The purchase was made easy. Being from IL I had to send a photo of my FOID card, got a respite the next day, my rifle came in after a week. No issues with it, only shot a few rounds with it. But over all logistics I’ll give it a A+, along with pricing, A+, I’m not a fan of the online chat for customer service, I had to wait 30 minutes before I actually chatted with a rep, so I’ll give that a B. I will be doing more business with Buds over all. ...more
Great Budget Gun
I bought this gun back in 2016 and replaced scope with a Nikon Prostaff. Zeroed it at 100 yards. I dropped a 10 point stone cold at 129 yards. I own two other hunting rifles that are considered “budget” rifles and I like this one the best. My brother decided to get into hunting and he went and bought one. He likes his too. ...more
Great .308 for the money!
Bought this March of 2018. Replaced the scope with a Holosun Red Dot after purchase. Have put approx. 60 rounds of .308 through it, With the unmagnified red dot, I have a 1' group at 50 yards and a 3' group at 100 yards. It would be a lot tighter with a good magnified scope. It seems to like the Federal Fussion 150 grain. I also got a decent group with the cheap $10 box of 145 grain Monarch ammo. I like the gun so far. Nice trigger, factory set at 3 pounds, nice smooth bolt. The plastic magazine works surprisingly well. It's light and the recoil pads controls the recoil well, no bruises after 60 rounds. Was a light nervous due to mixed reviews, but I'm happy I got it. ...more
my gf bought this for me as an early Christmas gift... I love it! scope isn't top shelf but it holds a zero.. I zeroed it in at 100 yards after they bore sighted it at the store for me and I've been knocked deer down every since! even dropped on with a head shot at 80 yards! overall good gun, inexpensive, lightweight, performs very well. I would def recommend this gun. next season I'm going to go with a nikom or leupold scope for sure ...more
After one month I finally got the opportunity to test fire this Mossberg. I was looking for a nice tough economical deer hunting gun & this is it. Ok the scope is not the best (I am removing it & replacing it with a 4-12 x 44 Vortex Crossfire 2) The scope that came with it is being put on a .22LR Remington "little critter" gun. Ok, the rifle right out of the box shot a nice tight grouping at 100 yards. It was one inch high & one inch to the right. (4 clicks on each scope and she was dead center) The bolt slides nice and gently, does not bind at all. The stock pad does an excellent job of cushioning the recoil. I chose this because of the Mossberg name. I have a Mossberg 500 shotgun & it has never disappointed...neither will the Patriot 22. For the money it is a GREAT gun! ...more
