This was an unusual purchase for my. All the rest of my firearms are black or stainless. But this one just spoke to me. I like the 1911 layout, and it's actually an improvement over 1911 controls in one important resp...ect. You can keep the safety engaged while manipulating the slide. I will say a full size 1911 has a bit larger, more ergonomic thumb safety, but the smaller one on this pistol is an inevitable fact of the pistol's overall size. Mine is very accurate, and completely reliable. I really like the full size sights; they present an excellent sight picture, and help you realize the accuracy potential of this small wonder. If I were to change one thing, it would be to put some checkering or other grip enhancement on the front strap. That's my only complaint. I've tried grip tape, and it does enhance the grip, but it doesn't stick very well. The appearance is very subjective, of course, but I like it. What isn't subjective is the fit and finish; they are top notch. The blue on the frame is holding up very well, and the grip panels are a very nice light cream color. They are man made material, but if you look closely enough there's some fine texture and structure that I really like. It makes it seem a bit more natural than some very plasticky imitation ivory grips. All in all, I'm very pleased with this pistol. more

I bought this gun for my husband for Christmas. He has dreamed of having it as his carry. He was elated to say the least when he opened this beautiful handgun this morning. I could not be happier giving this fine Kimber ...firearm to him. You can never go wrong buying a Kimber. Bud's Gun Shop was excellent to work with - a great experience. more

this little pistol is amazing, very accurate and dependable. Runs well but requires high end ammo, not good with inexpensive bulk ammo. Since this is designed as a carry, back up, self defense, home defense pistol. I gi...ve it a 4 because I would only use top shelf ammo I had thoroughly tested in any pistol I depended on for self defense. more

Fantastic firearm. Purchased for my granddaughter. She is recently 10, and has been shooting a Glock 43 as her first. The Kimber is much easier for her to rack and lock back, but a little more difficult for her to break ...down. Great service from Bud's. Clean, easy process and quick delivery. Not to mention, always the best price. more

    Micro 9 Covert
I own several Kimber, Sig, S&W and other pistols and revolvers. I bought this as a small carry gun. I've read the various reviews and the repetitive "miss fire" issues and figured it would take 3-500 rounds to break it i...n. However, I can honestly state that I brought the gun home, got in my RZR, drove out the gate into the NF, went to a safe spot to shoot and did so. I ran over 100 rounds of 3 different brands of ammo: Remington HP, Remington Ball and Horridly Critical Defense LITE through the gun without a single issue of any kind. That was straight out of the box. At 25' the gun grouped about 4" without any great effort. I think that will improve as I get used to it. Recoil is noticeable but not an issue. more

    Not without flaws
Purchased the Micro 9 CSE edition a few months ago, and I can honestly say its great shooter. I haven't had any failures with the handgun and it's more accurate than I am. If I do my part, it hits point of aim with every... trigger squeeze. It is comfortable to shoot, light and thin enough to carry without being annoying or weighing my pants down. The reason for the 3 stars? Saying the finish sucks is being polite. Mine has the black finish on the frame, and just from carrying it in a leather holster it looks horrible. The finish has worn off in areas around the trigger guard, various parts of the frame, and don't get me started on the top of the frame where the slide rides. It doesn't even look like a wear from use. It's flaking and chipping in areas that make it look like the gun is abused or thrown around, which I assure you it never has been. The inside of the slide is completely worn, the area of barrel lock up has no finish left at all, the breech face is complelty chipped away, it just looks like a beater pistol after around 400 rounds and daily carry inside a IWB leather Desantis holster. Other than the cheaper than spray paint Kimpro finish, Ive has no issues at all other than wishing I had purchased another color. more

Micro .380 - accurate, when it actually fires
I have had many handguns over the years, and this by far is the worst of the bunch. This was my first Kimber, yes I had heard the rumors that they had quality problems lately, but decided to try one out since it was on s...ale. Went to the range and put about 100 rounds through it, but quit out of frustration at the continuous misfires and failures to feed. Either a round would not seat fully in the chamber, to where I had to nudge the slide forward with my thumb, or the slide would stay fully retracted with the next round staying put in the magazine. I called Kimber, printed their label (had to send it in my own box), sent it in. To their credit, I got it back in a weeks time. They polished and reamed the barrel and replaced 1 mag (out of the three I had). Went back to the range, and shot through two boxes of ammo and all three mags without any misfeeds; but I would not rely on this gun for a life and death situation, I just don't trust it. If Kimber took any pride in their product, they should probably ream and polish the barrels BEFORE they leave the factory. Heck, I have a KelTec .380 that has fired for the past 10+ years every time I've pulled the trigger, for 1/3 the price. Lesson learned. more

    No failures
I bought the stainless version with crimson trace grips. Went to the range and fired 400 rounds from 8 different manufacturers without a single failure. I cleaned it before I went, after 100 rounds and after 200 more rou...nds. Around the 200 round mark the fiber optic on the front sight came out and was lost (customer service was very easy to deal with). Groups were fairly tight for a pistol of this size, although my shots were consistently 1-2 inches low at 5-7 yards. Reassembly took a few tries to get the hang of, but isn't too difficult. Overall seems well made, maybe overpriced but I'm happy with my purchase. more

Amazing pocket pistol and not any bigger than .380
I love that the Kimber Micro 9 is based on the tried and true 1911 design including the thumb safety. Very accurate at 20 yds and well balanced. It is a single stack mag so only holds 6 with flush style mag and 7 with in...cluded extended magazine. The extended mag is better for shooters with large hands. All steel construction and very clean trigger break. Safety can be engaged in half-cocked and fully cocked position which is an improvement over the typical 1911 design of safety only working if “cocked and locked” (ready to fire). more

