Marlin 1895 SBL Features

The Marlin 1895 SBL has a stainless steel construction and features a wood laminate stock and forend that include deep checkering for a positive grip.  The large loop lever is designed for anyone with big hands or anyone wearing gloves to have a safe and comfortable grip on the rifle while firing and cycling the action.  Its rear aperature “ghost ring” sight gives a clear and precise sight picture while the long optics rail allows the user to mount almost any scope to the rifle.  Its spiral-fluted bolt does more than please the eye as the spiral cuts reduce surface area to prevent parts from freezing together in cold environments.

Marlin 1895 SBL Capacity

Chambered in .45-70, the Marlin 1895 SBL sports a capacity of 6 rounds in its magazine tube under the barrel.  To load the rifle, rounds are inserted through the loading gate on the right side of the receiver into the magazine tube.  The large-loop lever cycles and a round is loaded into the chamber.  To unload the rifle, point the gun in a safe direction and keep your finger off of the trigger while you cycle the lever until all of the rounds have been fed into and extracted from the chamber.
With a barrel length of 18.5 inches, an overall length of 36.5 inches and a weight of 8 pounds, this lever gun is easily carried through dense vegetation.  Designed for large game hunting like velociraptors, the shorter barrel gives you a compact and mobile firearm without sacrificing too much muzzle energy.

Marlin 1895 SBL Ergonomics

Ergonomics
Originally designed by John Browning and made by Winchester, the 1895 lever action rifle offered shooter-friendly ergonomics.  Marlin’s 1895 BDL offers those same ergonomics that give you a good trigger pull but with better checkering on the grips for more control and ghost ring sights for easier aiming.  The comb of the stock allows for easy use of the factory-installed iron sights while the scope rail sits low enough to give you good cheek placement on the stock if you’re using optics.  The large-loop action lever allows year-round use as it accommodates the use of heavy gloves by the shooter.

Marlin 1895 SBL Fit & Finish

The stained laminate wood on the Marlin 1895 BDL offers an incredibly strong and durable stock and forend, and is sealed to protect the wood from damage by rain and sweat.  The checkering on the grips is deep and aggressive to help maintain control of the rifle in adverse conditions.  The stock matches up nicely to the receiver around the grip, so you don’t have any of the ugly “proud wood” ruining the lines of your rifle.  Meanwhile, the metal components are all stainless steel, short of the anodized aluminum scope rail, to give you protection against rust and corrosion.
