    Not Sig quality
I really wanted to like this pistol since we own several Sigs and love them. I know this will not ever be in the league of my Legion or Sig 1911's but this gun does not deserve to carry the same logo on the slide. Mine w...as(traded) a P250C in 40 caliber so maybe that had something to do with the inaccuracy of the gun but my Springfield XDM 4.5 is a 40 and it is a nail driver. My opinion is to save a few more bucks until you can buy a REAL Sig!!! more

    Happy I bought it...
Going on 2,000 rds with no issues. Easy to remove FCU and change out the grip module. Just replaced mine with a small FDE grip.

    Sig Should be Proud
I bought my Sig P250C as a carry gun in .45 ACP. I bought this because of the fact that it acts like a revolver, no safety just pull the trigger. And with the big bore, even with ball ammo, it has stopping power.

    Great gun
This is a very reliable and accurate gun. The long DOA trigger pull is something to get use to, but is very smooth and I consider it a safety thing, since it has no manual safety. Disassembly could not be easier. Feeds a...ll ammo. Only 1-2 misfeeds, in the the first 100 rounds, but its still in the break-in period. Very high quality gun, especially at this price point. more

Sig quality at an affordble price
This is an excellent pistol. The trigger is revolver like and is very smooth and east to learn. Since the 250 and 320 share many components it should be easy to find magazines and accessiries in the future. Excellent Sig... quality! more

    Double Action Only
The double action will get you! This pistol is unique in the sense that it offers only double action. If you're a huge striker fire glock person this will take some getting used to. Because of the long heavy trigger pull... you have to sort of adjust. Overall, it is a great firearm that can add a little something different to your collection. more

    Good conceal
This pistol works great as a concealed carry but not well as a range gun. The cycling on this gun is flawless.

Sig P250 SC 9mm Excellent CCW Gun
I love this gun for many reasons: -I carry it for CCW with 1 bullet in the chamber. I prefer and feel safer with a "heavier" trigger pull than Striker Fired guns. Of course this is personal preference-The trigg...er is VERY smooth once you practice dry firing (As you should with all guns, including Striker Fired) I can fire rapid follow up shots accurately -Anyone who owns a DA/SA or DOA knows that putting your thumb on the hammer while it's down (uncocked) prevents ANY & ALL trigger movement, which prevents the gun from firing, thus GREATLY preventing the chance of Negligent Discharge, if you follow the proper safety protocols when handling guns-The above mentioned points make this a safe CCW gun. For CCW, you always want 1 in the chamber, and a gun with no safeties, because in a self defense situation you may forget to disengage the safeties, which gives the attacker more time to attack you or kill you-I put 800 rounds thru the gun and NO malfunctions.-Very inexpensive for a gun made by Sig SauerOverall, I'm glad I bought this for CCW. The only "cons"-Being that this is a DOA, there is a bit of a learning curve to shooting accurately. due to a heavier trigger pull. I found that just practicing trigger control and focusing on lining up the sights, by dry firing with Snap Caps, increased my accuracy with DOA guns immensely.- The Sub-Compact's grip may not be long enough for everyone. I bought the 15rd mag which increased the amount of grip. Overall, I love the gun and feel that I can rely on it if I ever faced a self defense situation more

    P250 Nice Gun
Don't know what some owners problem is with this gun. I bought because of the safe trigger, .40cal, # of rounds. Only had problems at first when learning to shoot. Since then I have no issues with the gun and it fires li...ke a charm. No problems. The long easy trigger pull is nice. I like the P250 much better than my S&W M&P Shield which has had FTE issues. more

A Good Start, A Good Buy
I have had my P250 compact in .45ACP for a little over 3 years. I've put about 650 rounds through it and never had one single issue. This pistol breaks down very, very, easily for field stripping. I also have the caliber... exchange kit to convert it to a .40S&W subcompact in less than a minute. The trigger pull is long and I mean LONG. Ask the folks at the gun counter if you can try the trigger before you buy. If you can live with the long pull (safety feature) then go for it. If you are starting out with your first pistol and want a quality pistol at a budget price, look no further. more

    Awesome Gun
I received this gun as a gift... best present I've received to date. I already been to the range and put abour 500 rounds through it and had no problems. This gun was easy to use and on target every round. I recommend th...e Compact P250 to anyone looking for a weapon that truly user friendly. My only issue is finding a good leather holster for concealment. Other than that a great well balanced weapon. Happy Shooting! more

    Not a dependable gun
I bought this fire arm due to SIGs reputation for quality and dependability. This pistol is not reliable. Have encountered several failure to fire with all different types of ammo. Hammer seems weak due to the strange de...sign of the DAO trigger system. Wish I would have purchased S&W m+p! more

