    Very impressed! Don’t second guess!
I’ve been watching this shotgun for a while along with others, finally purchased today and threw 50 rounds easy! I was very skeptical of the pistol grip, but was not let down one bit. Gave it a good oil down right ...out the box. Love the shorter barrel, pump action is smooth as butter, shots are clean. The sound of the pull action (in any shotgun really) is very crisp. Not a single ejection fail. Also not really mentioned is how universal the attachments are. Comes with sturdy swivels, ready for a rail as well. All in all very impressed and is sitting by my front door now. Beware boogers, hope you can run faster than my slugs ;) more

    Great Value and Good Gun
I purchased this gun a month ago mainly for home defense but let me tell you. For the $$$, this gun is built like a tank. The pistol grip stock is solid and very sturdy. I took mine all apart to clean it to my satisfacti...on mainly to get all the oil/grease out of it and lube it properly. I've already shot 100 rounds through it with no problems what so ever. I really like that you can purchase accessories for the 320 from many different sites. It's a good multipurpose shotgun. more

    Good cheap gun
Ive had this gun about 2 months. I've put over 500 high brass 3" super x rounds threw it so far from birdshit, 00 buck, slugs. Not one miss fire, not one ejection problem. Holds a great group out to 50 yards wi...th birdshot n 00 buck. Slugs hold a 4" group at a standing shooting position. I added a snap over green front site, Sling, elastic ammo holder. So far its been great. more

    Failed after two shots
Bought this gun two years ago, never fired it until after I had had it on the shelf the whole time...Fired two rounds and the gun and receiver locked up.Had to remove the barrel to unload stuck round. ..Tried to dry cycle... it several more times and it failed to close completely and continued to lock up and jam...I sent a service request to Stevens but haven't heard back...The I noticed the warranty is only one year and I had it on the shelf two years before I found out it was defective...I'll just eat this one and NEVER buy another, don't want it If they repair it,just don't trust it with my life. more

5 stars for value of what its made for
I see a lot of mixed reviews on this gun where some people are saying it is a great gun and some saying it is a total waste of money. I bought mine about 1.5-2 years ago and the price was $200. I got it simply for anothe...r home defense firearm and it is perfect for that use. It has an aluminum barrel so it is pretty punishing compared to other 12 gauges because it is lighter and not as dense. It also heats up a good bit if you are trying to pump a bunch of rounds through it for the same reason, it is aluminum. Is it a $700 shotgun... Absolutely not. But the price has dropped since i bought it and i have no regrets of paying $200 for it. It is not meant for hunting or skeet shooting, it is a home defense gun and it serves its purpose perfectly fine. I shoot about 5-6 through it every time i go to the range and I've put about 100-150 rounds through mine and I've had absolutely no problems. If you want a shotgun for sport, then keep looking. If you want an inexpensive shotgun (with a hefty kick) for home protection, this is a great option. more

Do not buy this gun it has a bad double chambering problem. It is not the person shooting it. It is simply the crappie build and make of the gun. Don't waste your money

great down and dirty shotgun !
Bought one on a whim a month ago . while reading some of the reviews I ran across one where the writer was complaining about the short effective range of his .I ran everything from 00 to #4 buck , as well as 7/8 oz slugs... . I have a range set up at my place and to make a long story short , the slugs were great out to 80 meters and with the #4 buck at 30 meters it threw a pattern which resulted in an average of 36 out of 41 pellets in a 12 inch circle . This " cheap Charlie " has since replaced my Remington 870 as my first choice for defense . Great price , robust construction and ease of handling make it perfect for home and personal defense . more

    Great closet gun
Before judging a gun or anything for that matter, you have to look at what it's meant to be used for and what you are expecting out of it. This is not an $800 browning upland game gun. It's an inexpensive home ...protection gun. You wouldn't use this gun to hunt geese with, just as you wouldn't stick an expensive hunting shotgun Behring your bedroom door for someone to break in and steal. This shotgun preforms flawlessly, fast smooth action and dependable. At a price that you can leave it in your house and it wouldn't break you if something happened to it. It is intended for a job and a purpose, and it is perfect for what it's meant for. more

