    Sig Sauer p238 Desert
I was torn between the Springfield 911 and this p238. I bought it on the machine like feel of the weapon. I opened the box took off the slide and inspected it. It was well oiled so I went to the range with Sig Sauer roun...d nose ammo and it functioned flawlessly. It has a very heavy trigger 8lbs on my Wheeler scale. I bought it for my wife that wanted a small conceal pocket gun. The extended mag is a must as far as I'm concerned. It will take the Springfield mags as they interchange and lock open. I would give it a 5 except for the trigger as its hard to keep the front sight focused while pulling so hard. more

    Sig Excellence
My wife and I purchased new P238's and took them to the range. They functioned flawlessly but that's what I expect from Sig Sauer. Absolutely no failures with any ammo we used. The triggers are crisp without creep. Even ...with their diminutive size they feel like a substantial firearm in your hand unlike some of the micro polymer wonder guns. Excellent for concealed carry and we have confidence they'll perform when needed. We trust our lives with Sig Sauer quality and highly recommend the P238. more

Soo Happy with this purchase, LOVE this Sig!
Wanted to buy a compact. Idea being for CCW, sidearm for hunting. CCW for my wife as needed.

    I won't carry it
Right out of the box within the first 50 rounds the slide pin bar keeps falling out in the middle of firing practice. It is held in with a cheap little spring that does not do the job. I will be contacting SIG today, but... I've read some of the blogs and others are having the same issue and all SIG does is give you a new spring. This gun is not dependable enough for carry purposes. more

    Great pocket gun
Bought this pistol in July and really like it. It's easy to handle and conceal. It has performed flawlessly. The 380 ammo is easy to control.

    Awesome pistol
I brought this P238 for my wife's birthday. Everytime we went to the store she would pick it up. The slide was the easiest to rack of all the other 380 pistols we looked at. Took it to the farm and shot at some cans. Wha...t a pleasure. Not one failure out of 100 rounds. It fits well in her smaller hands and recoil was low. The sights were excellent, very accurate. I carry a 9mm but I would not hesitate to carry this gun. more

    Sig does it again!
I bought the blackwood 238 model with the fiber optic front sight. What a fantastic .380 this gun is. It is accurate, and I don't think there is another stock .380 on the market that has the quality sights on it like thi...s gun does. I bought this gun for my wife, and she likes it a lot. Matched with the crossfire holster that Cabelas sells, this is a perfect combination. The gun and holster combination is so comfortable It is a dream to carry. I carry the p-938, but honestly I like carrying the p-238 more! more

    The Best (Sleeper) CCW
I own many handguns, but the Sig Sauer P238 is always my "go-to" pistol for daily concealed carry. So, if you want a Concealed Carry Weapon (CCW), this .380 ACP pistol is the best all-around CCW that you can bu...y. Why is that? Because it (a) is accurate right out of the box; (b) weighs only 15.2 ounces, making it one of the lightest of CCWs; (c) is a "micro compact" that easily fits in your pocket or your purse, or hangs from your belt with the included mini-holster; (d) has a trigger pull of only 7.5 pounds; (e) comes with two, lightweight 7-round magazines; and (f) has very little recoil and muzzle "flip;" hence, it is very easy to shoot at the gun range, or otherwise. It is more expensive than other .380 caliber pistols because it is a Sig Sauer, which is the best manufacturer of commercially-available handguns. And did I mention that it just feels good in your hand.? more

    Best .380
Picked up a P238 with Blackwood grips and TFO optic night sights back in 2011. I've pocket carried this with the safety on since new and I've never had it turn its safety off on its own. Very accurate and soft shooter fo...r such a small pistol. Very easy to clean and even easier to rack the slide. Sig quality in a small pistol more

    She's so pretty!
Ok so I get that guns aren't pretty but I have to brag about my P238. I ordered the purple one and it is quite beautiful. I'm a chick and love that they have some feminine colors available set it apart from the dull ever...y day pistol. As far as the model, I love it! It's feels solid and durable considering the size. This is now my main carry weapon. With summer approaching, I wanted something compact and relatively lightweight that I could carry in my hip hugger holster. It's hardly visible when I go hiking and I'm wearing athletic wear. A tank top that's not too fitting around the waist pretty much conceals it. When I first went to the range, I had a problem with the ammo I used. I used Blaze initially. I switched to Remington and had no issues. In my opinion, this is a top quality pistol and I would recommend. I'm now a Sig fan. more

