    Good bang for your money
Bought this Twone months ago for 339.00 purchase it after my AR 15 , I knew it only came with ten round magazines, little heavy if you decide to purchase this gun I'll tell u the truth it's ugly but as far as d...ependable u can't beat the price nice having a carbine rifle that shoots the same ammo as your handgun .as far as mags go you can purchase red ball mags they hold twenty rounds and apposed by hipoint if u used any other u void the 100 percent warranty verify this year's shot show on u tube .it's a tank good for home, truck. In regards to the sling that comes with it no good I put a one point sling awesome this is made like a tank if you can't afford a ar15 ,or don't want to spend a lot of money buy this carbine it comes in 380, 9mm, 40, and 45 I believe ugly but trustworthy last but not least made in USA more

    Great Gun and Great Price
I bought this same gun in the camo stock, I have put over 1000 rounds through it of different brands and case metals and have only had a couple hang ups and it was on steel cased bullets. The gun works flawless and the s...ites were almost right on out of the box........I guess the only complaints would be that it's a little heavy, the stock sites are a little cheesy and the spring loaded butt plate is useless, this gun has very little recoil. I have upgraded the sites to a red dot and added a forward grip and I love it. For the price there are none that even come close to it. Buy one....you will not be disappointed !!! more

After owning the Hi Point 9mm for over two years..
The Hi Point 9mm Carbine is a great gun. It rarely jams and when it does it is due to the ammo (such as being dirty or steel cased). It shoots aluminum or brass cased shells great. It has become one of my favorites like ...the dependable ones do. My small complaints are that it needs better Picatiny rails made of a metal instead of plastic and Hi Point needs to sell a double stacked magazine of at least 17 rounds. more

    Reliable shooter
Well I have to say good little rifle, 9mm is good, ammo is lower priced. Pretty accurate, even to a hundred yards. So people gripe it's a High Point, but this rifle ran very well, had two feeding issues out of 250 R...DS. and none in the next 420 RDS. Easy to sight in, too me no recoil, the only drawback is the ten round mags you can get the Redball 20rd mag's but they stick way out of the rifle, little awkward, for close quarters. But manageable! Round capacity is the only drawback. But great value. more

Hi Point 9 mm Carbine I really like this rifle. It is very accurate and has good balance. I bought it to shoot in an Action Rifle League. There are two things it needs, a bolt release and hi capacity magazines. You shoul...d not have to pull back on the bolt handle to close the action. While shooting a 24 shot course I had two mag changes to get the 24 shots needed. As I said I like this rifle. The Iron sights are excellent. Great Accuracy. Good Balance. more

Well, this little carbine turned out to be better than I expected. I purchased it just to play around with but after getting used to it I realized it can be much more. The sights are spot on for 50 yrds. which is what a ...pistol cal. carbine is for really, 50 or less. I love the feel of this one and being 5 feet six inches and about 140 lbs the ergo is perfect for me. I can drag this thing through the woods without worrying about it and it goes bang when I squeeze the trigger. 10 rounds is a tad thin for mags but I ain't war fighting with it anyway. BTY, wars have been fought with single shot weapons. I like it. more

I've had this carbine for a week now. Seems everybody makes fun of High Point and the people who like/love them. Let me tell you as a Marine Corps Veteran and an expert rifle marksman. I gave this weapon hell. I put appr...oximately 500 rounds of every type of 9mm I had laying around, from the cheapest steel cased polymer coated crappy plinking ammo to some decent home defense hollowpoints. Out of all that, I had one FTF and that was because the bullet was seated in the casing crooked and I didn't notice it while loading the mag. Let me tell you, this is one fun weapon to shoot, I really enjoy it. The only drawback is the 6 round magazine capacity. It was inexpensive and from what can tell from field stripping it, it is made very well, maybe not of the highest quality components but you get what you pay for and hey, it has a lifetime transferable warranty. I will add a few aftermarket accessories to it and it will make a solidly enjoyable practice plinker that I am certainly glad that I added to my cache. Buy yourself one, you won't regret it, even if you have to take a little ribbing from your buddies at the range. more

