    Amazing, especially for the money
After checking out literally dozens of different 9mm semiautomatic sidearms I narrowed it down to a couple different Sigs and the Ruger. None of the Glock were comfortable for me. Balance was off and the grips were uncom...fortable. Same issues with H&K, Beretta...etc. I went to my local indoor gun range and rented the 2 Sigs along with the Ruger. Performance wise it was close with the Ruger slightly more accurate than the P226. The Ruger has less kick and muzzle lift. Considering the Ruger was less than half the price of the Sigs it was a easy choice. My wife went with a Glock 42 as it was the most comfortable for her. I am 6'6" and she is 5'1" so obviously what is comfortable for me wouldn't be for her. I suggest narrowing down to a few choices and then renting them to find out which is best for you. more

    Great Pistols
I own both the SR9C and 40C. I have put several hundred of rounds through each of them with out a single issue. Both are extremely accurate and eat every type of ammo I've put in them. I used my 40C to qualify for my CCW...P and my daughter used the 9C to qualify for her permit. The trigger is just truly amazing, and the guns just perform flawlessly. I trust my life to mine and for good reasons. more

Great buy for the money, love it!
I bought this gun about 7 years ago and I have not regretted the decision at all. It was between this and a Glock but I wanted to save a little money and thanks to some online videos, I went with this and never looked ba...ck. Easy to handle, feels great in your hands, easy to clean, a lot of safety features (optional) and just a great gun. more

    Outstanding Handgun, Top-Shelf
I consider myself a die-hard Ruger fan, as I have purchased nine rifles and handguns since 1986. Well, after two-years of deep contemplation, I finally yielded to temptation and purchased the SR9 Model 3321 (Black Nitrid...e). I just couldn’t resist any longer. I truly love the SR40 I purchased years ago; however, I found myself regretting not going with the nine every time I bought ammo. All I can say about the SR9 is that the pistol is truly awesome! I’m talking serious type awesome. I find that the grip, balance, reliability, and accuracy is right on point with my SR40–but with a lot less recoil to boot. During my first outing at the range, I shot over 150 rounds of various brands and weights without a single hiccup (just as I expected). Right out of the box, the SR9 hit center-mass on the target from a bench rest. It ate every brand and type of ammo I threw at it. And I am totally impressed with how accurate the pistol shoots free-hand; I’m talking scary accurate. Lastly, I don’t believe there is a better performing nine-millimeter on the market as far as price is concerned. I was blessed to have found mine 15% off the original price. So my long-suffering and contemplating paid dividends after all. The bottom line is that I am so happy with my SR9. It definitely satisfies my need to own and carry a reliable, versatile, accurate, and quality built firearm. Outstanding firearm—top shelf!!! more

    Excellent 9mm
I have the ruger SR9E. I'm very happy with my purchase. This is my first 9mm handgun. I have a few ruger firearms and love all of them. Easy to use, well built, good all american company. I've only put 100 rounds through... the sr9 so far but it was smooth, accurate and no jams. The grip felt very comfortable while shooting and the recoil was mild. For a first handgun, I'm very pleased. more

    SR40c Not Reliable
I bought the Ruger SR40c new at cabelas and it is the most unreliable gun i've ever owned. It is finicky about what ammo you use. I jams frequently and must be loaded in such a way that it totally inconvenient. I contact...ed Ruger with my problems and they said it's just how the sr40 is and didn't offer to fix it. . I read several online forums where people explain similar issues. I would never want to depend on a gun that jams this much. Especially for an every day carry. I sold it and got a glock 22. Best decision I've made in a while. more

    Deal of the decade!
I've had my SR9c for going on 3-4 years now. This has been a great investment. in this price range you will not find another gun nearly as smooth or reliable. I have probably fired close to 1000 rounds through it and it ...never miss fired or miss fed on me. I've used really good critical defense rounds as well as some real lousy bargain rounds but I have a consistent 2-3 in groupings at 35 ft. For a compact concealed carry gun that is under 500$ and 2 mags(10 and 17rds) this gun is well worth the price. The trigger action is really well done and I would even argue a comparison to my brothers Sig 226 for trigger pull. more

