The Ruger Mark IV Rimfire Pistols have the classic look of the Mark III with a simple, one-button takedown for quick and easy field stripping. A recessed button in the back of the frame allows the upper receiver to tilt up and off of the grip frame without the use of tools. The bolt simply slides out of the receiver and the barrel can be properly cleaned from chamber to muzzle. The MKIV includes other significant improvements such as a one-piece grip frame that is precision CNC-machined from a solid piece of aluminum alloy; an ambidextrous manual safety and a redesigned bolt stop for more ergonomic operation. The magazine drops free on release for faster reloads and a redesigned magazine disconnect safety prevents discharge when the magazine has been removed. Internal improvements include changes to the hammer, sear, bolt and firing pin for smoother, more reliable feeding. Specific features vary by model, but the legendary, one-piece barreled receiver and internal cylindrical bolt construction remain the same. The robust design ensures permanent sight-to-barrel alignment and higher accuracy potential than conventional moving-slide designs. Includes two 10-round magazines. Ruger Mark IV Tactical Features

The Ruger Mark IV Tactical is a semi-automatic .22 caliber pistol that is designed for precision target shooting with improved modularity.  Operating on a direct-blowback action, this pistol is built with a 4.4 inch barrel capped with a ½-28 thread on the muzzle.  The barrel is topped with an iron sight setup that is adjustable for both windage and elevation and there’s also a Picatinny rail for mounting optics in case you want to toss a red dot sight on top.

Ruger Mark IV Tactical Capacity

The Ruger Mark IV Tactical is chambered in .22LR and feeds from single-stack 10 round magazines.  These magazines have a very handy mechanism where a knob is connected to the follower.  While this was included in order to have a reliable last round bolt hold open device, it can also be pressed down by the user to make loading the magazines easier.

Ruger Mark IV Tactical Ergonomics

Ergonomics
The Mark IV Tactical was designed to copy the hand feel of the Colt M1911A1 and includes an ambidextrous safety and a bolt catch lever set up for right-handed use.  The charging handle is attached to the back of the bolt and is very easy to pull backwards.  The grips of the gun are completely interchangeable with any 1911 grip panels, thus offering excellent aftermarket support to further improve the ergonomics.

Ruger Mark IV Tactical Fit & Finish

The Ruger Mark IV Tactical is built with a polymer frame to reduce the weight, also because it’s a .22 and how strong do you need it?  Instead of a slide, the Mark IV uses a tube-style receiver in order to have a fixed barrel.  This allows for much higher recoil since the sights and barrel are connected in a much more sturdy manner.