    Great shotgun, underrated
I bought this two years for home defense only. But, 1 year later I took it out for some clay shooting for fun and this shotgun outperformed itself. I have only had 1 basic cleaning on this shotgun and have fired over 100...0 rounds through it, mostly at clay pigeons. The pistol type grip is really nice to help with the recoil, because this is a 12 gauge and it feels like one. The barrel is a little shorter, but built thick to last. One time I shot about 100 rounds in an hour through it without any problems. All my buddies who have 400-500 dollar 12 or 20 gauges for clay shooting or bird hunting prefer to use mine. Amazing shotgun for under 200 bucks and can take any punishment. more

mossberg or winchester is nothing compare to this
First off, the tactical look is nice, the construction is sturdy like a tank, the feeling is just right for everyone with the extended forearm is just perfect. Second, i didnt even clean it before took it downrange, not ...even a single problem, felt so good with it, i meant i felt much safer with this gun while the other expensive did fire but they need to be cleaned well and thier action was so rough moreover, they have wobby construction. You have to reach hard cuz the forearm is far away from the buttstock. Then come to the price, u cant find any cheaper shotgun than this which has the same quality. But anyway, u should clean it first, try to cycle the forearm when u can to break it in, the more you do the smoother the action. This is the best gun u can find in the market more

    Great once broken in.....
I originally purchased this shotgun for my wife for home defense. I laughed at the fact that it had Ghost ring sights but quickly changed my mind when we began to shoot with it. After the first go round with it (50 round...s Bird Shot ) I noticed a small amount of metal shavings in the receiver and worried that it would eventually fail. Since then I have put at least 300+ rounds of 00' Buck, Slug and Bird shot down range and the action is smooth and performs excellent. I recommend this gun to any first time buyers out there. I also recommend the Ghost Ring sights if you can get a model with them! more

    great weapon for first timer
Picked up my new 320 last week, went out with 2 buddies, and we slammed 150 rounds 00 and 25 slugs through this thing this morning. I did have 2 00 fail to load, could be either the ammo, or more than likely not being ag...gressive enough when racking. Yes, you need to be aggressive when racking this weapon, and just as man handle when pushing it forward, no limp wristing it. I did pop for the recoil pad at walmart for $20. This thing did exactly what is should, not a ton of features, but what the heck do you need on a shotgun ? We had a first time shooter female, 90lbs, 5'4" who was able to fire it, she did about 30 rounds herself. A friend brought a $500 mossberg with him, for the money, I will stick with my 320 more

    Great shotgun
I bought the model 320 6 months ago. It is pretty much an exact replica of the Winchester 1300 so it is easy to find spare parts by ordering them for the Winchester 1300 if necessary. The Savage was covered in cosmoline ...packing grease for shipping from China. After a thorough disassembly and cleaning, the weapon fired like a champ. Never a problem, smooth action and it just plain shoots nicely. My recommendation for all people who have problems with it, clean it before you shoot it. more

For The Price... This Shotgun Is Worth It, Really!
I've had this shotgun for about 18 months... it is a great home defense tool and other CQB needs. I've fired the inexpensive Federal multi-purpose 2 3/4 shells to Rio, Spartan and Herters 00 Buck. It will cycle... either low or high brass shells without a problem. Breakdown for cleaning is not bad (see YouTube)... My wife |5'4"| can cycle the action with no problem thanks to the extended forearm. I bought some Traction Grip universal squares and taped off the pistol grip and the forearm and it looks great and functions as advertised. Reason for the four stars is because of the lack of aftermarket accessories. more