Ruger SR 9E ... simpler the better ...
Ruger, while they make great guns in general, they really seem to hurt their sales by including excessive nanny features. First thing I did was to take the gun apart to remove the magazine disconnect pin. That and the sa...fety switch will turn lot of buyers away from Ruger. I am OK with safety as I can just choose to not use that feature. I like the fact that the removed the loaded chamber indicator on this budget iteration of SR9 and placed a round in the chamber port. Reversible backstrap is a nice feature on a budget gun and also the drift adjustable rear site.Shoots straight with low recoil. Crisp trigger with audible reset but the reset travel is long. Only one mag is included but extra Ruger factory mags can be purchased online at very reasonable prices. The darn safety can get in the way of racking the slide and slide serration borders on being inadequate. more

    Outstanding pistol !!
Always a fan of Ruger revolvers, I never like their semi-autos. After retireing I was looking for a compact 9mm that held more than 6 or 7 rounds. a local gun shop produced a SR9c and it was love at first sight (and firs...t feel ). There is absolutely nothing not to like about this gun! 10-17 round capacity, just right for CC, comfortable, unbelievably accurate, unbelievably reliable ! I have owned about 30 different handguns in my life and never had one that there was'nt something I didn't like..............until now.Wherever I go, my SR9c goes with me! more

    WOW
I've owned my SR40 for almost a year. I've fed it in the neighborhood of 500 rounds with zero malfunctions. This is a very good shooter; both the wife and I had no problems putting the first shot and follow up on target.... Muzzle hop is minimal. Disassembly and cleaning is very simple. As far as ammunition, its cycled everything I've fed it - FMJ, JHP, TNJ, 165 or 180 gr. The 180 gr grouped slightly better. more

    One for the money
I can honestly say I was excited about getting my SR9e. Then I took it to the range. To be expected there where some teething issues. New handgun break in period type stuff. But the gun would stove pipe and fail to extra...ct every third round. I though this was crazy! I've never had an issue with any of my Ruger firearms. Did a little e-research and some fiddling and thought I'd try removing the mag disconnect and that work. Have not had an issue since. this seems to be the Achilles heel of this weapon. Since the mod I would recommend this item to anybody looking for an economical striker fired gun. Just be sure to make the modification. Otherwise you may be sending your gun to ruger for service repeatedly. more

    Light strikes
Purchased this with the idea of it becoming my everyday carry. First range trip I had light primer strikes about 60% of the time, tried federal and winchester. Took it home, cleaned it very well. Second range trip, light... strikes again but this time it also; failed to feed, failed to eject, and failed for the slide to lock back. Contacted Ruger, they had me send it in. Got it back with a laundry list of things they replaced. Basically had a new gun. Range trip 3, light primer strikes 90% of the time with winchester ammo. Currently sent it back to Ruger again. at this point I do not trust this firearm, wish Ruger would replace it with something else completely. Something that goes bang 100% of the time. more

    SR9c, Great Gun
I bought the SR9c for every day carry. I have put around 300 rounds through her so far with no malfunctions. It has, by far, the best stock trigger of any polymer gun I have seen. Far better than my M&P, XD, or even ...my buddy's Glock 19. I did all my shooting at 50 feet or less. Very accurate at that distance. Sights are adequate but I might upgrade them in the future. The only issue at the range was with the 17 round magazine with the sleeve. You really have to apply a lot of force to make sure it locks in. If you are someone who does not like a lot of safeties, this is not the gun for you. Thumb safety is easy to manipulate. Gun conceals great. I use a Desantis Mini Slide OWB holster and it works great. Only real con is I am not a big fan of magazine disconnect safeties. more

    Best Compact 9mm Period
I looked at & researched every 9mm compact I could find & kept coming back to the Ruger SR9C. This gun is so incredibly accurate & flawless in performance that you can not beat it. Does not care what brand of... ammo or what type of bullet, it just flat out works. Even an odd, for 9mm, JSP feed perfect. I read one review in my search that a die hard Glock owner got an SR9C, took it to the range & became very unsatisfied--NOT with the Ruger but with his Glock. He could hit anything with the SR9C right from the box better than his Glock with over 5,000 rounds of practice. This was also my experience, dead on from the box with no tweaking. Also, given the fact that Rugers are 100% American Made & have impeccable customer service, why spend your money on one of those ugly European guns. Did I mention how great this gun also looks--sleek & feels great in the hand. You will not regret getting a Ruger SR9C! more

