Glock 26 Gen 3 Features

The Glock 26 Gen 3 is a semi-automatic, polymer-framed pistol that operates on a Browning-style short-recoil operated action with a tilting barrel lockup.  This striker-fired pistol was designed specifically for users who want a small, concealable and controllable handgun that is dependable and simple to use.  The Glock 26 Gen3 has a polymer frame that lacks any accessory rail in exchange for increased comfort and concealability.

Glock 26 Gen 3 Capacity

The Glock 26 is chambered in 9x19mm (9mm Luger, 9mm Parabellum) and feeds from Glock-style double-stack, single-feed magazines.  The standard flush-fit magazines offer a capacity of 10 rounds, however since the geometry of the magazine well allows for the use of taller magazines, the mags from the Glock 19, 17 and 34 will fit without notable issue.  Even the extended 32 round magazines can be used.  Keep in mind to insert longer magazines gently in order to prevent damage to the ejector.

Glock 26 Gen 3 Ergonomics

Ergonomics
The Glock 26 Gen 3 offers a pistol grip large enough to accommodate the middle and ring fingers of the user while maintaining its concealability.  The control layout is identical to other Glock pistols but doesn’t include a reversible magazine release to accommodate both right- and left-handed users, though the slide has grip serrations that flank the rear sight to provide a better hold when manually cycling the action.

Glock 26 Gen 3 Fit & Finish

The Glock 26 Gen 3 is made with a fiberglass composite material for its frame and has a stainless steel slide and barrel.  Glock decided to ditch the “frying pan” Tenifer coating in favor of an nDLC coating on both the slide and barrel.  This increases the durability and damage resistance of both components and allows the user to rack the slide much better than with the old slippery coating.  nDLC doesn’t have arsenic in it, either.

Glock 26 Gen 3 Concealability

Concealability
Until the Glock 42 hit the market, the Glock 26 was the go-to option for a small, concealable Glock.  Measuring 6.42 inches long, 4.17 inches tall and 1.26 inches wide, the Glock 26 can easily be concealed in almost any position.  Due to the relatively large width of the 26, it would be smart to wear slightly-loose clothing in order to prevent the gun’s silhouette from showing through your attire.
