Phoenix Arms HP25A Capacity

The Phoenix HP25 is chambered in .25ACP and ships with a single-stack 9 round magazine to give the gun the same overall height as the HP22.  10 round magazines are available for this gun as well and are built with a +1 floor plate extension.

Phoenix Arms HP25A Ergonomics

Ergonomics
The HP25 has a rather unique control setup.  While the magazine release sits behind the trigger guard like modern pistols, the other controls are less intuitive.  The safety and slide lock share a lever which blocks the trigger as well as lock the slide either in its forward or rearward position.  There is also a slide-mounted safety that sits to the left of the rear sight that blocks the firing pin.  The grip of the pistol offers a 2-finger grip for users with larger hands, and people with smaller hands can get a full-handed grip with the use of the extended 10 round magazines.

Phoenix Arms HP25A Fit & Finish

The HP25 is a gun that is rather hit-or-miss when it comes to reliability.  It can be picky with the ammo which has to be paired with a specific oil which has to be matched to the gun, so there’s 3 major factors that go into whether or not the gun will cycle.  Every part, however, is carefully machined for comfort and presentation as well as function, it just doesn’t have the most reliable design.

Fit and Finish

Phoenix Arms HP25A Concealability

Concealability
The HP25 measures 6 inches long, 4.5 inches tall and 0.9 inches wide making it one of the most concealable semi-automatic pistols on the market.  Its small size does well to prevent discomfort when appendix carrying, and its size also allows it to be discreetly carried in just about any location such as in a handbag, pocket, or even an ankle holster.