I really enjoy my all stainless micro 9. I got a fairly early one, it took a couple hundred rounds to "break" it in and feed consistently. I only shoot 124gr ammo and up. Love how concealable this gun is. I also have a s...ig 938 which is pretty much the same. The kimber has much smoother/rounded slide which helps it conceal better than the Sig. Overall has been a great carry piece. I'm happy with my purchase. more

    Kimber Micro 9 STG
This is a superb firearm. The STG with Hogue grips fit my large hands well and offers great control, the extended grip gives your pinky a place to rest. Accuracy is surprising and it shoots more like a full sized handgun... with mild recoil. The fiber optic site is highly visible and target acquisition is easy. Quality is excellent, not a single mechanical failure during the break in period so far with 200 rounds through it and 400 cycles of the action. I fed a mix of 115 grain new brass through it without issue from a variety of manufacturers. Conceals very well, is fun to shoot, and is easy to clean. I prefer it to my full sized pistol. more

    Nice gun. Shoots well.
Read both the good and bad reviews, and decided to buy the micro 9 with laser. I like the way the gun feels in my hand. It is small but has the feel of a bigger gun. Took it to the range and shot a hundred rounds of Winc...hester 115 gr 9mm without any ftf, fte, or misfeeds. Groupings were good and recoil is acceptable. Break down for cleaning is easy and quick. Reassembly is just as easy except for pushing the ejector down far enough, but with a small flat to screw driver to help it was easy. The only down side I saw was the mag is extremely hard to load. This did get a little easier the more I shot the gun.

I'm happy with my purchase. more

    Kimber experience
I am extremely pleased with all aspects of this gun. Easily concealed, pleasant to shoot and I had in initial break in zero function failures. That being said here are issues with all of my Kimbers. Disassembly is a pain... . For the 3" & 4" .45 's save yourself frustration and look up 1911 Ultra tool. This is a guy in a work shop that has a tool enamel coated to pop out the barrel stop lever. Also has a magnetized bushing that slips over the guide rod to keep the recoil spring compressed, worth ever penny. All Kimbers I've had needed an adjustment to the extraction spring .The negative to this gun because it's compact the slide is very tight and reassembly after cleaning is an effort. Still the trade out is worth it. It's a real value. more

Beautifully made piece of hardware and perfect size pocket piece. Recoil is quite manageable considering the size for a 9mm. Great little shooter. 200 rounds of American Eagle 115 grain no problems. I bought the crimson ...trace model but being that I have large paws it is kind of a waste because my trigger finger blocks the beam and the on off switch for the laser probably should have been a normal on off switch instead of just a touch switch. Not real pleased with the laser but love the gun. It would be nice if Kimber engineers would do a redesign on the laser grip for those of us with bigger hands. It seems extending the grip end more toward the trigger might solve the issue of blocking the laser beam. Rev I perhaps? more

As usual Buds is the best, this little pistol is amazing, very accurate and dependable. Runs well but requires high end ammo, not good with inexpensive bulk ammo. Since this is designed as a carry, back up, self defense,... home defense pistol. I give it a 4 because I would only use top shelf ammo I had thoroughly tested in any pistol I depended on for self defense. more

Great service from Buds. Gun arrived at my LGS within 5 days of ordering. I've put about 100 rounds of various ammo through it so far. Gun shoots great and fits the hands perfectly. I had one failure to eject, but it was... cheap steel case ammunition. I did deduct one star because the point of aim on the iron sights is off about 3 inches to the left at 7 yards, and the only way to adjust the sights is to take it to a gunsmith or purchase an expensive "sight pusher" due to the way kimber mounts their sights. more

This is a beautiful little gun. I am a female with larger hands so the extended magazine that came with it was a true blessing so my pinky had somewhere to grab on to. The laser was very accurate straight out of the box.... My only issue would be that the trigger pull is set pretty tight straigh out of the box. I feel sure it is for safety concerns with a concealed carry firearm and accidential discharge. But i have mine mounted in my car not in my pants or a side holster and feel like ill take it to my gun smith and have the trigger adjusted some. The tight trigger can make you have to squeeze the trigger when you first shoot it and make it shoot off center. The gun over all is a very fine piece. It shoots good, feels good in the hand, is lightweight and small enoigh to easily conceal in my car, purse or pocket. Over all i would recommend this gun. more

    Kimber Micro 9 = FTF & FTE
Bought the Micro 9 with laser from Cabela's over a year and had shot it multiple times indoor and outdoor with 115 gr Remington, Speer, and Anguila and this is how I look at it: Pros: easy to carry day in and day out; ni...ce looking; relatively accurate when it functions; SA trigger is not that hard to pull as other reviewers mentioned. Cons: Constantly mis-feed or mis-eject with different brands of bullets. 2 out of 7 rounds the slide won't return completely. Bottom line: I wouldn't bet my life on it. If you are buying it for carry go look at other models. more

So far very pleased my only con is the laser hand guard sits low and when the weapon is properly gripped i find i have trouble sometimes not blocking the laser with my trigger finger. Also the extended grips give a good ...purchase on the weapon but also cause the magazine to hang against your palm when attempting to release them. Weapon shoots very accurately off the laser. Poor workmanship
Bought the Micro 9 03/01/18 and shot it the next day with quality factory loads. I own 12 handguns from a variety of manufacturers and have never encountered so many problems with a new handgun. The Kimber 9 Micro failed... to feed 5 times out of 50 and failed to fire twice. The cleaning process is a complete nightmare. The firearm disassembles easy enough, however, putting it back together is a mission impossible. I believe the feeding ramp is to steep for clean quality feeding. more

    misfires!!!
Bought gun, took to range, first 5 shots the gun never fired, tried different ammo, same thing. Finally on 10th shot the gun fired! Then the second shot it only didn't fire 6 times, It took nearly 150 shots with 3 differ...ent ammo types including Sig Sauer ammo, Hornaday and Remington ammo to get the gun to fire reasonably reliably. I took it home took it apart cleaned it. Took it back to the range and had several more although less frequent misfires, Now after nearly 500 rounds and 4 different cleanings the gun has gotten to the point where I would consider it to "reliable." OMG sure glad I didn't buy it and immediately start carrying it and then have to use it! I would be dead! more

