Great Hunting Shotgun
My dad bought me this gun for my 18th birthday -- I am now 26 and this shotgun is still doing great. I use it to shoot clay targets and dove so far and it is great. It is my only shotgun and I plan on buying a shorter barrel for it so it can double as home defense. If you are on the fence - go hold one - they are great in the hands ...more
So far I have only fired this shotgun one time. I put 75 rounds of 2.75" target loads through it the other day at my shooting club. The weapon fired flawlessly. Also felt there was less recoil with this gun than with my Remington 870 pump or Browning over/under. I would recommend anyone in the market for a semi automatic 12 gauge gun to look at this one. For the money spent, I feel that I got a superior product. ...more
I'm happy with my purchase. I immediately put 100 rounds of Remington Gun Club ammo through it on the trap field, and it worked flawlessly. Point, shoot, smoked target. The gun has a very nice feel and weight. The recoil is minimal. Like the 1100 or the 870, the 11-87 is very easy to clean. The forend had what looked like a pinhead-sized hole that was filled in with some kind of epoxy, and it left a small bump. I didn't discover it until after I had taken possession from the FFL, so that's my fault. I guess if it really bothers me down the line I can replace it. Shipping took two weeks from the time of order. ...more
Excellent shotgun. Shot approximately 50 rounds shooting clays. Used a variety of shells to determine if it would jam if Remington shells weren't used. No malfunctions. Fluid and well balanced gun. Would recommend to anyone. I have owned Remington firearms for over 20 yrs. Quallity and workmanship is second to none.
Any 11-87s in 3.5 inch now?
I would check for availability directly with Remington Customer Center at TEL: 1-800-243-9700.
Jamming
Macon, I would give it a thorough cleaning/lube 1st and recheck for function. Trying some different ammo would be wise also. If this does not pan out I would contact Remington for advice/service at 1-866-662-4869 or 1-800-243-9700.