this is my second 995, I traded my first to do an upgrade on a new rifle. I enjoyed the first so much I decided to get a new one one. I like the skeleton stock and rails, definitely an upgrade over the earlier model. the... sights are good though I prefer my red dot...eyes are getting old. the 995 is super accurate, nice groups at 75 yards. The mag is snug and I have had no problem with any brand of ammo. Light to carry and with the red dot fast on target. Might have to a one in .40...just cause. Bud's is great! Never a problem with shipping etc. I highly recommend the 995 and Bud's. more

Other than that, The operation is smoo...th & accuracy is on point. My handguns are 9mm so it helps being the same caliber. Fun to shoot and damn near doesn't miss! Highly customizable too. This arrived much slower then the rest of the order coming ground form Indiana, however still within the normal 10 business days. The rifle is heavy and bulky but serviceable. I have not had the chance to shoot this yet ...but I have found normal devices (unlike the pistols) fit this such as a UNI Bi pod and standard red dot. The rifle feels good in the hands and points very well looking down the stock ring sites gives a very nice aim picture and the lines of the rifle really point well as well. If this breaks in like my C9 I will be very happy with it. more

Awesome inexpensive carbine that is a blast to shoot. So far, 300 plus rounds no jams, FTF, or FTE. Amazingly accurate at 50 yards standing. Peep hole sight very easy to align target and IMO easier to aim then open sight...s. I bought 3 additional Hi Point magazines and all worked flawlessly the first time. I did pre load the magazines to break in springs several days before using them. Bud's was very good experience with exception Bud's was extremely slow to clear the electronic check which should be instantaneously so I am very puzzled why the multiple day delay. This delay also means you wait about 5 to 6 days before the item ever ships. So don't expect speedy service. Maybe credit card purchases process faster but you do not get the lower same as cash price. I'll buy again from Bud's and have already recommended them verbally to others. Bud's however should speed up the order processing getting electronic checks to clear faster. more

I purchased this weapon and was finally able to take it to the range. After giving the barrel a quick clean and some oil I proceeded to use it the first time. The sights will evoke memories of military service weapons. T...he first ten round group I shot at 25 yards were within 1 inch groupings but a little to the the left. After adjusting the sight and running another 10 rounds it was dead on. For the price point I could not be happier. Ran a total of 250 rounds down range with varied ammo and had one failure to eject. This was from one box of reloaded ammo I had. Cannot beat this weapon for fun and accuracy. My wife even shot it and liked the weapon. more

Gun shoots very accurate right out of the box. Feels solid and balances well in the hands. Easy sight picture makes firing pleasurable (even for my old eyes). Mild recoil but a slight pinch on the cheek weld. Trigger fee...ls quite acceptable with no mush or creep. I give it an unofficial maybe 6 or 7 lb. feel.Positive repeatable reset so far. Magazine (10 rounder included) engaged with little effort and fed everytime. Magazine does seem thin and flimsy but does its job. Charging handle needs to broken in a bit as I experienced some hangup if handle was screwed on too tight or loosened itself after firing if undertightened. Maybe a washer in there would help? Action is klunky like the metal on metal feel of an ak-47 but when shooting runs milder and quieter. Followup shots are quite enjoyable and muzzle flip/climb are almost non-existant on this 9mm. I give this gun an impressive solid 4 stars -rough around the edges but plenty fun to be had for not a lot of cash for an American made value. Barrel was filthy before first firing, so much so I thought it may have been stored in a coal mine. Almost zero oil out of the box. My opion this gun needs to run a bit oily so plan on a proper cleaning and oiling first. Have not dealt with Hi-point customer service as of yet but there reputation from what I have read seems pretty good. This is a promising range gun and (time will tell) an easily swung compact home defender. more