    Poor manufacturing quality
Bought new. Went to range to shoot it. Fired Remington Umc 115 grain ball and Federal HST 150 grain jhp. Used 3 different magazines. Fired 50 rounds. About every 5-6 rounds, extractor claw let go of spent cartridge prema...turely, leaving it still 3/4 in barrel and then began loading of next round creating a jam. This happened continually throughout shooting of 50 rounds regardless of which magazine or ammunition I was using. I called Kimber to explain problem. They informed me that the only option was to send them the pistol and therefore not have it for 5-6 weeks. You would think that they would pay a local gunsmith so I could bring it by and have it fixed in a day or two being that it was defective out of the box and I spent nearly a thousand dollars on it. VERY DISAPPOINTED!!! Save yourself the trouble and buy a Sig Sauer or H&K or Glock. The rumors that you hear about Kimber quality slipping are ABSOLUTELY TRUE!! more

Transaction from Buds, perfect as always. Weapon, not so much. Slide occasionally sticks back while firing and has to be 'pushed forward'. According to manufacturer, it requires a break-in period of a few hundred rounds.... Would not have purchased had I known this in advance. A gun made for self defense should be combat ready out of the box in my opinion. It will probably just stay in the safe. more

    So far, no good
I purchased the 9mm Micro on sale before Christmas this year. The initial indication from the web said it would arrive before Christmas. It did not. When it finally arrived, one of the mags would not fit into the gun. I ...called Kimber and they said they would send a replacement. 3 weeks later it arrived. At the range, I find 10% of my ammo fails to fire. And that remains the same with other ammo. An old character at the range tells me I just need to keep shooting and it will eventually break in...... So much for my hope this would be my EDC. I have very little confidence in this gun. If I could, I would return the gun. I will give It some time before contacting Kimber for assistance, but I have low expectations at this point. more

The safety is hard to engage with the hammer drawn back, and after the safety is released after being put in Condition One (hammer pulled back, safety on) the trigger pull is much h...arder than expected. Not bad....serves it's purpose of ultra concealable handgun. Not exactly pleasurable to shoot but not uncontrollable. The screws on the grip began rusting pretty quickly after wearing for a few weeks in the summer and sw...eating on it. Wish they would have spec'd better quality metals and or a coating to prevent that knowing this is a carry gun. Also disappointed in the color, the picture makes it seem the slide and grip panel is the same color but in actuality the slide is very different and frankly kind of weird. If I could do it over i would buy the stainless model for almost the same price and have a better finish on the gun. Functionality wise the gun shoots, loads and cycles just fine. Decently accurate as well. Again, not bad and serves it's purpose. more

As always, Buds shipped fast and made the transaction easy. I shopped around for a long time and Buds had the best price by far. The gun arrived in perfect condition as expected and I cleaned and oiled it before going to... the range. I shot 200 rounds through it without any issues. Being such a small gun, it does move a bit in your hand, especially if you have big hands, but its very controllable. Accurate and forgiving to about 10 yards, then it take more careful shooting to get a respectable group. The extended magazine is a must for any range session. I like these little Kimber 9mm handguns. They are great for little lady hands and teaching children how to safely handle firearms and they make a good comfortable deep concealment weapon and backup gun. Plus you can shoo...t them all day. My wife loves the laser grips on hers and the easy use of the gun. I have two of these and they both run whatever you put in them and are great shooters for being so small. They are nice and tight and I have never found a manufacturing flaw on any of the ones I have received. My only gripe and only general gripe about Kimber is the fact you only get a single magazine for for the weapon. I found the Kimber Micro 9 to be a good little pistol. I got it for a CCW and my wife would be willing to use it. I dont find the "custom shop" kimbers to be any different than the regular. The finish on the Rose Gold wa...s great: no scratches or dings. No ftf/fte after about 200 rounds. It disassembled like a 1911 but with everything smaller, its a little challenging especially to not mar the finish. Only comes with 1 mag which is a little disappointing for a $1000 gun. Only complaint is the grips seems out of place on the weapon. My wife found better looking grips later. Good pistol but a little overpriced for a freedom group 9mm. more

Many FTF's and FTE's. When removing a loaded magazine, the top rnd would pop out of the mag. Having had a couple of other Kimbers, I knew that the extractor needed to be adjusted. Easy to do and test. After I tuned the e...xtractor, it runs awesomely!Easy carry size, the laser is fantastic for a CCW and 7 rnd capacity is good.I plan on adding some glow in the dark to the easy to see site's, which are bigger and better than the sites on the Sig P938 more

This is a great, accurate, very concealable little gun. I was surprised with its accuracy. I got this gun as a backup gun and it fits that role well. I have put almost 100 rounds through it without any problems. I chose ...this over the sig p938 ( dont get me wrong, Sig makes great guns, I edc a p320 ) because it felt better in my hand, and I liked the sights better. There are negative reviews out there on this gun but I decided to give it a try for myself and im not disappointed. I would definitely recommend this to anyone considering a micro compact 9mm. more