    Nice Try!
I bought the P250 sub-compact in .40 S&W several months ago meaning to use it for a carry gun. I loved the idea of the modularity and immediately ordered the full size kit in .40 from the factory also. As it turned o...ut, the factory back ordered me on the full size, and in the meantime, I started fighting “failure to feed” jamming on the sub-compact. It did not matter the ammo, and it did it with both of my mags… it would just periodically (I could almost count on at least one per 10 round mag) catch the round at an angle as it nosed into the chamber. At this point I lost my emotional attachment to the thing and started to consider replacing it. It was a tough call, because about this time, the full size showed up, and I now had $700+ in it. I thought about sending it in, but then decided that I probably never would feel like I could ever trust it again. I finally broke down and took the loss on a trade for a Glock 23. Best decision ever! The Glock is a much more solidly built piece of equipment, and suddenly I’m shooting like a pro. On the P250…I say nice try Sig, but keep working more

Traded my compact 40 for Smith M&P 40 cal.
This was my first Sig Sauer purchase out of 13 handguns owned. It was a Gen 2 and I really wanted to like the gun. I thought it was a decent shooter and that the inaccuracy was just shooter error. That was until purchasi...ng two Springfield XDM that were both nail drivers out of the box. I would go back to the Sig occasionally hoping I had just improved my marksman skills but the gun never improved with me. Finally gave up and traded for a S&W since my friends love theirs so much. I will buy another Sig in the future but it will likely cost me much more money. Guess there was good reason why this model was so much less expensive than the rest of thier lineup. more

    Do not like
This was my first semi auto purchase. I went with the salesmans recommendation of Sig Sauer. I bought the P250c in .40 cal also because of it's modularity. I've put 100 rounds (165 and 180 gr) through it and had a few FT...E's. I also do not like the long trigger pull with this DAO. Bought the short trigger also but didn't seem to help.Very easy to breakdown and clean. Very accurate. Will probably buy a different gun. more

    Great Gun for the value
I recently purchased my Sig - .45 ACP, at the end of December 2012 at the Cabela's in Dundee. I love the handling of this firearm. It's lightweight and the compact version makes this gun surprisingly enjoyable to shoot, ...even a round as large as the 45. I would have liked if this item would have come with a hard case, extra clip and cleaning kit like many other guns come with. more

IN LOVE WITH MY 1ST SIG !!!!!
I recently purchased my first pistol for home defense. Being that I had never owned or shot a gun before I grilled several of my coworkers, all avid gun users/ collectors for info/ advice. After getting multiple perspect...ives on size, caliber, brands etc, I began my own quest for just the right pistol for me (and my wife). As soon as I saw the P250 I wanted it. The design just screams SWEEEET and it feels great in the hand! Still, I diligently researched reviews, co. history, cost, accesories etc. I found a store nearby that had a diamond plate model w/ Siglite sights (yes-only 1) and they held it for me. I got it for a steal of a deal after a short haggle at the counter. I drooled on it for a few days and went to the range w/ a friend. IT DEVOURED 250 ROUNDS OF CHEAP/ DIRTY AMMO W/OUT A SINGLE HICCUP and accurate too considering it was my first time and got several center shots- I was just having too much fun to care about aim. I got a nice case for it and plan on getting a couple extd clips(17ct!!!) for it. I am a VERY happy customer and look forward to more range time. Def recommend for anyone looking for a nice piece/ home def/ CC pistol. BTW -VERY easy to strip/ clean/ change calibers on a whim and super light/ smooth trigger pull. (make sure you get a 2nd gen model w/ logo under mag release- see pics) more

    Misleading/Dangerous Information
I recently purchased this pistol @ Cabelas hoffman estates. Looking for an inexpensive semi-auto for home defense after reading the description on cabelas website thought this was an excellent handgun for the price.. Pro...blem is the description Claims this gun comes with "siglite contrast sights" that can be seen in any lighting conditions. This Statement is untrue and dangerous IMO. This handgun comes with contrast sights. After double checking with Sig They agree this statement is misleading. "Siglite" sights glow by themselves via tritium vial and can be seen in any lighting conditions unlike regular contrast sights. I brought this to the attention of the store and was given a $50 dollar gift card.. unfortunatly that does not come close to cover the SIGlite sights that according to Cabelas, this gun is supposed to have. I hope this wording gets changed before someone has to use this weapon in self defense in a low light situation and cannot get a good target aquisition. more

    Solid Performer
I've owned this gun in the 9mm compact model for about a year now and have put several hundred rounds (almost all FMJ) through it. It is a consistant performer that has never jammed and has only failed to discharge once.... It runs slightly larger than most compact 9mm which I like for comfort when shooting but makes it cumbersome to carry. I would recommend the sub-compact for a carry gun but love the large dual stack magazine that I don't believe is available in the sub-compact. I've shot similar Glocks, Rugers, and Kimbers and wouldn't trade my less expensive P250 for any of them! more