Two words.... ACCURATE & CONSISTENT! That's the best way to summarize this basic carbine. I'll be honest, I was a little self conscious taking this to the range so fired 2 of my other "nicer" guns first to establish I co...uld shoot. Loaded this up with some Federal aluminum case 9mm rounds, aimed, and 1st shot took out the number on the center of the target. All doubts about the "Hi-Point" stigma immediately went away and no I'm not lying to you. While I've never liked "peep" sights in the past, nor have I ever fired a gun with a " ^ " wedge style front sight, it was extremely easy to hit the target with it. Surprisingly, I could actually see WHERE the bullet was hitting while still looking through the sight. The wedge makes this possible as it's not obscuring the bullet hole. Felt more like a red dot aiming set up where you just place the dot and fire. I was just placing the wedge and the bullet gratifyingly obeyed. Anyways, I've fired a bunch of assault to bolt-action rifles and this blows them out of the water accuracy-wise at close range. At 25', I had a silver dollar sized hole ripped out of the target and had to intentionally hit to the side of it as the bullets would easily KEEP going through that hole and that was still with my 1st box. Even firing quickly they went through as the gun is extremely easy to resight the target FAST with minimal rise. I was floored. Surprisingly, it was sighted in already. At 25 yards, it was equally as accurate. I do have a few minor complaints though. The magazine is pretty cheap and feels "cheap". While I had no actual issues loading a full 10 rounds of 9mm aluminum case, I found they didn't feed into the magazine as smoothly as my higher-end pistols. I also kept feeling like I was going to cut my thumb on the edges while feeding the rounds in, but it didn't happen. The front sight piece was NOT coated with a finish for some reason, and was essentially bare metal which I found extremely ODD as I'd at least expect a parkerized finish here. Someone else at the range had the .45 cal. version of this with the front grip and red dot, and it was the same way so it seems to be a conscious decision on Hi-Point's part to save $0.50. The bolt is on the left hand side, and takes some effort to rack it back which I don't like in a carbine caliber firearm, and I'm not thrilled with the actual lug they used which is essentially semi-loose and needs to be in order to lock it all the back into the receiver. Found I was having to rest the butt of the stock on my waist and rack with my left hand. Maybe it'll loosen up over time? On last round hold open, you need to drop the mag, rack the bolt so it slides forward, THEN engage the safety which I find very odd. Modern guns should be able to engage the safety regardless of where the mag is empty or not and the bolt is being held back on last round hold open. Final nit-pick is the stock is over kill for 9mm, and even .40-45 for that matter. While it's definitely rugged, a simple wire stock would suffice here and probably drop about a pound of plastic bulk off the gun. The spring but plate is useless for this power level and I found myself accidentally engaging it a few times while pulling the stock tightly against my shoulder, which took me off-guard as I had to re-position as I wasn't expecting it. Might take a dremel to it and hollow out it's guts and bottom spine. The gun is however surprisingly light as-is feels pretty well balanced too. I could easily hold this one-handed if needed and fire it and hit something nearby. Out of 100 rounds through it, every single one went off w/o issue. EVERY case ejected and it went 100{3f0af8638ec4e25235d26b29d16b747f1dc5cde58a46dd1c067361705c7682cd} smoothly out of the box (I did nothing to it, no oiling, nothing). Despite the minor annoyances at the excess plastic everywhere, unfinished front sight, and the cheaply made magazine and odd safety set-up, I'm still definitely giving it 5 stars for the simple fact that you can NOT find a NEW 9mm carbine this ACCURATE, this LIGHT, this RELIABLE, and this fun to shoot for $246 anywhere else. PERIOD. At 25', I'd put this up against ANY high-end AR, AK, VZ, etc. and easily be more accurate and consistent with this. Yes, this one is that accurate. If you want more power, I suggest the .40 over .45 as the .45 is a heavier slug with lower FPS. If you want $11 boxes of ammo to burn through and embarrass the $1500 AR beside you accuracy-wise, buy this 9mm. more