Very nice pistol. Good size for pocket carry with the right holster. It is also very accurate for it's size,as accurate as my Ultra size Kimbers. All in all I am very happy with it, small size, 9mm, accurate and good loo...king. I had a Stainless Raptor Micro 9 a while back and it was just as good though I like the looks of the CDP a little better, it is more subtle, not as flashy. Looking for a pocket 9 you couldn't do much better. more

I really like this pistol. It shoots s smooth as butter, and it looks good too. Also, because of the size, it is easily concealable. The short sight radius takes some getting used to to fire it accurately, I have found, e...ven at a distance of seven yards. The gun needs to be held level or you may not know where your rounds are going. The sights took some practice in use before I figured the alignment of the top of the front sight while it was centered between the rear dots So I could get reasonable accuracy. The fiber optic sight is helpful somewhat, but not spectacular. Shooting under a shaded firing line, prevented the front sight from being "lit up" as much as I hoped it would. Even for such a small pistol, I was very comfortable holding it with my big hands. I think the extended magazine base helps with that. A couple hundred rounds have been fired through this pistol so far, without one single malfunction, even with inexpensive range ammo. So, the sights are just a matter of getting used to, and the fiber optic is okay, but not anything to rave about. The looks are really appealing. The one big problem I have to mention is, it goes through 7+1 rounds way too easily, ha ha ha. Get extra magazines! I think you will enjoy this pistol if you get one. more

    Great personal defense pistol
Amazing little pistol. It will stay on target at 10 yards with the crimson trace sight. Recoil is negligible for a 9mm. My only issue is disassembly. It has the characteristics of a 1911, but I can’t disassemble it for... cleaning without damaging the frame. Great value at the sale price. more

    micro 9
Picked up one of the first Micro 9 stainless about a year ago for my wife. It just was not right from the start. Ran about 200 rounds for a good brake in, but got worse. Sent it back to Kimber not real happy, but gave th...em a chance to get it right. I'll have to say they did a great job, rebuilt it in the custom shop and shoots as well as any firearm I own. What bothers me is that they replaced every part on the pistol. I just don't know how it will stand up in the long run. We've ran about 250 rounds in it with no malfunctions of any kind. So for now its a great shooter. more

This is my first Kimber and I think it's a great little pistol and remarkably accurate considering it's size! I love the fact that it's about as small as any of the .380s I own ( Colt Mustang, Sig, Springfield and CZ USA... ) and has become my preferred EDC (every day carry). The recoil isn't as noticeable as I had expected, no failures to feed with any of the FMJ or hollow point ammo I tried. My only criticism was the fact that the pistol was pretty dirty when it arrived. I never had this issue with any of the Glock, Dan Wesson, Springfield Armory or CZ USA I've purchased. It wouldn't keep me from purchasing another Kimber however. more

    great fit and finish
The Micro( with Crimson Trace is a great carry gun. The fit and finish from Kimber is what you expect from Kimber, smooth quality products. The coats seem good and gaps and tolerances work tight and well together. The 9m...m version I bought has the power I was looking for but capacity is limited. I do wish Kimber or the aftermarket would offer options and more accessories. But overall great product and a smart buy. more

    Micro Desert Tan 9mm
I also own a Kimber Ultra Two-Tone 1911 45cal and wasn't happy with the cleaning procedure of it but decided to give it another try and bought the Micro Desert Tan 9mm. I love the looks of the guns, the accuracy and the ...concealment of them but the cleaning procedure is terrible. They actually warn you in the owners manual to be careful putting the last little item on that holds the barrel and slide together and I was but still scratched the gun. This is a very poor system for a company that sells high priced hand guns. Take some advice from Glock and Sig Sauer. They sell quality firearms that are as easy to clean as they are to shoot. more

Not impressed with the Kimber Micro 9. I have a Kimber Pro CDP .45 and love it's accuracy and trigger. But the Micro has a hard trigger pull and therefore difficult to shoot a consistent pattern. This trigger is 7 pounds... plus. Way too much for a small frame pistol and difficult to control. After a day at the range firing the Micro 9 along with my Sig P938, the Sig performed much better and was more accurate and comfortable to shoot. The laser grip is cool and might be intimidating to a threat, but Doesn't make up for the crappy trigger. I suppose if you want to pay a gun smith a big sum to do a trigger job, it might be a better gun. But Kimber should be ashamed to put there name on this little gun. I owned it for two months and found a dealer to take it off my hands for a $150 loss. more

This fire arm is a great size and feels great. Very little kick and esy to bring back on target. It is nice looking but I have 2 problems with it. After firing 2 mags od ammo through it the batterys for the laser went de...ad. I had some 2032 batteries so I was going to replace them. When getting ready to remove the grips I found the side with the actual light on it would mave forward and back about an 1/8th of an inch. Found out the factory did not tighten the grip screws. No big problem. The really big problem is the beavertail. If You abdomen carry You will find that if You don't have a holster with leather between the tail and your stomach, You will get cut. Its SHARP. The first day I carried it for about 8 hours it seemed to be a bit uncomfortable. So I stuck My t shirt between it and My stomach but when I undressed that night I found I had a minor cut from it. I have been looking for a holster to protect from it and there are not many brands out there that cover the beavertail. Other than that I really love the gun and I feel that it is a quality firearm that requires no break in before it is dependable. more

I found this Kimber Micro 9 to be a very nice piece for discreet carry. But because you asked I need to say with some flaws. The trigger is hard to pull....10lbs. The thumb safety is overly small. And so hard to engage i...t is almost worthless. The piece could use some more de-horning....again one point the thumb safety etc. The mag release is overly stiff. These issues are not a deal breaker....only a bit disappointing. All will be addressed in due time. As I'm a Mod1911 Pistolsmith. I would be dead! more