    Loved it at first!!
When I first bought the SR45 I loved it! It shot well right out of the box with 2" clusters. It felt good and was comfortable with very little recoil for a 45. I used this during my CPL class and the 2nd clip used s...omehow jammed and I was not able to eject the clip. The release button just moved back and forth. I called Ruger (which I think has the best customer service on the planet) and they had the gun back to me in 14 days. Shoots just as good as before and the clip seems to not have any issues. I won't carry this yet because of the issue I had but in time I am sure this will be my carry pistol. Just need to trust its reliability first. more

    Fantastic Pistol
I picked the Ruger SR9C after looking at just about every 9mm pistol there was & I am extremely pleased with my decision. I loaded both the 10 & 17 round mags straight from the box to see how the pistol would fun...ction as-is. Some old books about 8x10 inches that were very thick wre used as targets to test POA vs POI-no adjustment to sights were needed. Since sights were right on straight from the box, I did rapid fire to test being able to keep on target-no problem. Recoil was very well controlled & had no problem keeping sights on target. Next targets were beer cans filled with water for more of a challenge-again no problem blowing the cans up. Both FMJ & JHP ammo was used with zero malfunctions. A pistol that runs 100% right from the box deserves more than 5 stars. I could not have chosen better. more

    very frustrating
This gun shoots straight and feels great in the hand, and I test fired a friend's SR9C before making my purchase. The SR9C was awesome, so I picked up the SR9. Have been to the range twice and put 400 rounds through it, ...but have spent most of my time clearing jams. It's not the ammo. Had the range handgun expert squeeze off a couple of magazines, and he had the same results. I know Ruger has a name for quality and I hear good things about their customer service, but I will be contacting them about making this right. Not pleased at all and am especially frustrated since I don't have money to burn on guns. I made this purchase thinking I would have a handgun of quality at an affordable price. I am hoping that Ruger can set things right here, but am worried since I am now finding lots of complaints online about the same malfunctions. more

    Excellent handgun
Pro's: Compact, accuracy, dependable, well built.Cons: Magazine disconnectI have both the SR9C (Black) and SR40C (Two Tone). Both guns are very accurate and very dependable. Between my daughter and myself, we have put se...veral boxes of ammo through each one and not one hiccup! No FTF or FTE's either. These guns just shoot so great! Just as with any striker fired semiauto, if you don't shoot with a stiff wrist you will get the light strikes and issues with misfires and non-ejections of spent cartridges. I own several handguns by different mfr's and I prefer these over the others by far. Ruger hit it out of the ballpark with these SR's in the compact design. Next up for me will be the 45. more

    Very pleased
I've been target practicing with several different caliber pistols and have discovered that this one is my favorite. I have arthritis and find that this pistol is the easiest to use. My ability to hit the bullseye with t...he SR45 pleases me. Aim, pull, and its on the target. Seven yards, fifteen yards, thirty yards: it doesn't make a difference. Even 50 yards and I'm on the target. Trigger pull is excellent. I am just amazed at how much better this firearm is over my 9mm, 40 S&W, and 38 Special. Its just fun to make the tin can dance. more

    SR 45
After reading the other reviews on the SR 45 I must have a Fluke. After firing 150 rounds and having several irritating jams I changed bullet mfg to Herter. Same problem. The accuracy was terrible. No mater what brand of... ammo used the shots were all over the place. I consider myself a decent shot with a 45 cal. I decided to get closer about 25 feet. I though perhaps the sights were way off even though the gun was sighted in with a laser. Still way off, some within the paper other completely off.The Pros for the SR 45 The gun handles well very little recoil I think less recoil than my old Colt Army 45. I will say If you are unsatisfied Ruger will stand behind the purchase (excellent customer service) more

Most reliable auto I've ever owned.
I have the SR9C, and I have to admit (though it was hard to do) it is more reliable than my HK, Smiths, and Glock 19. I load my own-starting with casting my own RN lead bullets. In shooting an average of 100/week, I have... never had any problems of any kind when shooting this weapon-no ftf, fte-none. RUGER SR 45
I actually love the Glock 21 but I have smaller hands and even with the Gen 4 could not get the right grip on it so I looked at the SR 45. The SR45 was narrower at the grip so easier to hold.and shoot. It got me into the... 45 class in a cost effective way without having to get a 1911. I had to return the 1st gun due to malefunctions and it was destroyed by Ruger, so they should lose a star at least, but Ruger has outstanding customer service and they replaced my gun in a week so they gained a star. The replacement gun is excellent, easy to shoot and has had no issues after more than 1,000 rounds. My son and his friend fired it at the range and it was one of their favorites to shoot. For a 45 the recoil is pretty manageable and I would recommend this gun as an accurate, good gun at a good price point. more