Fourth gun bought from Buds. Smooth hassle free as usual. I really like this gun. Got the stripped down one and added a few of my own touches. It's still not beautiful, but mine is now almost pretty. Took sights off and ...mounted a 4X32 scope. after zeroing it in, I shot 200 rounds at 75 yards. First, every round, including the sight in rounds, cycled flawlessly. Not a single problem. Two, I had no problem pushing the clip in. It went in and went click every time. Three, I hand load 9mm 115 grain FMJ and that's what was shot. Four, At 75 yards, about 200 rounds, my groups were a little bigger than a quater (25 cents). So, the sling is pretty worthless, but other than that, it's a really fun gun to shoot. I was torn between the 9mm and the 45. I opted for the 9mm because it's cheaper to shoot. I'm not in the army nor am I preparing for the zombie outbreak. I just throw bulletts at papper men. An American made gun, supporting USA workers, fun to shoot, inexpensive, and accurate. HUH, what more can ya ask for? Get one and go have some lead slinging fun. more

Ordered on a Thursday, received by the next Friday. Picked it up from the FFL and headed straight to the range. The instructions consisted of one multi-fold piece of paper. There were two other smaller pages with warning...s about mags thar will void the warranty. Cleaned the bore and the receiving chamber, loaded up with WWB 115 gr 9mm and started shooting. Put about 50 rounds through it without any FFL or FFE's. There are a couple of items of note: 1) The bottom of the mag well is designed in such a way that the normal slap on the bottom of the mag does not insure the mag will seat correctly. The shooter has to push on the bottom of the mag with fingers to make sure the mag engages correctly (several times after changing mags I pulled the trigger and no bang - mag was not pushed in the entire way.) 2) The factory sights were way off and took some time to correct. The front sight is held on with a machine screw that had to be loosened, the front sight raised or lowered, then the screw tighten again. Because of the placement, the rifle had to be unloaded each time an adjustment was made. The instructions say to disassemble the rifle and do a complete cleaning after 1500 rounds. So after the range, I cleaned the bore and the receiver again. I am interested to see if it can go the entire 1500 rounds. more

This gun is kind of like the fat girl you secretly did stuff with in high school... Looked like crap, but like a champ she took everything you put in her and just kept smiling and wanting more.

This was my first purchase from Buds and I was more than impressed! I picked mine up within 3 business days of the order going through. As for the Carbine, AMAZING gun for the price. Incredibly accurate, reliable, and fu...n! Ive only put a hundred or so rounds through it thus far but not a single problem with feeding or misfires. I must say I was slightly apprehensive to buy a Hi point based off what I've heard about them from other people but its clear they obviously haven't shot this weapon. NOTE : the only flaw this gun has is the metal like to oxidize slightly if you dont keep a nice layer or oil on it when put into storage. Again this doesnt affect the funtion of the weapon but simply cosmetic. IF you keep it lubed and store it properly you'll never notice any such problem.. I highly Recommend this carbine! more

No one single failure since day one and I’ve put over 1000 rounds of various ammos through it. Materials and finish are not top notch but for the price you shouldn’t have anything to complain about. The sights out of... the box needed a little adjustments then it kept zero nicely. I replaced them with a dot sight later on. It’s more accurate than I can shoot out at 50 yards (limited by my pistol range). It’s low priced but not cheap. I like this gun more than any other more expensive ones I own. I’m bringing it to the range every single time now and always leave with a smile. I ordered this while I was ordering another firearm for my own Christmas present. I saw the price and thought I couldn’t lose much with it so I added it as a bonus. It ended up it was a great buy! This firearm is probably not a good fit for gun snobs but definitely a great value for firearm enthusiasts who would appreciate the essence of a nice firearm: durability (lifetime, your and subsequent owners’, warranty), reliability (go bang every time), and affordability(so every law-abiding citizen can bear arms). I ordered it during the Christmas holidays so the shipping was a bit late but overall it was a great transaction with Buds. more