After two weeks the laser doesn't work anymore. Not sure if it was being pressed zipped up in the pouch but I doubt it. I have had a Ruger LCR with crimson trace laser grip and it has been working for 10 years with littl...e care or attention to how I store the gun. Also the slide sticks sometimes and won't fully chamber the next round. I am not confident enough in this gun to use it as my main carry and will stick to the revolver. After doing a "triple take" at the words "including Crimson Trace laser gr...ips" in the product description, I immediately got on the horn to local chain outdoors stores to make sure I wasn't dreaming. I was quoted anywhere from $525-$650...just for the pistol!! An additional $250-$300 to add the laser grips and I was looking @ a total of between $775-$1000! Unless you are dead set in getting black finish, DO YOURSELF A FAVOR and get the stainless version for cheaper. I always heard bad reviews of the Kimpro finish, well it's true and it sucks. This will by no means be a saf...e queen and has seen decent use for a week in the woods and this is worst finish I have ever seen. For positive purposes I will say it adds character. The sights rock and are dead on and shoot nice at 25yrd using small 12"x18" mini silhouette steel target. The grips as much as I wanted to hopefully like also are not worth the added cost. With little to moderate carry the switch will turn it on and become useless, so unless it is a tiny beside gun forget the grips. Finger also gets in the way of the laser half the time and I have already replaced them with G10 Stoner CNC grips which are excellent. It also isn't fond of gloves in my case. In any event it is a great and accurate shooter for what it is made for, pocketable, comfortable, well made. For giggles I tried some steel case, no go in this one. I would definitaly buy this again and over the Sig 938 as I shoot it better, I just wouldn't buy this model as the finish and grips are not up to par. If you do shoot a lot at the range or wherever it will pinch the bottom of finger. With or without gloves. To me it's no big deal but just pointing it out. Wouldn't trade it or sell it ever. Just not to pleased it will be getting sent out for new finish being so new and even though I love my new G10 grips I shouldn't have had to replace the Crimson Trace just yet unless I want to waste a bunch of batteries constantly. Maybe it's just the holster which currently is a Galco made for the Sig 238 , it's snug at first but breaks in quickly for a nice fit, however the grip does hang out causing the switch to be exposed or maybe the batteries were crap to begin with. They may find themselves out and back on as warrants, can't beat options. As for reliability I would say it had a few issues during breakin but now runs like a clock. It's sweet but unless you want to put more money into it go stainless with stock grips more

I'd really like to give this gun 5 stars, but I'll spend this review explaining why I can't. Kimber is widely considered a top tier firearms manufacturer. They typically reflect that in their price tag. While I believe I... got a good price on this gun, it is in the higher range of its competitors from other manufacturers that I won't mention. When I received this gun I put 7 rounds through it at the gun shop. I had a failure to eject on round three. With no time to troubleshoot or fire more rounds I had to leave frustrated. After some reading, people on Kimber forums advised me that I should clean and oil the gun and try again. I did. Subsequently I experienced 3 more failure to ejects over the next 24 rounds. Frustrated again, I did more reading and watched some more YouTube videos. I found out that the ejector was my issue. After pulling the firing pin and the ejector I was able to "tune" the ejector. Now convinced it would work, based upon the ejectors ability to hold a spent casing in place, I went out and shot 100 rounds as fast as I could reload without a single flaw. As far as reliability goes, take that for what it's worth. I think the gun will continue to perform well, but I expected better. My wife's pistol from another manufacturer that costs half as much continues to have 0 reliability issues. Now, in to the gun itself. The parts are machines to very tight tolerances, but after only 150 rounds it is already getting smoother. The takedown pin was initially difficult to remove but now is getting easier and easier to remove. The sights are nice and white and there are available night sights for about $100. The finish is done nicely. I am a large guy. 6'5" 250 with big hands. The gun is comfortable to hold and I could probably shoot all day. Other people with smaller hands will NOT like this as a range toy. It's meant to be concealed and used in case of emergency. It does a good job of that. If you want a range to buy a full size pistol. Not this. The laser grips are if very high quality and include free batteries for life from Crimson Trace (1 set per year) upon registration of your product. This is a new Kimber offering and there are already some aftermarket parts available from various manufacturers. Holsters are easily found from a variety of vendors. I've been Conceal carrying this pistol for nearly two weeks and can wear it all day in a quality holster with no problems. You can put it in a front pocket too. It's small enough to wear in a car and sitting down in my office all day. It is obvious who Kimber was going after with this pistol. I narrowed it down to Kimber and Sig P938. I ultimately went with Kimber because I thought the advantage in reliability, comfort, and size was better for what I wanted. The reliability wasn't there out of the box as I would expected; however, I would still buy it again knowing what I know now. Just did not exceed my expectations with the failure to eject. But those issues are behind this gun now. more

Well made, and quite frankly I'd say underpriced when you consider the laser grips included with the gun. I suggest you physically put a Kimber Micro 9 in your hand before buying. If you have large paws you may find it a... bit too small. That being said, it's a SUPER easy gun to conceal. I suppose that's two sides of the same coin. Fit and finish on my gun was excellent, and so far proven reliable with Winchester white box 124 grain Full Metal Jacket ammo. (That's the only ammo I've tried so far.) I've been completely satisfied with my purchase. more

Purchased from Buds one day and it was at my FFL dealers office 2 days later. Great job by Buds again. This is my 7th handgun from Buds and my first Kimber. Took it to the range twice and put 200 rounds thru this fine sh...ooting pistol. Kimber did a great job, especially with the addition of the laser grips and white dot sights. The laser is excellent for night shooting and the 3 dot sights are great during the day. Was able to maintain a 3 inch grouping at 25 feet using either the laser of the 3 dot sights. It really works well as my C&C firearm. I replaced my Colt mustang 380 with the Kimber 9mm and it fits snug against my side in the belt holster. The 7 round mag was no problem and with 1 in the chamber using Critical Self Defense rounds I believe I am ready for any occasion if needed. Go buy one as it is a really fine shooting Micro Pistol and worth every penny. more