Don't Believe the Negative Reviews on the Web
I purchased this shotgun for the $169 sale price a few weeks ago. Typically, I do not buy firearms without researching owner testimonies and manufacturer reviews first; but for the attractive price on the rack I could no...t resist nabbing this one. Who doesn't want a pump shotgun for under $200? I took the shotgun home and gave the receiver and barrel a complete and thorough cleaning before attempting any range time. It was also at this time that I researched the reviews on various gun websites.... to my dismay, I found there are a few negative reviews on this model shotgun. These "people" and their testimonies took all of the wind out of my sails with their negative experiences. Not wanting to be stuck with lemon a year from now, for the past 3 weeks I have been putting this shotgun to the test and running it hard. To date, I have put over 500 reloads of bird shot, 30+ shells of store bought Winchester 00 buck shot (ouch), and about 20 store bought Remington 1oz Slugs (double wrist ouch)... THIS SHOTGUN NEVER MISSED A BEAT AND IS STILL GOING STRONG, and it beat me up in the process. Rapid fire buck shot ran like a champ and the slugs were grabbing attention a the range with all the steel gong hits. I am very happy with my purchase of this shotgun, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a shotgun for home defense. I believe Stevens has developed a great gun in the 320 model. more

This is a Great Weapon for Home Defense, In which this is what the Stevens 320 12 GA. was made around. This IS NOT a Hunting Weapon, 1 due to barrel length and the biggest #2, This is a 5+1 shell hold/fire, If you are ca...ught by a Game Wardin, Wildlife etc. you will be fined because a Hunting shotgun shall not hold more than a 3+1 etc. Just to clear the air for some people.. Otherwise, The Stevens 320 12 GA. by Savage is a great buy for its price. I bought mine and have been happy with it and how it shoots. it met my standards if not meeting them and going beyond what I had expected!. more

Decent but not best in price range.
I bought myself a Mossberg Maverick 88($189), short barrel. My girlfriend wanted a shotgun as well. So we intended to get her a Mossberg as well. However, while at Academy another couple was trying out the Savage 320. My... gf liked the idea of the pistol grip as it felt more comfortable to her. So for $179 we got her the Savage. It seemed, upon initial inspection of the display model, to be on par with the Mossberg. So we bought it, took it home cleaned it thoroughly, and headed to the gun range the next day. After going back and forth between my Mossberg and her Savage. The Mossberg was clearly better in the fit and finish department. The action on the Savage was not as smooth as the Mossberg. Although they both shot about the same. The Savage was just a touch more difficult to load and unload(properly unload not just cycling shells through the chamber). But that "touch" of difficulty was very marginal. Overall it performed well. My girlfriend felt very comfortable with it. And it was her first time ever to fire a firearm(we started with a 9mm handgun, moved on to a .30/30 rifle, then finished off switching between the two shotguns). Anyway, we get home and i show her how to field strip and clean her gun. So she's cleaning it and just about finished, when she's moving the action back and forth to check for any additional spots to clean when the pump and its guide arms come completely of the gun. Those rails have no stops on them so beware of that when the gun is stripped down. Its' a pain to get back on! Anyway. My girlfriend is happy with the gun. And after some use the action began to smooth out a bit. So there is a bit of break in with the gun. And it is pretty fun to shoot. But for a shotgun in this price range, I would say the Mossberg has just a bit more quality to its construction. And if you're into altering the gun with after market stuff the Mossberg is the way to go. I haven't found anything yet for the Savage when it comes to aftermarket mods. more

You Get What You Pay For!
I recently bought my wife the Stevens Model 320 12 gauge at Acadamy Sports. I chose this design because it is easier for her to handle with the pistol grip, and because it was made by Savage which I knew made good firear...ms. Since she doesn't need a top of the line shotgun, the price was another factor in choosing this shotgun for her. The other major manufacturers don't make a 12 gauge in the same price bracket. We took it home and after unpacking it, I attempted to show her how to load it, and to check it out at the same time. In doing so, I found that it wouldn't retain the loaded shells, but rather would immediately spit them back out into the loading port where they would lodge under the plate, thus necessitating removal of the barrel, the plug, spring, etc. to remove the jammed shell. After trying to get shells to stay in it about 10 times; I took it back to Acadamy Sports where we got it and they sent it back to the factory. After the factory had it for 3 weeks, they finally decided it couldn't be fixed, and replaced it with another new one. more