    Great Gun
just purchased the compact 9mm. Shot only 100 rounds so far but had no issues. Gun is fun to shoot, seems like quality construction, easy to take down. Only 4 stars because I wish it came with two magazines. I would have... purchased a second magazine when I purchased the gun but the Cabelas store did not carry one.So far, very pleased with the gun and I would recommend it to someone looking for a easy point and shoot gun. more

    Sig P250 40 S&W
This is a double action only polymer pistol that is dependable, affordable and accurate as some of Sig's higher price pistols. I own the P250 in sub-compact, compact, and full size. If you enjoy shooting revolvers you wi...ll enjoy shooting this pistol. if you do not like double action only do not purchase this pistol. It has a long but very smooth trigger pull. There is no safety on this light weight pistol. You can shorten the trigger pull by purchasing a short trigger from Sig. Take down is fairly simple. You can also purchase the conversion kit to change the caliber. more

the gun was horrible. It had constant failures to eject and tried different ammos the second time. I sent it back to Sig Sauer and they stated that they upgraded extractor and firing system. DISMAL PERFORMANCE
Bought this P250 .40 caliber from Cabela's a month ago. From the first magazine the gun had a problem feeding and fully chambering the round. Shot a total of 400 rounds through it, the gun jammed 1-2 times per mag. Broug...ht it back to Cabela's 3 times and they finally sent it to the Sig factory. The problem didn't get resolved when gun got back! Seems like the reliability of Sig is just a myth. Apparently their customer service has also suffered beyond redemption - supplying an inferior product and failing to service it. Think I'll get rid of the gun and stay away from Sig. Strongly suggest you do the same! more

You cannot go wrong with this rifle. I just got this rifle 3 days ago and put a cheap fixed power 4x32 Bushnell $79.99 on it. Only because the Nikon 22 scope was the display model only. one shot holes all day long
I bought this Savage 93 Tactical in 17 HMR with blued heavy fluted barrel for light varmint and target. It will shoot one shot 50 yards targets all day. I used the Hornady Vmax 17 gr bullet. Of course, wind is an issue w...hen you go to 100 yds. With a 7 mph crosswind I managed 3/4 in groups in a horizontal string. The impact is 1/4 inch difference from 50 to 100 yds. topped with Bushnell 4-12X scope with parallax adjustment. Academy personnel mounted and bore sighted the rifle for free! Great rifle for varmint out to 150 yds if wind is light and you need a quieter rifle. The Acu-trigger is awesome! Read my review of magazines and find out what I discovered. more

    Awesome Gun
I purchased this model gun a few weeks ago at my local Academy Store at a great price. Installed a 3X9X 40 scope on it. Bore sighted, shot 5 rounds to sight in at 25 yds. The gun is incredibly accurate. Run another 90 ro...unds thru at 25 & 100 Yds. 7/8 inch grouping was the worst grouping out of 5 different ammo using a gun rest. Love this rifle.
I bought this rifle, put a centerpoint 4x16 power illuminated reticle scope on it, and had it hitting the bullseye at 25 yards in 4 shots. It was getting dark so I shut down for the evening and set up another target at 1...00 yards the next morning. With a minor adjustment I was on. I taped a quarter to a white 5"x5" card and drilled George with the first shot. Missed the quarter with the next two shots by a 1/4 inch then hammered George again with the 4th and final shot. Was using Hornady ammo. Haven't tried other ammo yet. Don't know if the near misses were shooter error or ammo. Seriously doubt it was the rifle. Had a light wind, but still only missed the quarter twice by a 1/4 inch @ 100 yards. Very satisfied and would recommend to anyone. The only drawback I had was the magazine was fed in the rifle incorrectly and was a major hassle to get out. I would suggest anyone wanting to purchase the rifle have the associates remove the magazine at the store. It may have been put in incorrectly from someone previously looking at the rifle, but a major pain either way. Everything else perfect! more

    WHAT A GREAT "TOY"!!
First off, I apologize to Frankum1998. I accidently hit the "report" button on his post. His post was spot-on! I just got this rifle from Academy and, although I've only shot it 50 times, I have to say thi...s is the best rimfire rifle I've ever shot! At the suggestion of a very knowledgeable associate at Academy, I put a BSA "Sweet 17" scope on it and couldn't be happier! I own lots of rifles with expensive scopes but, the sweet-17 is all you need for this beautiful rifle. Once you zero in your rifle at 50 yrds., no other adjustments are needed as, you scope is calibrated and you just dial it to 100 or 150, etc. and shoot. The bullet WILL go there! This rifle is extremely accurate and I can see I'm going to be burning up some ammo with it! more

