At this point i could not be more happier regarding my purchase from Buds. A great buy with "exceptional service." I talked to my Buddy and he has ordered one of these for his Daughter to carry and also, is ordering one ...for his personal use. A really nice shooting, accurate gun at a fantastic price. If you are in need you have to consider this little fellow! more

Really nice CCW pistol because it has some very desirable features, at least for me. I really like the fact that there are no sharp edges and the pistol is molded all the way around. It also has a manual safety which for... me is a plus. I also love the trigger, and the very thin profile. No better pistol for the money. more

I was looking for an everyday, conceal, carry - something different from my S&W 9MM Shield so I got the Ruger and I love it. It's light weight and easy to hide. The only problem I had when I went to the range was the cli...p didn't slide in easily so when I went to fire and just clicked. What I realized later is that I had either give it a good smack on the bottom or hold the release and push it up; I'm assuming it was because it was new. more

Ordered my Ruger LC9s from Buds and received it in less than a week. Excellent on line service. Not only happy with Buds, but the Ruger LC9S is and excellent pistol. First hundred rounds at the range were a joy. Trigger ...is wonderful and may seem a little light if you're used to something like a Glock or heavier. It was just a little more snappy in felt recoil than some of my larger pistols. I actually shot it better than expected. It was my first "small" pistol and I was expecting a learning curve. All in all, it is excellent and will be my EDC after a few hundred more rounds. Thanks Buds. more

Ordered this gun over a Labor Day weekend; it arrived at my FFL by the following Friday. Always easy and quick service with Buds. I use the LC9s as my carry gun because it is very small and I prefer a manual safety for a... gun that I have in my pocket. The trigger is nice for a gun of this size and it feels pretty good in my hands despite being tiny. I've put about 200 rounds of cheap range FMJ through it with no issues whatsoever (except for my mediocre aim of course). more

Hello. Bud's is great BTW. This gun was a slight disappointment at first. I took it to the range new out of the box and ran 75 rounds through it. It jammed a number of times. I was using a Ruger 9 round extended magazine... instead of the standard 7 round mag it comes with. I called Ruger. Told me to clean and oil gun and retest it with the standard 7 round mag. Put 75 more rounds through it. Not one jam. Ruger told me that the manual does not tell you to clean the gun first, but Ruger recommends you do this. Their guns are packed with small amount of grease in order to off set any long period storage by a seller. Cleaning the LC9s solved my jamming problem. PS I hate to admit this, but, personally, I prefer my Taurus 709 slim as my carry weapon. It's never jammed (over 200 rounds) and I prefer the trigger, even though u must get used to it more

I can't praise Bud's enough for their fast, reliable and expert service.Upon picking up the pistol at my FFL dealer , the LC9S was exactly as described. I recently purchased the LC9s and am very pleased overall. Buds: Excellent experience with Buds. Ordered the gun on 6/10. Picked it up at FFL on 6/15. Great experience, great price, no hassles at all. LC9s: Gun arrived a...s expected, with all one magazine, flat plate for magazine etc. All in order. I took it to the range the next day, placed a little oil on the rails, a little on the barrel, fired 100 rounds of Winchester 115gr 9mm through it. I purchased this box of 9mm ammo 9 years ago, so it might have contributed to some of the issues. After about 65-75 rounds had one stovepipe round, two times the slide locked rearward and had to be pulled to allow the next round to chamber. Finished the 115 grain and switched to a new box of Winchester 124gr NATO rounds. Fired 50 rounds with no issues. Accuracy: The three dot sights are 'OK', but I am not an expert by any means. Being what I consider a casual shooter I was able to keep rounds within the 8 ring on a standard target at 21 feet. Accuracy improved as I fired the gun more and got used to the action. The liked the trigger and it was lighter than I expected. I have large hands, but the grip was fine, not too small. Better than I expected. I fired with the extension on the magazine which I think helped. I did accidentally hit the magazine eject button twice while firing which caused the magazine safety to activate. I consider this operator error and not a malfunction. I prefer the weapon with the manual safety over the LC9s-Pro with trigger safety only, personal preference. I believe this will make a great CC gun and with more training and new ammunition it should operate just fine. more

    Great pocket carry
Weapon has a slim profile great for conceal carry especially on a small framed individual. Shot group was tight and action was smooth. They are right, great trigger and short reset for a follow up sho...t. The reset is much shorter than the DB9, it surprised me a couple times on my first range session. I am extremely pleased with my purchase of the Ruger LC9s, a 9mm striker fired semi automatic pistol. The trigger action is smooth and crisp, not long or gritty, which helps with accuracy. Recoil with this little pistol ...is not bad either. With 7 cartridges in the magazine and one in the chamber for a total of 8, I feel I have an adequate number of rounds if needed. Personally, in addition to the trigger safety I also like having the thumb safety this pistol provides, as I always carry one in the chamber. Though this is a small and compact pistol, it is very much capable of providing many years of ample protection for me and my loved ones whenever needed. Ruger is a well known first class manufacturer of quality guns---whether pistols, revolvers or rifles. Being compact, the LC9s is easily concealed with the right holster. I have made a great choice in purchasing this pistol, and when you make the decision to buy one of these from Bud’s, I feel certain you will be pleased as well. The reason I said “buy one of these from Bud’s” is because I believe Bud’s has the best prices and best customer service anywhere around! Thanks Bud’s for another great purchasing experience!  more