    Great 9mm (SR9c)
Was originally going to buy the SR9 until I actually had a chance to look at and hold the SR9c. To me it was an easy decision as it felt very close to the full size with the 17 rd mag yet with the 10 rd mag it is small e...nough as a CCW gun. I have shot roughly 800 rounds through it with only a few minor issues (stovepipes, fte) which I place all blame on the cheap target ammo I was using. Gun is very comfortable to shoot. No sharp edges or weird shaped grips. Can change the back part of grip to fit your hand along with the extension it comes with for the 10 round mag. Trigger is smooth and crisp. It has been very reliable so far and a real pleasure to shoot compared to a few others Ive used. Highly recommend to anyone! more

Great firearm series, probably wrong time to buy..
I own a couple of pistols from the SR line, and they are all phenomenally fun to shoot. I had two stove pipes in the first couple hundred rounds, but not a single jam or misfire in the thousands of rounds since. Great Concealed Carry
I have owned the SR9c for a year and a half and use it as an everyday concealed carry gun. I love it. At the time I was shopping for a carry gun I found myself confronted with two issues in which to consider. The smaller... .380 caliber semi auto guns which were lighter in weight but they did not present a high capacity magazine over 7 or 8 rounds. The 1911 style guns were big, bulky and heavy but they retained a 15 to 17 round capacity magazines. It was weight versus fire power capacity. Seven or eight rounds goes by fast on a shooting range and slamming a new magazine every few seconds could present a problem in a real life situation. The SR9c bridged that gap. It weighs 23 ounces unloaded compared to 10.2 ounces of the smaller .380 caliber gun. Even though you can feel the additional weight when you are carrying it isn’t that big of a problem. I did not realize it at the time of purchase but the additional weight improves the guns accuracy. The recoil seems less and it allows you to refocus on the target quicker between shots. I found you could squeeze off more rounds in a tighter pattern in less time. The gun comes with a 10 round and 17 round magazine. The 17 round magazine has an extension which actually makes the grip into the size of a 1911 style gun. It has a smart style and a lot of safety features including an indicator to alerts you that there is a cartridge in the chamber. Its safety is well placed and the three dot sites can turn a novice shooter into a marksman. more

    Excellent handgun
Two years ago I purchased the SR40C. It was my first handgun and I had no idea what to expect. Once I learned how to shoot and practiced at my personal gun range I became very proficient with this gun. It was as accurate... or more accurate than the Glocks, Sigs, Smiths or any other handguns my friends let me shoot. It was stolen last year so I bought the SR9C.so to have all my guns in 9mm. This gun fits my hand perfectly, more so than the Glock and M&P. Accuracy is outstanding and felt recoil is minimal. Yes, it has many safety features that other guns do not but you learn to use them properly. Also, it is a very good looking handgun.I love the Loaded When Upindicator. The trigger is better than other mentioned brands. It is outstanding. It is my primary cary weapon. I LOVE THIS GUN. more

    Best Gun
I bought this gun after reading lots of reviews, since this is my first hand gun, I am a Veteran, so I have shot several weapons, but never a hand gun. I am retired and children grown, so I thought I would look into buyi...ng a a gun for protection and hobby. This gun is wonderful, cleaned it first and than headed to range to test it out. Wow love this gun easy to handle and clean and use 115 grain American Eagle 9MM. Had good grouping and passed CCW class in flying colors. This gun is everything it says it is from other positive reviews. more

    SR9c is a great pistol
My wife bought an SR9c and loves it (I like the thing, too.) The only bad things are the slide release being a bit small and stiff, the grip extension being a little loose and the safety lever being a little small, but t...hose are minor issues. It has eaten everything that we have fed it, including aluminum case nylon jacket ammo that a friend said not to buy (too late) because he couldn't get it to run through his Glock. No failures of any kind. It is natural to aim and produces decent groups out to 25 yds, standing unsupported. Field stripping is about as easy as it gets. more