    My favorite gun
I did a lot of research before making this purchase. The quality and finish far exceeded my expectations. The accuracy is the icing on the cake. Only twenty rounds so far (due to weather) but once zeroed in, 30 yards 5 r...ound group smaller than a penny.   The accutrigger Needs no adjustment from factory. No creep and extremely crisp. Besides the stainless finish, the laminate stock is completely beautiful.  I own quite a few fire arms and have been shooting for the past 35 years but this is far my favorite and enjoyable gun that I have ever had. I highly recommend this gun and purchase it from academy because it is 120.00 cheaper than xxxxx national gun store for exact same model.  more

    Better than Expected
Purchased for the cool stock. Have fired only 100 rounds. But very impressed with the quality and fit of the bolt/ receiver. Waited for the 22mag but went with the 17 after I grew tired of waiting. The 17HMR has little r...ecoil and is very accurate and flat out to 100 yards with . Using a Simmons 4-9 / 50 scope. more

    My favorite rimfire!
I like it, but it is heavy!  I would not suggest this for long treks in the woods.  Very accurate as long as you can rest it on something. It is a blast to shoot and like the low recoil.  I've only sh...ot thru it hornady ammo, and never had any ftf. It is no doubt one of my favorites in my collection. Love it! more

Just ran 50 rounds through my new 93R17 BTVS, and couldn't be happier. Savage has a great rifle here. THE Beginner's Pistol
The Browning Buckmark has been around for decades and is every equal to other 22 rimfire recreational pistols. With a form fitting grip angle and crisp trigger pull, the Buckmark can carve a ragged hole group out to fift...een yards in my hands. If you are new to pistols and want a primer without spending a ton of money or getting punished by recoil, the Buckmark is a solid choice. more

    Awesome 22 pistol fun!
I bought one of these, about two months ago, after years of thinking about one. I am very glad I did! It feels amazing in my hand, it may be the easiest pistol I own to get great accuracy with, and the ammo costs so much... less than any other pistol I own. This is solid metal gun that has just the right amount of weight and size to it. You hardly feel any recoil at all. Because of this weight feel combo, follow up shots are super easy leading to tight groups. Plus with the low low ammo cost for .22 or compared to 9mm, or any other caliber handgun cartridge, I'd say it's a no brainier. If your not sure, just hold one and I bet you end up wanting it as much as I did! more

WOW, plinking is so much fun ...again! love the feel of the rubber grips, and the pistol just feels right in my hand. i have other .22 pistol and revolvers but i think this will end up being my favorite.it is a high quality pistol, well made and sharp looking in a blacked out dull kook. if you are looking for a shiny blue pistol this isnt it, it is very business like, no appearence frills. this is one fine pistol, especially at this price. try it you WILL like it. more

    Easy to clean
I bought this gun with some concerns but they were quickly disspelled. I had a Ruger Mark III6 which was a very good shooter but very difficult to clean and reassemble, for me at least. The Browning is much easier to cle...an and disassemble. It shoots just as well as the Ruger and likes CCI and Federal high velocity rounds. Very accurate, nice feel in the hand, easy to clean and just as the Ruger Mark III is, a great shooting pistol. I miss my Ruger a lot less now. more

It's all they say it is.
This pistol gets great reviews for great reasons. It just seems to be right--the grip--the trigger release--the sights--the easy takedown--the looks--the reliability. The recoil does seem to be subdued. I have shot pisto...ls before that were somewhat intimidating, with their noise, recoil, and uncertain trigger release. They made me feel like I am holding a bomb in my hands, and not certain when it will go off. It makes for inaccurate aiming and decreases the enjoyment of shooting. Not at all like the PX4. It's a lot of gun for the money, especially the great price Academy Sports sold it for. more

    Clint Eastwood
Got it January 13-2013 This is my first Hand Gun. We took it to drainage ditch in the Country to try it out and fired about 20 rounds at a Paper Target. I finally hit the Center. We left at that point. Since we got restr...icted from the Property I was left with practicing with an Exact Replica Umarex .177Pellet Gun (excellent $100) Fired 100s of rounds. Then In July2017 I got the balls to go take the License To Carry LTC test (Tx). I Aced it easily the Instructor told me I was pretty good with that pistol. In the final review he was referring to me as Clint Eastwood. This gun after you get used to the First Double Action pull probably has a lighter pull than Glock. You can get around the first DA by cocking the trigger. Oh yeah and these guns are goin up in price $499 10/13/2013 more