What a cool semi-auto! I have been packing either my Springer Mil Spec or Colt Combat Commander since 93 and carried one while on active duty. Love the platform and safety devices. I had a Sig 938. It felt good in the ha...nd, but had a 8.8-9.1 lb. trigger pull. Couldn't hit the side of a barn with it. It also had some FTF's and I didn't trust it, so off it went. I've never been a Kimber fan. Saw 4 that were jammers during matches at the old Blackwater training facility (Take their 3 day weapons class). I felt one of these Kimbers and it felt great with the 7 round, extender mag. Cleaned it up well, used Militec-1 grease on the slide rails. Used 3/4 Mobil-1 with 1/4 Lucas oil conditioner fro the rest. Took it to the range with 250 rounds of ammo. Loaded the mags with a Speer Gold Dot, WWB FMJ's and junk Fiochi (sp) steel cased ammo, all staggered. It fed every round and went through 250 rounds to break it in. I dialed in the Crimson Trace laser and first started shooting at the 3 yard line. Great 2" group. Took it to 7 yards and made an elevation adjustment to really dial it in. It's a lil tack driver. I was making head shots at 15 yards with no problem and it kept a 7" group out at 25 yards. Carry if at 10:00 in a cross draw rig, with an extra 7 round extended mag I bought as the 6 rounder doesn't allow a good purchase on the grip. I carry the Commander as my primary and have this lil baby as my BUG and second reload if I can't get the job done with 9 shots from the .45. HIGHLY recommend this lil workhorse. Its accurate, reliable, inexpensive, pretty and has a trigger pull that keeps getting better with every snap cap when I dry fire it. My wife doesn't like to pack a weapon. I let her shoot this one with some 115 gr. GD's and she loves it. Gonna buy her another for our anniversary. more

Wow! A little pocket rocket. This gun was hard to find given all the latest hype, but Bud had it for their team members. Thanks Bud! I own the .45 ACP and .38 ACP version of this gun (Raptor), but the 9mm is my go to eve...ryday pocket gun. Smooth action, no fuss recoil and more accurate than I expected from this shorty at 30 yards. Kimber's custom work is superb and with 3 raptors in my collection it is sometimes hard to choose but somebody has got to do it and it might as well be me. Oh and another thing, Bud's price is THE lowest so if you get the chance don't hesitate just buy the bloody thing. You will not be disappointed. I guarantee! more

    Micro 9
Very nice and very accurate small pistol. The only drawback is the very tough trigger pull. kimber claims they won't reduce it. Up close and personal it will work fine but beyond 10 to 15 yards might be iffy.

My overall impressions of this gun are great. I feel it was a good value for the price, especially considering the laser grips. This is my first Kimber product as well as my first 1911, so keep that in mind when I share ...my experience so far with the gun. I'll compare this pistol to the others I'm familiar with using and carrying. Unboxing the pistol is pleasant. Kimber sends it in a cardboard box and also includes a practical zippered soft case with a small pocket for the extra magazine. This package came with one 7 round magazine that is great for shooting and one 6 round magazine good for concealing. Unlike some others in the micro9 series this pistol has no checkering on the front strap and no serrations on the front of the slide. The lack of checkering on the grip was a total non-issue, perhaps because the rubber of the crimson trace grips wraps around under the trigger and helps you get a firm grip on the firearm (even with the smaller magazine that leaves your pinky hanging off the bottom). The lack of serrations on the front of the slide did affect me, however. The pistol is very easy to rack offering little resistance, but I still found my fingers slipping on occasion when I tried to engage the slick front-half without thinking. Firing this weapon encouraged me to make this my daily carry piece. The recoil impulse was very manageable even with Hornady Critical Defense 125 grain +p loads (not a terribly hot +p). The pistol points naturally which allowed me to shoot a tight 3-4" group at 10 feet... with the laser off and without looking at the sights! Of course it was much easier to shoot with the 7 round magazine installed, allowing me a good full grip on the firearm and a feeling of confidence. The trigger was heavier than I expected and felt a bit "squishy". I prefer the longer travel and light pull of my glock, but it was plenty good enough for government work, as they say. It easily bested the long double action of my j-frame s&w 637 but was not as nice as the same gun in single action. I consistently fired tighter groups than that shorter barrel revolver I am used to. The laser works as intended. However, if you index your finger along the slide when finding your target, and you have fat stubby fingers like myself, you will find yourself covering the laser completely. I don't rely on that sort of thing myself but if you were counting on the laser and you have the same habit of indexing that could be annoying. This pistol is easy to conceal. My first holster purchase was a leather galco tuck IWB which had to be "modified" to work with the laser grips. With that I can carry at the 4 o-clock with a t-shirt hanging over the gun and it pretty well disappears. The fobus OWB for the micro 9 worked out of the box as designed. It didn't conceal as well as the IWB, of course, but it is more comfortable and draws easily from the 3 o'clock. My favorite holster by far with this gun is a belt-slide holster worn at the 5 or 6 oclock position. A belt-slide holster is essentially just a loop of leather that the pistol fits snugly into, covering only the middle of the gun around the trigger. It is definitely a minimalist design but offers plenty of retention and the maximum amount of concealability that I have found with any gun. In summary, this was a great addition to my carry arsenal and I'm happy with the purchase. The laser grips are neat and a good value here, but I would never in a million years pay retail prices for them, especially with the shortcomings I mentioned with indexing. This was a successful endeavor into the world of Kimber and I suspect it won't be my last! more