I took my new SR9c to the range today and came away impressed with it. It shot very tight groups and functioned flawlessly. The Ruger SR45
I just wanted to say a few thing's about this fine Ruger firearm that I just obtained last week. It is the Ruger SR-45. The weapon is just outstanding, I have fired around 250 Rounds in the gun and have not had any probl...ems with the weapon. It feed's just about ever kind of ammo that I could feed it and it worked great. I am a Deputy Sheriff's and I carry this weapon as my backup. Goodish gun
It works well, but certain features are very annoying. The ambidextrous release can sometimes cause the mag to fall out while shooting. This usually only happens when you have big hands(because you can accidentally bump ...it when the gun recoils). If you do, I would go with the M&P series by smith and wesson. more

    Misses the mark
First the good. Ruger Quality. Gun goes bang every time you pull the trigger. Decent sights. Crisp clean no creep trigger. Nice grip, thin and flat. Over all an OK range gun. Now to nit pick. The safety is located too fa...r aft on the slide. It is a little small and difficult, if not impossible to operate without breaking your firing grip. Slide release is too small. After market extensions for these 2 problems are not yet available. There is an extended mag release available and this would be a good addition if you have smaller hands. The machining is well done but is very sharp. This can be fixed with with some ultrafine sand paper. There are no forward slide serrations and the forward sides of the slide are highly polished. This makes press checks difficult. I have put about 1000 rounds of various brands of ammunition through this gun in the last month or so with not failures on the firearms part. My wife has adopted it and used it for a 4 day class in Nevada. Accurate enough, and reliable but I watched her struggle with the problems I identified above. I really wanted to like this gun, butt for me, it just misses the mark in too many design issues to be a hit. more

    SR9
My wife bought me this pistol for my birthday last year. It was my 4th ruger that I own. I like the chambered bullet identifier, so there is no question if my pistol is chambered. The accuracy is unbelievable. To put a m...ag (17 rounds) on paper and to be able to cover it with a half dollar at 15 feet is awesome. Wonderful Guns
I started out winning an SR9 at Whitetails banquet, which got me in wanting a SR40. So now i have each and boy do these guns shoot. I have three clips for each and can unload them very fast with putting the lead on targe...t and 25 yards easily, funny thing is the 40 has less felt recoil then the Nine. If you want an accurate fast handling firearm don't be afraid of these! We shoot many reloads, and factory loads the 40 performs without a problem, the Nine doesn't like cheap factory loads with none brass cases, but I don't like them either! more

My wife and I went to our local shooting range to try a few different 9mm pistols. I was looking for something compact because I am going to get my CHL. We shot a Glock 26, The SR9C and a XDM 3". I knew after shooti...ng the SR9C, I would be purchasing one soon. Great gun, smooth trigger. I love the safety features; loaded chamber indicator and manual safety. best pistol
I purchased the new Ruger SR45 a week ago. I know this is for the SR9 and SR40 bit they are the same platform and my owners manual is for the 9 & 40. But this is one of the best pistols I have shot. I have shot sever...al 1911's, a block 21, and several other pistols. This gun just feels perfect in the hands. When shooting it, there is not much recoil. I am a beginner shooter with pistols (I'm more of a rifle guy) and I was creating groupings of 2"-3". So it is very accurate and have not ran into any problems yet. If my SR45 shoots lime the rest of the SR's then I highly recommend this gun. Perfection in 9mm
I have now owned my Ruger SR9c for about a year and a half. 1000+ rounds later and I've yet to have a single malfunction of any kind! I've used everything from UMC to Speer Gold Dot 147 grain without a hitch. The adjusta...ble backstrap really made a difference. Takedown is easy, and the 17 round magazine makes range time that much more fun, though you sure burn through ammo in a hurry! It's great for conceal carry, you can wear it all day with no problems. It's a bit big for a pocket, but IWB is a dream. I've owned several Ruger firearms and have yet to have a single complaint about any of them. This is my wife's favorite handgun. She'll shoot head shots at 15 yards like it's her job. The double spring and polymer frame really helps with recoil, even with +P rounds. Bottom line, I wouldn't trade my SR9c for anything, except maybe two SR9c so my wife will stop taking mine! more