    Beretta didn't let me down!
Bought this gun on April 1st, 2016 for my wife as she is wanting to get her CCL. I took it apart that night to clean it. It is extremely simple to break down for cleaning. It had very little excess oil residue to clean a...nd I probably didn't even need to. It's just a quirk of mine to clean every gun I've ever bought and clean them first before trying them. It's just something my dad taught me and it probably is a throwback to when gun manufacturers used to use copious amounts of cosomoline when they shipped firearms that were all metal. The special polymers and alloys they use today don't really need it but I am a creature of habit, so I did it anyway. We took it to the range the next day and ran 100 rounds of Winchester USA FMJ 9mm 115-Grain through it without a single FTF or FTE. My wife is a novice at shooting so she, understandably, was all over the target at first. But with a little practice she was center mass after 50 or so rounds.. I have been shooting for 40yrs and found the sights off off slightly high and to the right. Still, at 15yds, I managed 1-2 inch group shots with a full clip. I am a Sig Sauer man by choice. But I must say Beretta has got me convinced to go their way. Their pricing and quality is outstanding (Sig has gotten a little bit too expensive nowadays). I felt so good about this purchase that I went and bought the Beretta PX4 Storm in .45ACP for myself. It was hundreds less than the Sig P227 I really wanted and had less magazine capacity but that's for another review. Hats off to "Jimp" and the folks at Academy for a great buying experience. They even took the time to pacify my wife with taking a picture of my wife and I making the purchase. I probably could have bought this pistol and the .45 online. But then again, I would have had to deal with the hassle of finding a FFL dealer to send it to, waited on the purchase to arrive and paying for the shipping and transfer fees. The little bit I saved was not worth it to me (even having to pay the 8.75% state tax). I would recommend this pistol and buying at Academy to anyone interested in purchasing a firearm. more

    Perfect gun period
great gun. Ran more than 1000 rounds already without an issue. I know its a nine but recoil compare to other nine is even less thanks to the rotating barrel. Cleaning is very fast and easy. I was deviating between a 45 a...nd a 9 but since 45 was out of stock i chose the 9. Best decision ever, 9mm ammo is cheap which is crucial since am out shooting on a regular basis. Everyone that shoots it loves it. Shot a sig and just didn't feel right. You wont regret buying it. more

I got this pistol as a first time buyer, with little education about the different types styles and brands, much less caliber and size. Boy did I luck out! This pistol has been user friendly, and it'll take a beatin...g. I've put around 1000 rounds through it, never an issue. Easy to take apart, clean and put back together. Excellent quality, and eye-catching too.
I've had it for about a month, and after having run 500 rounds through it, I can say that it is excellent. I ran 6 other brands of ammo through it, and it had no issues whatsoever, even the really cheap dirty stuff ...that a lot of other guns have trouble with. Also, make sure to clean this gun when you first get it, and oil it lightly, the thick grease it comes with from overseas makes racking the slide a bit harder than it actually is. Other than that, I can say that it is yet another good Beretta product, looks great, very ergonomic, good weight to it, and most important of all, it is very reliable. Only problem I can find, is the magazines being the stiffest I've ever encountered in any gun, and that some of the controls on it take a bit to get used, but beyond that, it's among the best guns I've shot. To top it all off, Academy's price is the best I've found anywhere for this pistol, brand new. more

Great little handgun for HD and range
This is my first gun and I love it. I bought mine back in 2012 and it is a great little range gun and I am sure that it would be really good for home defense as well. First of all, it has a great form factor. It's b...alanced and it fits in my hand better than an XD, a 92fs, or a Glock 17, which are the three pistols that this guy gets compared with a lot. Obviously your experience may vary because we all have different hands. Switching mags is butter-smooth and everything operates really well right out of the box, no modding needed. I am a little wary of the plastic guide rod but you can get a stainless one for something like eleven bucks if that scares you. I haven't shot it that often but I've run about 400 rounds through this thing with no issues, including +P that I bought by accident and HD rounds from Hornady. Some people complain about the look, but I love it and if you don't like the look why would you buy the gun? more

    Excellent balance, fit and accuracy
This was our first firearm purchase and we've had this gun for two years now. My wife and I have put more than 1K rounds through it and never had a problem. I bought it after we had several robberies in the area and... initially my wife was very reluctant to try it. But once she grabbed the grip - absolute turn around of opinion. She loved it - it proved very balanced even for her small hands, fit well and showed great accuracy (which is why I do not argue with her anymore!). It is very easy to disassemble and clean. Parts fit snugly and I do not see/hear/feel any wobble when you shake it. The safety and de-cocking features are very easy to reach and operate. One person mentioned that the spring of the magazine is a little stiff and that is correct - you need a loading tool to help you load it. But this is included in the box so not a big deal. I would highly recommend this pistol - reliable, easy to shoot, easy to clean and easy to make safe. What else do you need?! more