I eventually settled on the LC9s as my carry gun, and overall I am happy with my decision. It is a small pistol, but not so small that you feel like you can't control it in your hands. I think the pinky extension is need...ed on the magazine to make it more controllable. The fit and finish is pretty good, but my magazine release button is rusting for some reason. I've lubed it several times, but I think because I carry IWB and in summer it is right up against my skin, that perspiration has lead to rust. Maybe use a galvanized metal for the release next time? It took me a while to get accurate with a single stack 9mm. They are not easy weapons to shoot. It takes practice. I like the ergonomics of the LC9s, and every edge and corner is rounded and designed for effective conceal carry. Well thought out. My biggest gripe with this pistol is the sights. They are very small, low-profile white dots, and difficult for me to see, even in daylight. I think Ruger could have done a better job with that. I'm considering adding a Crimson Trace unit to the trigger guard for rectify the shortcoming. I know this is not a 25 yard gun, and at self-defense distances the stock sights may be okay, but I want to make certain. I did have to send this gun back to Ruger the first month I had it. I had some FTE problems that I believe stemmed from a magazine lip issue Ruger had on some of the early production ones. They took the gun in, worked on it, and sent me two new magazines all in about a week's time. Haven't had one problem since. Fantastic customer service and one of the reasons I buy products from Ruger. The trigger is okay. Nothing great. It has a bit of take-up, and the reset seems a bit short to me, but you get used to it. All in all, I am happy with my LC9s, but there are some areas that need improving. more

I really like this gun. It has a great trigger IMO. I was able to consistently shoot good groups with it. I only have 100 rounds through it, but it has been flawless. It's very thin and concealable, yet fun to shoot. I w...ish it came with more magazines, but for the price it's hard to beat. Now I have a gift idea to tell people! more

I'm a couple boxes in and the gun is just what I expected. Trigger pull is much better than the LC9, crisp and much shorter. First 5 shots were a little wild, but then I pulled it right in and started shooting the small ...groups similar to my XDS. Ruger really needs to include an extra mag, but I knew that before I ordered it. more

What else can I say....I saved about $80 on this gun. I called my local gun store I work with, and they told me to buy it. Have not fired it yet and don't need to to know I got a great piece for an awesome price. Thank y...ou buds for not being a price gouging dealer. Super happy with the purchase!!! more

This is my 2nd purchase from buds. This gun is great. Easy to conceal, light weight, and has a great trigger. Couldn't find a lower price anywhere. It's always a pleasure to shop with BUDS.

I agonized about this review a little because I really wanted to give 5 stars but because of a few issues I really can't. First of all, my gun came with a faulty magazine. After calling Ruger customer service, which was ...great by the way, it turns out they had a bad batch of the usa manufactured magazines. They mailed my replacement out today with a return envelope for the bad magazine. Second, they slide release on this thing is pretty much unusable. It's so tight that you have to use two finger to release it or hold the gun at a really weird angle to get enough leverage. I'm sure over time it will loosen up but still it's not very well done. Third, the takedown on this is a bit of a hassle with the latch you have to lower in order to push out the takedown pin. It's not a deal breaker but still it's a pain in the butt. Finally, I bought this gun to be my wife's concealed carry but her hands are so small and the grip so narrow that it's too painful for her to shoot it. Having said all that when I used the italian manufactured magazines I bought from another dealer the gun ran flawlessly. It shoots where you aim it and it runs ball and hollow point ammo without a hitch. And yes, the trigger everyone talks about is great. It's incredibly light and the reset is not as noticeable as a Glock but it's still easy to feel. Overall, I'm happy with the gun and plan to keep it as my own conceal carry because of the weight and how thin it is. I was disappointed at the bad mag it came with but Ruger's customer service is top notch. Buds as always was great to deal with. Love their lay-a-way program more

I Like it ! Crisp trigger, little felt recoil. I put Talon grip on mine big difference. I have put over two hundred rounds through it with no problems. The magazines for the older Ruger LC9 fit without any issues. I have... only used Ruger mags and can't speak about the after market ones. The Ruger extended 10 round ones fit nice, of course here in New York we only put in seven bullets. No really, we only put 7 rounds in the 10 round mags. I thought the grip would be too small for my large mitts but no such problem the 7 round mags with the floor plate extension feel good and secure. I'm old school and like the mag safety and thumb safety. Get the Pro Model if you don't want them. If you do like the thumb safety my advice is, Practice, Practice, Practice. Easy to forget and bring the weapon up and squeeze and nothing, could be a costly mistake. I like this weapon a lot for the money it's hard to find a better compact 9 mm. Never purchased a gun from Bud's ? It's easy, just shop around for a good FFL to handle the paperwork for you. Some are much better then others. Check the costs. more