    Sweet!!!
I went to the range and rented an S&W M&P 9c and a Ruger SR9c and shot them both equally. I could hardly tell any difference except the Ruger has a thumb safety in addition to the other safety features."Made... in the USA". I cleaned and lubed the gun and went to the range. Shot 100 rounds of WWB and 100 rounds of cheap bulk ammo w/o a failure of any kind. Slim enough to carry IWB esp. with the 10 rd mag. Ruger.com has lots of videos on disassembling, cleaning, and reassembly. Highly recommend this little gun. Also the 17 rd mag. included will fit the standard SR9 and vice versa, and it has a pop up indicator that shows if there is a cartridge in the chamber. Great first gun
After reading lots of reviews, opted for the SR9c as a comfortable-firing 9mm that I could CC if I decided to go that route. I was impressed with the 10 and 17 mags, abundant safeties, and extras like the loader, lock an...d case. I was impressed with the overall quality and good looks. Before taking to the range, I field stripped and cleaned the gun, and it was a simple process. I'd never done a field strip before, and a couple youtube videos made it clear that it was nothing to worry about. Basically five parts and no special tools needed. At the range, I used three brands of ammo -- Winchester white box, American Eagle (Federal) and Remington UMC. 150 shots, no misfires, misfeeds or ejection problems. Recoil was very light. No discomfort in my hands are arms after, and the trigger breaks where you would expect it to. Accuracy at 7 yards was as good (for me) as on any handgun I've shot (Glock, Beretta, Sig, S&W) and the patterns were as tight as I could have hoped for. Just a few small beefs: The lock is nice to have, but the case won't hold the gun with the lock installed. Soon I'll get a safe, but it would be useful to be able to keep the secured gun in the case. Also, the edges of the slide are a little sharp -- might be an issue on a really long day of shooting. Other than really small deals, I'm very impressed with Ruger and can't want to take it to the range again. more

    Best combo ever
I have several compacts that allow for insertion of a larger capacity mag, but this SR9c is fantastic. The magazine extension fits flush so you don't feel any wobble or distraction. It's nice to carry 10 in the weapon's ...main magazine (it also comes with a finger extension!!) for CC and have a back up magazine with a capacity of 17. Fits much better than any competitor extensions. The new trigger is also awesome and the thin design makes the ergonomics one of the best feeling . Form, fit and function definitely deserve a 5 or higher. Like all Ruger's I've owned it has performed flawlessly, a thousand plus rounds and not one single issue. Very accurate out of the box as well. You won't regret this purchase. more

    Still lovin my SR9
Bought my very first handgun at my local Cabelas in 2009 at the age of 54...because I finaly could.I went with a fantasy gun in mind because of TV and movie popularity."John" the most knowlegable man I have eve...r met showed me my "Drean Gun" in a most detailed and non biased fashion. My passion degraded to infatuation quickly. Not knowing if I would ever be in this position again I was obviously feeling stupid.John lapped this up like a puppy to warm milk."What do you want to do with it?""I want to be able to affordably shoot it a lot to become very familiar and comfortable with this purchase...eventually get a concealed carry permit..and use it for home/personsonal defence".Well...10 minuites into my SR9 introduction I fell in love and never regreted that decision.I now own several hand guns ...but the Ruger is still my favorite and has earned the pristene spot of beside my bed every night since.Shoots fast and reliably...fits my less than large hand perfectly...and 9mm ammo is relatively affordable and available everywhere. I added a laser sight and a couple different holsters including a shoulder rig.No regrets...best value I own. more

Today I had it at the range and decided to shoot it free hand at 50 yards with Winchester FMJ stock ammo and the gun was dead on at 50 yards. I would recommend this pistol to anyone looking for a great shooting and carry pistol. more

    Ruger SR9
Very reliable gun. Like the mag. capacity. Great for plinking or when I'm out in the field shooting rats from the tractor. No failures yet. Still prefer single action revolvers but am liking this more and more.