    Grotesquely under rated pistol
I have three PX4 and they have all been outstanding pistols right from the box. Don't be afraid to get a display unit if that is all Academy has left. One PX4 I use to train with has over 2000 rds through it. It has... gone about 900 rds without cleaning. I've dropped it on the rear sight with a full magazine. A total accident--but the gun did not suffer any damage. I've sweat all over it from carrying it. It has been in 10 degree weather and 105 degree weather with no issues. I've dry fired and cycled the slide about 30,000 times. I even attempted a full detail strip of the slide for the first time on any pistol other than a glock. It was fairly easy but the point is that the gun went back together just fine an operates great. This gun is a full size gun but is not too big to carry. I've searched the internet far and wide for bad reviews of this gun and found only a handful in the years since it was introduced in 2004. Firearms manufacturers are having a very difficult time keeping up with demand without sacrificing quality control. My experience has shown than the 4 Berettas that I've bought this past year have zero issues and have run top notch from the box. This is a rare occurance these days. I highly recommend a full size PX4. I have three of them for a reason. more

    Excellent quality and function
My wife picked this up and said she had to have it. She can easily cock the slide on the Storm unlike my Glock or Ruger. It is balanced well, excellent grip, Finish is easy to keep clean. Comes with 2 17 round mags and f...ires perfectly. My only "gripe" is the goofy rotating barrel and block in the slide. It is not difficult to reassemble but just seems like an old design or something that requires paying attention to. My wife likes the safety and decocker and everything is in easy reach for her to operate the gun one handed. more

    Great weapon
This pistol is Great. Easy breakdown and cleaning. Minimal recoil and smooth operation. Looks and feels great. I have fired 500 rounds in the past month and not a single jam or misfire. Only Issue I had is that on the fi...rst time at the range, the point of impact was off. It was constantly off to the left. I took it in to the gunsmith and he discovered the front sight post was a little off to the right, which caused me to shoot to the left (not by much). The post was centered and it was noticeable that the front sight dovetail was shorter on the right side and when flush on the right caused it to be off. Once the armorer centered the front sight and checked the rear sight it now shoots a tight group on target. I love it. ($10 fix) I don't know if the issue has been corrected at the factory but other than that, you will not regret investing on this pistol. I bought this to go along with my Bretta m9. The grip is very uncomfortable after about 10 min, my biggest issue was you could not hit the broad side of a barn at 20 yards. I had four different people try and every one h...ad no luck even hitting a target with every type of ammo you could put through it. Also after about 200 hundred rounds the finish started to flake off, sent the gun back to be refinished and had the barrel replaced thinking it would fix the issue of grouping. And same thing could not hit anything past 15 yards. Ended up trading it for a shot gun more

    Best Bang For Your Buck
I've owned this shotgun for about 10 years now and I couldn't be any happier. I prefer pump over semi-auto and if I were given the chance to buy another shotgun all over again I would definitely get this same g...un. I purchased this as a field gun and turkey gun and I have yet to take it out for it's primary purpose, waterfowl. I have never been goose hunting or duck hunting but I imagine that it wouldn't let me down in the reeds either. The tear down of this gun is extremely simply and easy to maintain and clean. I have owned Mossberg and hunted with Remington and I feel more at ease with this Benelli. At the time of my purchase this gun was only $50 more than a Mossberg 500 and came with the Max 4 HD graphics. You cannot go wrong with this purchase. more

    Well built, smooth action.
A joy to shoot. The pump-action grip feels secure in my hand and is very smooth, not slightly wobbly like many other pump shotguns. At least 500 rounds through it already without a single FTF.

    Sweet gun
I've used this gun two seasons. It's definitely a durable waterfowl gun, it's bounced around truck beds and boats, been dropped in mud, completely submerged in saltwater and just generally abused. It isn&#...039;t the lightest gun around, but It points well, so it doesn't bother me. I've killed a lot of ducks with it, and I'm sure it'll kill a lot more. more

    Wow
I bought this gun 3 weeks ago. so far i have put 800 shells through it and will probably have close to 1500 by new years. ... First off, the gun can be field stripped in 45s (not kidding). Second off, the pump is so smoo...th that i can hit 4 birds hand tossed up before they reach the ground. Third off, this gun comes with Benelli's full 10 year warranty. Overall i could not be happier the gun cycles anything without flaw, recoil is minimal ( my 10yr old sister could shoot this) and i have no doubt that i will be able to put 20,000+ rounds through it over the next couple years (i shoot alot) more

I bought this gun 4 years ago and it has been amazing! I've put well over 1000 rounds through it shooting anything from 2 3/4" 8 shot, 3 1/2" 000 buck, and slugs. Amazing!!!
As all Benelli's it will never fail you. I have put over 600 rounds through (dirty and clean shells) and it has NEVER jammed. Take care of it and it will take care of you. This gun can shoot many different size roun...ds and it works as it should. This gun can be used anywhere from skeet shooting to turkey hunting, really any kind of shooting that could involve a shotgun. It is a great hunting shot gun because it is so easy to field strip if wet and needed to dry. Everything you need to do a field strip is on the gun. I have out shot semi-autos with this gun. It is very easy and fast to pump and load. ONLY complaint is magazine is small if skeet shooting, it can be a pain but just keep several rounds on you at all times.  more