    Micro 9
I have the .380 and 9mm w/Crimson trace grips. The .380 has virtually no recoil ,accurate, and fits in your pocket with no outline. The 9mm I a slightly different animal. It is just as accurate bit has a marginally larger... frame due to a heavier bullet. It is my car gun having a good punch but but is not a offensive weapon. It feels good in my hand w/a seven round magazine. more

Very nice pistol with one major flaw.
I loved this gun in the store but unfortunately I hadn't ever shot one before nor had I known anyone who owned one. If you can get over the very very stiff trigger pull, then this guns for you. Do yourself a favor if you...'re considering this gun, have the store put a dummy round in the gun and aim at a target and squeeze the trigger. Research the options for adjusting the trigger before you assume you can have it worked on by a gunsmith. For me, it's a point and shoot piece. more

    Best Conceal Carry
Kimber has a great quality name. With the Crimson Laser Factory Installed, the price was great for a balance between a pocket gun and a small carry gun. So I got accuracy , 9mm stopping power and a 7 shot clip which exte...nded hand coverage on the grip. The weight helps balance the kickback and the slide was easy enough for my female companion to rack a load. I will likely still keep the LCP II as a pocket gun but when wearing a coat, this is the perfect gun. My female companion, after using the Kimber, purchased the same model for herself. K more

The look of the 2 tone with the rosewood colored grips are very nice. The red dot laser worked just fine and easy to use. I shot 100 rounds of CCI Blazer Brass 124 Grain FMJ after taking it out of the box without cleanin...g it. I had 12 to 13 times where it would not load and I had to eject the magazine to clear it. I took and home thinking maybe something got loose in shipping so I too it home and followed the manual on how to disassemble it and clean. After reassembly the problem was worse. I called Kimber and they told me to send it to them. That was the good but the bad is 3-4 week turnaround. Should do better for new product out of the box. I bought the 7 round magazines so I could get a better grip and Would recommend the same for those with big hands. The sights were easy to use and when it did shoot it was accurate with little recoil. Would have scored it higher if I didn't have to send it back after one use. more

wouldn't bet my life on it
i bought the micro9 cse, intending to use it as a carry gun. it's a beautiful pistol, and is quite accurate. many people recommended a 500-round break-in with 147 grain ammo. well, i did that and found that only one prem...ium brand of ammo initially was reliable. everything else caused it to jam, a problem that gradually disappeared as i neared the magic 500. the manual recommends cleaning it every 100 rounds. my experience has been that my kimber starts jamming at that point. it's a pleasure to shoot otherwise, but as a concealed carry gun? i wouldn't bet my life on it! more

Considering that the laser grip itself could set you back over $300 and that the next micro 9 in the lineup that has the laser grips is over $800 I'd say this deal is near unbeatable. I suspect that Kimber paints these g...uns at a savings over the labor it takes to get the stainless finishes right, again only a guess. As someone else mentioned here in their review the Crimson Trace grips give not only additional aiming assistance but the rubber piece that houses the activation switch adds good traction. Also note worthy, the Crimson Trace grips are a little fatter than the wood grips and fill the hand a bit better. That said I was surprised how soft it shot next to my Glock 26. Ergonomics are just wonderful for such a little gun. As a word of caution in you plan on just throwing a spare mag in your pocket, mine shed a couple of rounds when my son and I were having an impromptu foot race. I plan on getting a mag holder than retains the mag and the rounds snugly. That said those same mags sure do feed well. Lastly the slide is a bit more olive than expected, I feel it creates a better contrast with the grips, since even in the stock photo they are lighter. Wonderful little gun at an amazing price from Kimber and Bud's Gun Shop. more

This is my second Kimber Micro 9 (the other is a stainless version). I bought this gun for the Crimson Trace grips primarily. The finish is also very nice. The safety is a little stiffer than my other Micro, which I don'...t mind for a carry gun that rides in my appendix holster most of the time. The trigger also is heavier. I suspect that both of those will lighten up a bit over time as I get some rounds through the gun. The Crimson Trace is a game changer in two ways. The first being that the standard micro has a smooth front strap, which some complain about from a grip perspective. I added a Hogue sleeve to my other gun. This one doesn't need that due to the laser activator being located there, which helps in getting a positive grip on the gun. The second is that the laser itself is also, as expected, exceptionally helpful in accurately aiming the firearm - especially from retention. The sights are 3 dot, which is different than the standard micro (all black). The one thing I wish Kimber would do a little differently is to make a 7 round magazine similar to the Sig P938. I actually carry mine with a P938 magazine that had the base pad shaved slightly to fit the gun (tons of videos and instructions on how to do this simple mod). The P938 magazine has a slight curve forward at the very bottom, which gives just a bit more of an area for my pinky to ride without it feeling like it may slip off. The Kimber mag does not have a curve - it is just straight. The 6 round magazine is flush with the bottom of the gun, and I don't care for it at all. Good luck in finding one. They appear to be selling like crazy, and as far as I can tell, are a limited run by Kimber. more

This is a great little gun. Bought it a few days ago, been to the range put 200 rounds though it already. 147 grain for the first 100 and 115 grain for the 2nd 100 both Winchester. Cycled through without to many issues. ...Only thing I had happen was the slide would stay open on occasion (5 times total 4 with 147 1 with 115) as if it was out of ammo but it just simply didn't cycle properly. No jams to report. The crimson trace on off switch on the handle could be a little better it kept coming on despite me turning it off several times. All in all I really enjoyed shooting it. 7yrds roughly 3inch group not my best but certainly not my worst... more