    Great little gun
Good shooter, very accurate. For handloaders out there, be aware that this gun does not like lighter loads. They will FTE unless you are in the top half of the load range, due to a heavy recoil spring. This is especially... so with a faster-burning powder. more

    Ruger SR9C
After 800 rounds of various ammunition at the range I have not had one failure to load, eject or fire. The gun is accurate and I would buy another one! I like the manual safety over and above the trigger safety for carry... and transporting while loaded and ready! more

    Great Value
I'm fairly new to shooting but the sr9c has got me hooked! Its a great value. I've read several negative reviews about lemons or issues with first runs. mine has not given me any trouble but i did follow online advice an...d took the striker out and cleaned it real well along w the rest of the gun before shooting it much. The grips are comfortable, the sights are really nice. nicer than a friends meprolights on his m&p. I really like the magazine extension but one extra magazine and a grip extension is fairly high. Really appreciate the ease of use and breakdown. ive fired close to 500 rounds in the past 2 months. its a really fun to shoot. more

    SR 9C – great pistol
Bought the SR 9C last Friday evening. Compared the Ruger to M & P 9C and XDM 9C models. My relatively small hands don’t like Glocks; I did not consider buying one. I bought the Ruger because it fit very well in my ...hand and you can’t beat the value of an American made pistol Wanted an all-around pistol that could be carried concealed in fanny pack or under a jacket but could also be taken to the range for having fun shooting. Field stripping and cleaning was easy, went off to the range Saturday morning with 50 rounds Winchester white box, 9mm NATO, 124 gr, 50 rounds PMC Bronze, 9mm, 115 grand 100 rounds Remington, UMC, 9mm, 115 gr. All 200 rounds cycled and ejected perfectly. The pistol felt very good in my hand with the 17 round and the 10 round mag. Slide was a little stiff but that is to be expected. Trigger was great, not gritty as some had suggested, just a smooth, even pull. The sights are what they are, a large white dot in between two, too small white dots. Probably would like the sights better if my eyes would be better, oh well getting older . . . , might try to paint the face of the front ramp fluorescent orange. My goal was not to test accuracy – wanted to get a feel for the pistol, test function and get basic technique back. All ammo fired consistently low, about 3 inches. Will adjust the sights shooting from a bag and think that I can get 5 round groups at 25 feet consistently into a 2 to max 3 inch circle. I am very happy with the purchase, could have continued to fire for hours, great frame, no fatigue. more

    Great handgun for the price
I like this gun because of the smaller grip. I have small hands so I reversed the grip insert and now it feels perfect in my hands. I've put 500+ rounds through without a problem. I've used 4 kinds of ammo, including che...ap Ukranian stuff. Even the 115 gr works perfectly in this gun. Had a hard time finding a holster is the only issue. more

    SR9C
Overall a very good handgun, it was accurate right out of the box, I have only shot about 100 rounds through it so far, and have had zero malfuntions. What I do like about it is; accuracy, easily accessible safety, easy ...to takedown, reliable thus far. The cons: will not fire without a magazine, and surprisingly enough it has a PLASTIC guide rod!! I was really surprised to see that in a Ruger, there has been no issues with the guide rod yet, but being plastic, I have my reservations. I don't have any regrets about buying the SR9c, like I said other than the guide rod, it is typical high quality and accuracy that Ruger is known for. more

    SR9C Nice Pistol
Fired 200+ rds. to date with no problems (no FTF, FTE, or light strikes). Per advice on a Ruger forum, I thoroughly cleaned and lightly lubricated the pistol prior to initial firing, to include the striker and magazines.... Ammo used in both 10rd and 17rd magazines: Blazer, Federal, Remington UMC, and Winchester white box from 115 gr to 147 gr, both target and JHP rounds. Nice trigger break, great sights, comfortable grip, fits well in IWB holster. more

    GOT A LEMMON
Very bad experience with this gun... From the 1st trip to the gun range, with premium ammo, this gun misfired (light hammer strikes) every 4-5 shots, it also did not reset hammer every 2-3 magazine loads... To top it all... off, the pin that hods the trigger mechanism fell out by just tilting gun to the right. TERRIBLE... Sidearm was sent to Ruger for service and received 'supposedly' fixed and ready to go.But on the very 1st trip to range, gun misfired on the very 1st magazine load and managed to not re-set trigger 4 times on 50 rounds fired. A total dissapointment. I have no trust to carry this gun as my CCW, so I took a huge hit trading it in a a local gun show. Got my self a Kimber and have not had one single issue with it... I could have been my luck, but I have read similar problems on line with this SR9c. I would NOT reccomend at all! more

    Top 9mm Gun!
I got the SR9C and is by far the best 9mm I've ever shot. Over 400 rounds since I got it two weeks ago and rapid fire, slow fire, no FTFs, no FTE's! Extremely accurate with various ammo such as Winchester white box 115 g...rain, Federal, Magtech, Independence, PMC, all FMJ 115 grain. Also shot Hornady Critical Defense 115 & 147 grain all without a hickup. This gun feels great in your hand and it's easy to handle, disassembly is a breeze, and the quality--well what can I say, it's a Ruger! Highly recommend, you won't be disappointed with this gun! more