    Sub $400 quality
I have owned a 700 adl for 4 years in 7mm 08. It loves the Winchester silver tip ammo at 1/2 inch 100 yard groups. I'm not going to tweek a trigger or modify a gun in any way and for a shot out to 300 yards this gun... is fine if the rest is right. I practiced on clay disks placed on a burm at 300 yards and became confident with a rest. The next day I took a hog at 310 yards and its buddy at 280 in a full sprint. I may never do that again but it sure was fun to do that day. more

    Gets the job done everytine
I bought a rem model 700 bolt action 243 about 4-5 years ago for my oldest son's Christmas present. With the right scope, it made the perfect riffle for a teenage hunter. Since then, I've purchased two more for... my other sons as they became hunting age & a model 700 270 cal for myself. Fact of the matter, you could spend more $ on other models & brands, but these guns have never jammed or misfired once since we started using them 5 years ago. Best Gun for Whitetail!!!
We've had this gun for years (an earlier build) and it has worked wonders for our family. It packs a good punch when shooting the deer and is great for my kids to hunt with as well. One thing to remember is to get a... HIGH QUALITY scope which of course (in my case) cost as much as the gun. There's no use buying a gun just to put a cheap scope on it and never hit a deer good. more

    After modifications, a great rifle
I bought this rifle as one of my first serious Hunting rifles.  First, get the trigger tuned down to 3lbs and nail polish the threads.  Next, dump the rifle plastic stock and get a B&C or H&S Precision ...ADL stock and torque it in at 60 lb rating- $300. Next, get DNZ low series one piece scope mount and rings- $50.  A $200   3-9x40mm Burris Fullfield 2 will do the job for a robust great hunting optic.  Then do some reloading ladder loads and bullet set just off the barrel lands by 0.015.  Now it will shoot and group well.  All that work= $550 + 379 tag and your time reloading= $900 to $1000.  Save your money and buy a Tikka Rifle.  Out of the box a Tikka shoots factory ammo sub MOA.  Reloads with little work and no seating off the lands=  1/2 inch accuracy with just ladder loads alone.   Buy the tikka and don't look back.  If you want something that shoots 1.5 inches out of the box and just that... this remington will do it out of the box but if you want laser accuracy out of it... you will pay to minimize variables that you don't have to do buying a Tikka.  Do yourself a favor, save your time and energy, buy the Tikka instead. I and others have learned the hard way on this. Time and Energy wasted as well.  Do the work and it will shoot great.  Don't do it and it shoots very rough.  more

    Great value
I bought this for a good hunting rifle that can be modified over time without breaking the bank. Had a 4-12×40 scope mounted on it, took a few rounds to zero in, and couldn't be happier. A lot of people commen...t and say they are upset that their gun did not come with the x-mark pro trigger, but that is false. This is the budget model, and does not include a drop plate or the adjustable x-mark pro trigger. I have heard complaints about inconsistency with the weight of trigger pull, but i have not had any problems through my first 75-100 rounds. This model is about $250-$300 cheaper than the next model 700 and with that money i can buy a new trigger assembly, sling, etc. So i am not worried about it. For the price you will have a hard time finding a higher quality gun, especially one with more readily available parts on the market. Great gun more

    Great 308 for hunting!
I've had my Remington 700 ADL for about 4 months and have really enjoyed my new 308!! I am a bit of a beginer, but I have been happy with the accuracy , and it has been good enough for good kills when hunting thus f...ar. 308 is a great calaber and I would suggest people to go with this caliber and go with the ADL and save the money unless you feel the need for a supressor later on down the rode. But the calibers of the 700 seems strange to supress to me since you would take away quite a bit of power from something like a 308. Savings Galore! But Detrimental to many Reviews
I have owned 7 SPS AND ADL Remington 700 Rifles. My 2 latest .308 Cal rifles in ADL were found to be fouled way more than the factory test firing . To have an accurate rifle you must clean this puppy before you shoot it ...the first time! All across the reviews I found a lot of reviews with out info on whether they cleaned it or not. Even when I cleaned for an hour I found a great shooting rifle. The blueing process is no doubt the culprit on of what is found inside these bores. Please let us know if you cleaned the bore 1 or 100 times before you condemn something of value you cannot perceive. more

