backstraps. Which i was able to make fit my hand very well. I do recommend. The only thing im not happy about is the accuracy. more

I instantly liked the single action/double action trigger along with the very safe decocking mechanism. I have no problems carrying with a round in the chamber with the safety on. I've put about 1400 rounds through min and has been flawless with no misfires or jams! I would describe it like a knife through butter every time. The finger extender fits my larger hand perfectly and I use this as my Ca...rry gun. Great ergonomics and couldn't ask for a more reliable gun. My complaints would be the double action for the first pull always throws me off, so I start in single action, but even with the DA every shot after that is well-controlled. Also the sights may need adjusted after several hundred rounds and i just used a screw drive to do because the adjustment tool is expensive. Good Practical Weapon
I traded in my Taurus PT-140 to buy the PX4 Storm Compact pistol (9mm) and am not disappointed with the decision. The weapon is well made and the price reflects the performance of this weapon. The Bruniton coating that c...overs the entire slide is impressive- no smudges or fingerprints after handling. I never have to use oil or a silicone cloth on the exterior of the slide because of this, and it seems much more resistant to wear and scratches or dings. The recoil is manageable in the compact 9mm, but I fired it side by side with a Browning Hi-Power and the Hi-Power had slightly less recoil. The slide and rotating barrel seem to soak up recoil well. The magazine capacity is generous, but without the speed loader it can be VERY hard to fit the last 3 rounds into the magazines, and a fully loaded magazine requires a good push to lock it into the magazine well. The safety/decocker works well, but once while cleaning I must have managed to upset the trigger/firing pin connection because the pistol ceased to fire in double action! After taking it apart again, I fiddled with the trigger assembly and fixed it. Back to the ambidextrous de-cocker: it works well but it projects from the sides a lot and so makes for a tight fit in holsters made for similarly sized pistols like the compact glocks. The modular interchangeable grip is neat, but very difficult to change. However, once I test-fitted the different grips, the handle feels fantastic in my hand, beats the feel of a Glock compact! My only other issue was that I noticed that the back end of the plastic frame is showing some wear along the parts that are in contact with the frame during recoil. Not a huge issue but I might take a file or an exacto knife and trim the plastic slag off that is being worn. Overall, this pistol feels great, shoots accurately, and seems very robust and tactical, and for some reason reminds me of both the 92FS and the Glock series. more

    NEVER Lets Me Down
I own the sub-compact in 9mm and the full size in .40S&W. I do carry both but the 9mm is my usual carry gun, and the 40 is for home defense. With more than 2,000 rounds of a large variety of ammo thru each gun withou...t any issues ever, I feel very confident in both of these guns. I do practice tap & rack drills, but it is very unlikely I will ever need that skill with these pistols. The controls are a bit clunky from the factory but I have changed mine out for the low profile controls available from Beretta. Except for my pinky finger on the sub-compact, the feel in my hand for both guns is the same. With the right grip back-straps in place (3 sizes included), these are a perfect fit for me. more

    Awesome Weapon
The PX4 Storm fires as well as it feels. I have been extremely happy with this and the target results speak to the guns accuracy. Being able to group 10 shots in an area the size of a fist, from 10 yards is pretty impres...sive. The fact that I haven't shot a gun in 10 years punches this point home. I am extremely happy with this and would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a great semi-auto handgun. The many features are outstanding. more

    Excellent Gun
So I purchased the full size .40 S&W Type "C" model of this hand gun. Overall, I couldn't be happier with my purchase. The gun is extremely accurate, very comfortable in the hand, and most importantly, high...ly reliable. This is my go-to weapon that lives closely to my pillow. more

    A correction to the advertisement...
I have the compact version in 9mm. Readers should be aware that the compact version does NOT have the rotating barrel. The compact version uses a tilt barrel system.

    Not a bad shooter but...
This gun fires well, operates smoothly and is comfortable to shoot. There are a few minor complaints about the feel of the magazine release and the slide lock is clunky. However there is one MAJOR design flaw in the inno...vative rotating-bolt design. There is a gap in the ejection port where the bolt rotates and if anything, anything at all gets caught, the gun seizes completely. It can't even be manually cycled. It's totally jammed. If you're considering buying one, bring a rolled up bit of paper and stick it in that gap and try to cock it. It won't budge. It's a fine shooting weapon, but I wouldn't count my life on it. more

    PX4 Storm
There are many fine handguns available in this day and age. The market is full of well made guns that will fill the bill as far as accuracy, consistency and quality. It is my belief that just about any quality gun you bu...y today will give you good service. That being said, the big factor being left is how the gun fits you and your personality. The PX4 is one of those guns that fits your hand perfectly. Its perceived recoil is very low, its weight is light and balanced, its looks are killer and it's a Beretta which means the highest quality. more
