The Ruger No. 1 desperately needs a better recoil pad, a shorter front to the safety lever, protection for the front sight, and a better attitude by the manufacturer. There were no problems at all with firing and basic function with the Ruger No. 1 during our limited testing, other than our complaints about its ejection.
