Ruger Ar-556 Mpr Capacity

The Ruger AR-556 MPR, as the name would imply, is chambered in 5.56x45mm NATO (.223 Remington) and feeds from AR15 pattern STANAG compatible magazines.  This gives the gun a standard magazine capacity of 30 rounds.  Smaller 10 and 20 round magazines are easy to find, as are larger 40 round polymer magazines.  This rifle can also accept the 60 and 100 round drum magazines as well as the “coffin” style quad-stack magazines.

Ruger Ar-556 Mpr Feature

The Ruger AR-556 MPR is a semi-automatic, gas operated rifle that runs on the same internal piston action as a typical AR15.  This rifle is built with an 18 inch barrel that is paired with a rifle-length gas system that keeps the rifle from being over-gassed.  This leads to less felt recoil, far less wear and tear on the parts, and less carbon fouling.  The barrel is surrounded by a 15” free-floating handguard that provides a full-length top rail allowing you to mount almost any optics setup.

Ruger Ar-556 Mpr Ergonomics

The MPR is built with right-handed fire controls but it makes up for it with better furniture.  The 15 inch handguard offers plenty of real estate up front for holding and for attaching front grips, the pistol grip is a Magpul MOE+ grip that fills the hand far more comfortably than the $3 Mil-Spec grip, and the Magpul adjustable stock allows the user to change the length of pull to fit their grip.

Ruger Ar-556 Mpr Mobility

Measuring 35 inches long with an unloaded weight of 6.8 pounds, the MPR offers identical mobility to the standard AR15 with better ergonomics, muzzle velocity and range with less recoil.  This high-speed/low-drag setup is a perfect entry-level rifle for people who want to get serious about competition shooting.

Ruger Ar-556 Mpr Fit-N-Finish

The Ruger AR-556 MPR is built on a receiver set forged by Cero Fabrications as denoted by they keyhole mark behind the brass deflector.  The barrel features a black-nitrided coating to negate the need for a protective film of oil, and the trigger is honed to have a 4.5 pound pull.