Best in Class in my Opinion
Discreet carry conceal weapons exist by the dozens. Ruger, S&W, Sig, Colt, Kahr, Remington and I've owned one or more from each of those (except Colt). The Kimber Micro 9 CSE is one of the finest shooting, comfortabl...e and reliable. Price wise, Sig & Kahr are up there with this model, though the ones I had came with night sights. Went to the range for the 4th time with the CSE comparing it to the the P938, K9 and R51. All I can say is: I am very impressed with this. If it had the extended mag from the P938 it would be near perfect. It has a better finger extension. The CSE is easier for me to have repeat accuracy and follow up shots. It happens to have a longer sight radius which may be the advantage. The CSE trigger feels better than the P938. It is not an inexpensive firearm like a BG380 or LCP, but it is a 9mm but carries as easily as those. I've owned them as well and I would go for the Kimber again. Bought mine at the Turkey Friday sale and saved $100 so it was reasonable. Bought replacement night sights at the Kimber website on sale around Xmas. Go try one, compare it to the P938. As hard as I try, I cannot be as accurate with the P938. more

Purchased my first Kimber from Buds Gun Shop. Customer service was excellent. I ordered my pistol on a Monday and it was in my dealer's hands on Thursday. The pistols was packed well and in perfect condition. The fit and... finish was excellent and performance was flawless. I ran 50 rounds through it with no issues. Size was very similar to my Glock 43 and it even fits in the same holster! Factory installed laser makes it a bargain at Bud's price. Only negative I can say is getting used to a grip laser. When handling the pistol and placing the trigger finger along the side it blocks the laser beam from projecting to the target. It takes some practice to place your finger lower along the trigger guard and this eliminates the issue. Great little pistol. Very light and asthecally pleasing. more

    Excellent handgun!
After having a Ruger LCP for a while, I decided to upgrade to a different pocket sized carry gun. As I am fond of the 1911 design, I decided to look mainly at the Kimber micro, Sig P238, and Colt Mustang. I preferred the... look of the Kimber a bit more than the Sig and Colt so when they came on sale at Cabelas, I picked one up. I cannot be happier with this pistol. I have many Sigs and Colts and love them, but this is my first Kimber. This gun has never malfunctioned on me and is vastly easier to shoot than the Ruger LCP. I can actually shoot this pistol about the same as my full size 1911's which is usually unheard of for a gun this size. The gun is larger than the LCP, but it still can fit inside a pants pocket just fine with a holster. I would recommend this pistol to anyone looking for a discreet pocket carry gun that is easy to shoot. The only thing I wish was different was that it came with two magazines from the factory. more

    Micro 9
The Micro 9 is a very attractive pistol. It shoots well, it's easy to carry. I have not had any problems with the functionality of the gun. I also own a Sig P938 which I prefer over the Kimber Micro 9 . The Micro 9 doesn...'t come with night sights, an extended magazine, ambidextrous safety, or a lifetime warranty. I bought 2 kimber extended magazines, but they don't fit as well as my modified P938 magazines, the finger extension is too narrow and leaves a gap with the Kimber extended magazines. Lives up to my previous Kimber experience
I've have a Kimber Pro Carry 2 1911, but I wanted an additional weapon for concealed carry. It seemed natural to get something with similar trigger action, so I had familiarity with it. I felt like the Micro Advocate acc...omplished this and from the first time I fired it, it felt like an old friend. Additionally, the G10 grip was longer and more secure in my larger hands. Also, it's thinness and light weight adds to the comfort of concealment. Finally, though Kimbers get slammed for "break-in" period, I have put 300 rounds through it with 0 (nada) FTF or FTE. It's a real value. more

    Good little ccw
Recoil spring needs to last longer than 1000 rounds other than that great little gun for carry. Really like the night sights very bright. Shot just about every kind of ammo .It did not like coated bullets .Seems they dra...g on the feed ramp. more

    Defective
Purchased new at Cabellas. First day at range, the slide lock pin pops out when slide is racked. Sent to Kimber for repair. After over one month, the gun has not returned. Not what you want from a high priced gun.

Recoil is noticeable but not an issue. more

Hands down the best shooting 380 small frame I've ever shot well worth the money. Get the extended 7 round mag for even better feeling grip.

Small and yet powerful, makes this the kind of weapon for concealed carry. Kimber makes quality.

    "Born in your hand"
Literally feels as if it was born in your hand. I experienced a short break in period (~ the first 30 rounds) with a few failure to load & eject. After that, she flawlessly launched almost 200 rounds of assorted JHP ...and FMJ ammo down range. Accuracy was great, hitting the bull from various distances all the way out to 25 yards! And did I mention this thing is comfortable? Recoil is mild and I could've shot all day without causing a sore hand. Extremely light and well balanced. I chose the Advocate bi-tone model with G10 grips, night sights, and extended mag. The night sights provide nice target acquisition and I like the extended mag allowing my pinky on the grip. I'm sure you can get a Sig P238 and be happy but this was my choice and I don't regret it. If you're not scared of the price - it's worth every penny! more

    Micro CDP Rocks!
This little gun shoots crazy accurate! Small groupings, and soft recoil, not much more than a .22 magnum. Very comfortable in the hand, controls easy to reach. Trigger is fantastic. For any of you with weak hands or tend...ency to get trigger finger/thumb due to previous injuries, this slide is easy to rack, easy to take down, and overall a great little gun. Stick to Remington HTP for most reliable feeding for self-defense rounds. Tough choice, between the two, but I think i prefer the Micro CDP for daily carry over my G42. Now if I could just get the holster from Kimber I ordered weeks ago..... more