Bought this gun from Buds because of the review I read from Hickock45 on YouTube. This has to be my favorite handgun I've ever fired and is now my daily carry. It's feels so light and thin and I've been putting the round...s on target consistently in tight groups. I also own an XD-40 that I'm all over target with so that should tell you something. I've put around 200 rounds through it so far and not one malfunction. My only beef is the magazine disconnect so I should have gone with the LC9s Pro but Buds was out of stock at the time. I may eventually get one of those too! more

This pistol operated just fine. I had a few stovepipes in the first 50 rounds but I determined that was me and not the pistol (limp-wristing). The one issue I had with the pistol was the provided dummy orange plastic mag...azine. It inserted with slight resistance and then could not be removed. I had to tap it from the top with a small hammer and wooden dowel (with magazine release button depressed) to get it out. I used a Dremel tool with an abrasive wheel and some fine sandpaper on the dummy mag. to get it to work smoothly. Dummy mag. was oversized at top. The real mags work nice and smooth. Suggestion to Ruger: try these plastic dummy mags in the pistol before you ship product to customer. This is why I gave product a 4. On the other hand the dummy mag. is handy when cleaning/cycling the pistol. Pistol is accurate and sights are very good. more

I traded my Nano for the LC9S. The trigger on the LC9S is great. Accuracy is excellent. I bought the LC9S with the safety because I firmly believe that with a light trigger the safety is a necessity.. I have a range on m...y property and shoot all the time. I also own the SR9c with similar ergonomics. The LC9S has a great feel to it. Felt recoil is slightly more than the Nano but manageable. LC9s cycles .very smoothly and magazine insertion is very solid. more

The handgun is just beautiful - i love it. Very good finish and quality from Ruger. Feels great in the hand and I'm 6' tall. Very easy to shoot. Very accurate. Great trigger. Must fit with Crimson trace -- all dough expe...nsive = definitely worth it IMO it if u plan to CC. Now for negatives: 1. Comes with only 1 mag - in the name of god - is it that expensive to include a 2nd? 2. The locking pin that allows for disassembly is annoying - I just don't like loose parts. Overall Excellent - A Must have. more

Nice quality firearm that points and shoots well. However, it is considerably larger than the Ruger LCP and notably larger than a Kimber Solo. The size is my own personal issue and Ruger makes fine shooting handguns at a...ffordable prices. It will be great for the auto but for CC I'll stick to my Solo. more

First gun ordered online - Buds gun shop is just extremely exceptional with their impeccable customer service experience and shipping. The gun itself - I have own and put over 1000+ rounds in a SIG P2022 9mm, XDM 9.mm, T...aurus PT111 9.mm, all clearly full sized weapons with great triggers but nothing compares to this gun. Went to the range with my brother (who is barely familiar with handguns) and he picked this weapon up and immediately destroyed the bullseye at 7 yards. We moved the target back to 25 yards and still hit an extreme tight group within 1 inch of the bullseye. This gun is simply point and shoot. Extremely beginner friendly gun to anyone. I couldn't highly recommend this gun enough. In 200 rounds it has established incredible faith and accuracy that no other gun has before in me and is now my every day carry over my trusty springfield XDM. Seriously, this gun and trigger is stunning for the size of it. Recoil is barely there (I did have a hogue jr' grip installed) fits in your pocket and is as accurate, if not more with the new and improved trigger as a full sized weapon. This is one gun you will never have to question trading in or regretting purchasing it. Thanks again to Bud's pleasant experience with getting this gun to me. more

Received product in a timely period. The LCs is built very well and fits well in the hand. Finish is excellent. Recoil is very managable for a pistol this size. The only bad comment is it shoots higher than point of aim.... more

The difference in the trigger on the LC9S vs LC9 is night and day. The LC9S is fantastic, feels great in the hand and still fits in the pocket. For the price and Buds fast shipping you cannot beat this piece. It would ha...ve been nice to have two mags instead of one plus the orange dummy mag but this keeps the price of entry low. I highly recommend this weapon. more

I have been going thru light carry auto 9mms for about 2 years, never could find one that I really liked. I had a LC9 and liked most everything about it BUT the trigger pull, while fairly light, it was very long. You set... up on your target and begin pulling the trigger, you pull and pull and pull some more; by the time it fires you have lost your site picture and thus miss the target you set up on. I just couldn't live with that, so the LC9 moved on. Recently got an email from Ruger announcing the new LC9S, Claimed shorter, lighter trigger pull. With the upgrade the should be just what I was looking for, Ordered 1 from Buds and finally got a chance to shot a few days ago. I had dry fired it some, but my very first shot almost came as a surprise. Set up on target and began trigger pull and Bang it fired and the hit was within an inch or so of my target aiming spot, Had to adjust my thinking about how to shot the gun, very light trigger pull (compared prev LC9) and knew just when it would fire. I ran thru a box of ammo and the more I shot, the more I liked this gun. I am 78 years old and have been shooting a lot during those years. Anyway, I loved this sweet little gun and would recommend it to anyone looking for great concealed carry weapon. Breaks down easy for cleaning and hides on your person very well. more