    Excellent CC Weapon
Outstanding accuracy, reliability, and handling. This is far superior to 3 other equivalent size concealed carry firearms I own. Far less recoil and much greater accuracy. This may be a little higher priced firearm but i...t is well worth the investment. I highly recommend this for your CCW. more

    Great Gun
Bought this Sig a few weeks ago at Bass Pro during one of their credit card incentive deals. I already owned a Sig 938, and was looking for a slightly smaller version to carry a little easier. My Sigs are my 2 favorite h...andguns. Don't hesitate to spend slightly more and step up to a well made gun! The new P238 fires well and feels great in the hand. The .380 caliber is much more impressive than I had wondered. The Desert Model is great looking and I love the Hoge grips. You'll love it. more

    P238
I have always been a little skeptical with the 380 caliber round, but with the evolving improvements in SD ammo it makes it more attractive. All previous videos and reviews are correct - this pistol is accurate, fun to s...hoot and very concealable. It's downside is the expense, but what is the real price for safety and reliability? A fantastic conceal carry pistol. more

Easy to chamber, low recoil, light, accurate
This compact pistol is super light but maintains low recoil that you just cannot get in the polymer compacts. Easy to quickly reacquire target after shooting and keep tight groupings.

Great gun esp easy to rack the slide, low recoil
If your looking for a very small compact gun and are comfortable with 380 ammo then this is a great gun. I have carpal tunnel and this gun is by far the easiest pistol I have found to rack the slde. The single action mak...es it a dream to shoot. The lower cal makes the recoil much easier to take. I was able to get small groupings in practice shootings in a short period of time. No problems at all with takedown for cleaning. So small in height and width, it is very easy to conceal. Fits in a fairly small pants pocket in a pocket holster or in a iwb holster with ease. Being a woman, some of my wardrobe just isn't easy to fit with some guns, but this one fits with most and is small enough to not imprint in the proper holster. more

    Totally satisified with my P238
Due to arthritis I needed to part with my Beretta and get something smaller to shoot and for carry.Purchased the Sig Sauer P238. This weapon has never misfired one single time in the year I've had it to the range. I own ...a Glock 42, which is also nice and small and minimal recoil, but due to my arthritis and how I shoot this pistol, I've had many misfires and jams. I seem to tilt the weapon upwards too much for the shell to eject. Never one problem with the Sig at all. And I'm using the same hands with both weapons. Plan to sell the Glock and get another Sig P238. more

    I like it too!
Awesome gun with no ammo trouble and accurate as it gets. The weight is perfect for .380 ammo but I did need to get several ( read many, many) 7 round mags to be comfortable since the flat bottom is small for me. I had to... get my GF one after she shot mine a few times cause that just made her happy happy. She wanted the Rainbow edition which really is a very cool looking gun. I have a Shield 9 that's usually carried but the SIG may take it's place. more

    Great little pistol
I got this pistol a few month back and I love it. It is very accurate even at 50 and 75 feet and after putting several hundered rounds though it I've had 1 failure to load and two failure to fire. The failure to fire was... a problem with the ammo, not the gun. more

Next to buying your wife a revolver this is a great choice. Simple, safe and reliable. With modern critical defense ammo ,the .380 is easily the equal to a 9mm. Excellent comparatively
Ive owned my 238 for a year now and put over 900 rounds through it. I have not been able to shoot 100 rounds consecutively through this gun using high grade ammo only, hornady critical defense and gold dot. It will have ...a failure to eject just before I make 100 rounds. Mine does not function dirty. It is not a range pistol it is a ccw pistol and in that category it is the leader. Very shootable, very accurate, very attractive!!! It is a great secondary to my G26. It is my wife's primary ccw and she loves it. more

