Izhmash AK-12

The Izhmash AK-12 is a select-fire AK47 derivative that was developed by Kalashnikov Concern at the Ishevsk factory in Russia.  This rifle's initial development ended in 2011 and was rejected by the Russian military due to their surplus of AK74 rifles and their lack of faith in Izhmash's financial state.  The rejected prototype offered many improvements to its controls and ergonomics, however the design was scrapped entirely in favor of what many consider to be a step in the wrong direction.  The current AK-12 is based on the AK400.