Best compact 9mm in the market !
I bought this gun new and out of the box the accuracy and trigger were amazing.I had at the time a Sig 232 in .380 and the Ruger SR9C is better due to being a 9mm gun and actually is easier to shoot with basically a very... mild recoil.Ruger means quality, durability and piece of mind, I've put close to 1000 rounds thru this little wonder and had NO failures of any kind. I'm so glad I decided to buy this gun, my evaluation is A BIG 5 more

    Fantastic firearm
I purchased this pistol from Cabela's (is there any place else?) together with a Crimson Trace Laserguard sight after shooting several different brands of guns in the compact size range. I have since put 2,000 rounds thr...ough it and it just gets better and better as I shoot it. The trigger pull is far and away the best of any compact model on the market. Before I installed the Laser sight, I shot 200 rounds using the standard sights and it outshoots every Kimber 1911 that I have compared it with (I love the kimbers) at half the price. Wow! Try it, you'll love it! more

I can't say enough good things about this pistol. It's very comfortable to shoot, and VERY accurate. It shoots the cheap ammo for practice as well as the hollow points. SR9C - Great Conceal Carry Sidearm
Saw the reviews on this and figured it was worth a try. Owned it over 1 year now and extremely pleased. Best out of the box, compact semi-auto for accuracy and reliability, second only to a Belgium made Browning Hi-Power... from years gone by in out of the box accuracy. Tight 1.76" groups at 7 yards, carries well w/ 10 round clip and comforting to have the extra 17 round in the waist band if needed. Highly recomend. more

    Well done Ruger
I purchased this item over 6 months ago and must say that it has been a welcome piece to my collection. The first time I fired the SR9c I used 116 rounds of Winchester FMJ. The gun jammed 10 times out of the 116 and left... me very frustrated. The spent shells were getting stuck when the gun was fired thus forcing me to clear the jam by hand. I read some reviews online and decided that I should have cleaned the gun before firing in the first place. After a quick, but thorough, cleaning I used the gun again. I have put over 500 rounds through since the first time I used the gun when it jammed and have yet to have another jam. The gun is easy to use, very accurate and slender. This is an extremely user friendly gun and I suggest trying it out at your local range. more

    Nice shooter, early issues
I just purchased my first pistol the Ruger SR9. I've been to the range twice and used S&B 115gr ammo and also FMS 115gr. I had several FTE's with the S&B within the first 100 rounds. I shot 100 rounds of FMS yest...erday with no issues. This gun is a very good shooter. This being my first and only handgun I'm amazed at the tightness of groupings at 50'. Very happy with my purchase. Only 4 stars because of the early FTE issues, but this is a great gun. more

This is amazing. Its a glock with more safety features. The sights are some of the best out of the box. I just put 110 rounds through it and no jams. its great for left and right handed people. the grip is adjustable for... big and small hands. Its competition ready. Extra mags go around 40 bucks each. Little on high side. but also with the rail on the front you can add any accessories you want. Great gun to shoot!
I was looking for my first pistol and considering a Glock 26 and Baretta PX4 when I saw the Ruger SR9-C. I did some online research on it and liked what I read. Some of them indicated that they had 1-2 jams in the first ...100-200 rounds but shot flawlessly after that. The price was so good I figured it was my best option so I went for it. It was a great decision. I did have one jam in the first 100 rounds I put through it, I have shot somewhere around 250 as of now and have had no other issues. It is a great gun to shoot. As a novice I have been able to shoot nice groupings between 15 to 25 yards. Did I mention it is a great gun to shoot. more

    Ruger SR9---great little piece
Became a Ruger fan with the LCP--decided time for and upgrade to a 9mm. Purchased this over the weekend and could not wait to get out with it. I read many reviews on different sites, most were fair--actually mostly were ...very good. I enjoyed this piece, feels well, handles well, shot about 125 rounds my first day out with it and worked flawlessly. Most complaints were the sights not adjusted correctly. Being a novice shooter, did nice groupings at 25 yards and great at about 15 yards. Priced right, I would definitely reccommend this to anyone. Great new piece in my collection. Thank you Ruger more