    Mini 1911!!
Took this little guy to the range today. The feel of this gun is much greater than any other "Pocket Gun" that I have fired. The thing that sold me on this one over the LCP (Which I just sold) is the single act...ion trigger, breaks crisp and short, trigger reset is very good for follow up shots unlike the LCP, Bodyguard, etc... The fiber optic front sight is excellent and in the dark they are even better since they are also night sights! Broke it in with 100 rounds of standard ammo, 1 failure to eject in the first magazine, after that no misfires or anything and finished the day up with very nice +p hollowpoints :) Really amazing groups for a pocket gun! Kept up with my full size 1911 at 25yds, it shoots right where you aim it! Amazing gun. more

Sig P238 - well worth the money
The Sig P238 is a miniature clone of a full-size M1911 pistol, allowing "cocked & locked" carry. Much easier to shoot accurately (than DAO pocket guns) because of its light single-action trigger. Lightweigh...t, comfortable grip, functional safety, big sights, minimal recoil.I have so far practiced with over 500 rounds of both inexpensive target & personal defense ammo - never a malfunction of any kind.Comes with only one mag - choice of multiple finishes & grips.. Well worth the money. Highly recommended. more

    Quality
When it comes to quality, it very hard to beat a Sig Sauer. I Purchased a P238 in .380 with wood grips. A work of art. No short cuts in manufacturing this little .380. When shooting it , you have to look twice to make su...re it not a full size pistol, it accurate for its size. I never worry about this pistol not functioning. Excellent daily carry
I use the P238 SAS version as my daily carry, and it has performed flawlessly, with only a couple of hiccups at about the 500 round mark. It started jamming on me, so after some trouble-shooting, I replaced the recoil sp...ring. Now it's back to it's old reliable self, accurate, solid, and beautifully made. I replace the recoil spring every 500 rounds just to be safe, since I use loads that are on the heavy side. more

    Outstanding!
I recently just bought a matching set of these little Sig's for my wife and myself to use as our carry guns. I just got back from the range after breaking in both guns with 250 rounds thru each from four different manufa...ctures. Both of these guns worked perfectly and ran thru all this different ammo without a flaw!In addition what was really impressive was the accuracy both of them had right out of the box. Not being an expert pistol shoot I was able to shoot 2-3 inch groups at 21 feet with no problem at all.You will pay little more for this gun but, when it comes down to it I want a gun I can depend on. This gun is worth every penny! more

    Pricey But Worth It!
Bought the P238 for the wife as she was having trouble with her 9mm. Needed something smaller and easier to handle but without the snappy recoil of direct-blowback .380's.Saw the P238 with its locked-breech action at Cab...ela's and remembered how mild the perceived recoil was with my old Colt Mustang (which the P238 is modelled after) so we bought it with high hopes.Tried it at the range where we fired appx 50rd of UMC FMJ & 7rds of CorBon DPX. Functioning was 100% with all ammo tested in two factory mags and two Colt Mustang mags. The wife really likes the tritium/fiber optic sights, the more manageable recoil and how easy it is for her to work the slide and other controls.Bottom line: We're very happy with the P238 despite the price, I'm hoping that someday this will be her first CCW pistol. more

    Sweet lil Sig
I bought the rosewood grip 238 about two months ago as a daily carry gun. It shoots very well, and has had no feed/extraction problems with any of the ammo I've put through it. I really like that it has a safety- somethi...ng that's lacking on most pistols of this size. I also like that it has night sights. It feels right in my hand, and point shoots like ann extension of my arm. Nitron P238
I have had this pistol for approximately a year and I must say it is one of the greatest subcompact/pocket pistols I have shot as far as accuracy, at 10-15 yds, I am shooting 2"-3" groups. This is the only pist...ol this size that uses night sights which make it very easy to find your target and it points and feels very good for being such a small weapon. I have shot over 1,000rds through this pistol with minimal malfunctions using many different types of ammo including JHP's. If you were going to use this as a CCW or a back up weapon I would suggest using ball ammo for better penetration. Overall, great weapon! more

    Single Action 380!
I bought a P238 a couple of months ago when my concealed carry permit came through. The P238 was really the only choice for me because I wanted a single action pocket pistol. This gun is very expensive for a 380 but in r...eturn, I got a very high quality gun that has been very accurate and reliable. At 25 yards, I can easily punch 6" groups rested on a bench. Not bad for such a tiny gun, After more than 200 rounds, there have been zero malfuntions with Remington and Winchester ball ammo. I haven't tried any hollowpoints yet. more