first time to purchase from Bud's and everything went smoothly. used credit card for transaction. rifle delivered promptly to my FFL dealer. about the rifle, works great. getting good groupings at 75' - don't have a long...er range to fire on yet. Have fired about 200 rounds using winchester 9 mm, 115 grain ammo. only had two issues: in promag 15 round mag, once round did not enter the chamber and other issue was 1 round didn't fire. took out round and put back in mag and it fired. don't know what happened with that one. I find the lever to load ammo on the left side of the rifle a bit cumbersome as I am right handed. I like the aperature sights on the rifle. For the money, this is a great rifle so far. more

OK. First let me say that Gurney at Buds Guns is the Man!! This place if great. They not only have a wide selection of guns, WIDE, but they genuinely want to help you... A rarity in the world these days. Thanks guys. Now..., Is this 9mm Carbine the Beretta. No. However, is it a good clone? No. It's a GREAT one. I love this gun. It's like Hyundai... For the price combined with the quality. nothing can touch it. Lifetime warr.. Made in America. Customer service that's through the roof awesome. Not one jam yet.. I've taken it out and shot about 200rnds and also just shot 25 through it rapid fire like... (With the stock mag and the aftermarket 15 rounder) Flawlessly. It's lighter than I thought it would be. In my opinion, it's better than the Kel tec setup. No question. Also, again for the price, better than the Beretta ... I was going to buy the Storm, but now, I think I'll buy the 40s&w and 45acp models as well and have three for the price of one Storm... Also, I've had a Beretta have a problem before and their customer service needs help... more

I'd never ordered a gun online before, and Bud's made it as simple as it could be, so props to them. Got the gun quickly and with no problems, with great updates along the way. All I can say about the gun is that it is a...bsolutely a blast to shoot. Took it out of the box and popped a quick 50 rds through it without a hitch. I used WWB ammo and didn't even worry about cleaning, and it worked flawlessly. Now if you have some high-rolling gun snob give you advice on this gun, I'm sure he'll scorn you for asking him, but I don't care about that. Keep in mind you're spending under $300 on the gun, and that it has a lifetime warranty and you won't be disappointed. I now have about 800+ rounds through it and still no problems, and it's still just as fun as the first time I used it. It's a great plinker, and I'd trust it for home defense. If you're even considering this rifle, then put it in your cart now. more

This was my first experance ordering a gun online and it was a breeze, Buds shipped it out real fast to my local gun shop and i got it in just a coupla days, ill be using Buds again on my next gun purchase. Now on to the... Gun itself, Hi Point guns are pretty in-expensive and you hear good and bad reviews here and there on the net, but you always hear good things about the 9mm carbine and now i know why, i went out and put about 50 rounds thru this gun and it shot like a champ, not one jam, very smooth for a 200 dollar gun, even though the picture on the website shows a 995 classic (old style) , They sent me the 995TS (New Re-designed Stock) , it came with 1 -10 round clip , lock, two swivel studs and Black Sling all new in the box. more

Had this gun for a few weeks. Well worth the price. Not the prettiest looking thing and lots of plastic makes it look like a kids toy but shoots good and easy to get used to. Tried 6 different kinds of ammo even the chee...p stuff works. 600 rounds not 1 issue. Lots of fun to shoot. Good up to 50 yards seams to wander some at 100 yards out but I'm still getting used to it. A must have in a 9 mm. Defiantly would recommend. This is the 3rd gun from buds glad I was turned on to them. Pay the extra 3{16ca3623f7a8a698a27026662c232fd796efae52f0424641f26249c0046b8ada} You will get your order faster then if you send a check that is the only negative Iv experienced with these guys. more