It is what it is. I have had no problems. Any accuracy problems I have with this rifle is user error. I would recommend getting a model, such as the CDL or SPS, with a drop plate for the magazine, so that you don't ...have to chamber a round to unload the magazine. Great Rifle and Great Price!
I have had this rifle going on 6 months now and have really enjoyed it. I have fired nearly 500 rounds through it without a hiccup. My only complaint is that the trigger is not very consistent in pulls weights. Another r...eviewer touched on this as well but I feel that he is correct. Not as advertised
I love Model 700 rifles and own several. When I decided to purchase this rifle as a base for building my son's next Christmas gift, I thought I was getting a great deal. I should have looked it over better, because ...it did not have the X Mark Pro trigger as advertised. I hoped the cheaper trigger would be OK, but one trip to the range proved otherwise. Even though it repeatedly measured around eight pounds on the bench, it was not repeating steady pulls when loaded and firing. One or two felt lighter than five pounds, and one pull felt more like twenty. It was so hard to pull that I let go and cycled another round before firing. This inconsistency prevented me from getting a good zero that day. The next week, I purchased a new adjustable trigger that is dependable and repeatable at it's set weight. Something I wouldn't have had to do, if the XMP trigger had been installed, as advertised. Now, with the right load, the rifle will repeat sub MOA accuracy without difficulty. I still feel the rifle was a good deal and now that I've completed the whole project, I love it. What's more... My son does too. It's his first "serious" rifle. We're looking forward to next hunting season, when he can put it to some good use. This rifle would rate five stars, if it had the XMP trigger. Obviously, with this experience, I feel four is more appropriate. more

Quality Not As Good As Older Models
I have always loved the 700 series of guns. The synthetic stocks on these ADL’s is horrible. At least mine was, it flexed so badly after every shot I thought it was going to break. Good gun deserves better reputation.
Bought mine new. I have put over a hundred rounds through it without a hitch.  The cylinder swings out close to the frame and ejecting spent brass can be fussy, so maybe this is not a good choice if you speed reload.... I have fired ammo with higher than recommended pressure and no problem. Be aware that you CAN get materials failure that way. Some of the gun is made of plastic, more or less. Following manufacturer specifications is best. Buckshot and special defensive rounds are utterly effective inside 20 feet. I did not test any at longer range. I managed to put 4 out of 5 rounds inside a three inch circle at 35 and then 50 feet, surprisingly accurate for a snub nose.  If your intent is to have a few rounds available, and a lot of options, this is a good gun. more

    The best concealed carry!
I’ve shot over 15,000 rounds through my Glock 17 in the last 3 years. I was skeptical going to the smaller framed Glock 26 but it feels and shoots exactly the same. With a proper grip technique I shoot the same as ...my G17. I’m a larger man and I was worried about concealability but with a Kydex IWB holster it disappears into my love handles at the 3:00 position. I’ve never had a single FTF, FTE with a Glock. GEN 4 is super
My son is getting his class 3 license and wanted a pistol that he could conceal. He shot well with my Glock 19 but wanted something a tad smaller in 9mm. Also, he is left handed so the Generation 4 was the way to go with... the ambidextrous mag release button. Well, after we went to the range, I immediately noticed I was shooting tighter groups than with my 19 that has an upgraded Dillon Precision barrel. Go figure. The 19 is too big for me to carry concealed, so I decided I had to have one for myself! I'm right handed but still got the GEN 4 as it has the upgraded spring which may be the reason for tighter groups. Yes, it is more expensive than a GEN 3 but this is something that involves life and death issues and accuracy and Glock reliability is sort of important, yes? I've shot about 500 rds with high quality reloads (yes, I know the warranty.) without one issue. more

    Love this weapon
Just got this for Xmas. 1st time shooter. My brother in law is in law enforcement, and suggested glock. So I decided on the 26. This thing is great. @ 21 feet It looks like I've been shooting for years. Very accurat...e or maybe I just have a good instructor. It is a bit tough to load and recommend using speed loader. Other than that. It works for me. I've run about 1000 rounds thru it, and had one round not fire. Cheap ammo. My guess. Also I'd like to add it was very easy to break down and clean, and you can hide this thing comfortably where you please. It's easy to forget you have it on you. Happy more

    Accurate and reliable.
Owned a Glock 23 before buying the 26, wish I would of bought this one instead. This pistol is very accurate, and with 200+ rounds through it the first time at the range it performed flawlessly. It's a perfect CCW p...istol that conceals very easily, I can wear t-shirts and it doesn't show any print. Great gun. more

Cool little carry pistol that can keep you safe!
After buying a Glock 27 I decided to purchase a Glock 26 from Academy Sports. I have a Glock 19 which is concealable but the subcompacts Glocks are much easier 2 hide if you are a CCW holder. The Glock 26 & Glock 27 ...are almost the same gun as far as size, weight & being concealable. The 27 has more fire power but less rounds chambered in 40 caliber & the Glock 26 holds less power but holds more bullets chambered in 9mm. The 9mm round is cheaper than the 40 & are more available. Plus you can always buy bigger magazines that will fit in this small gun if you want more bullets! The gun is reliable & cool. It makes you feel safe & is small enough to make you forget you are wearing it. It's one of the best little 9mm pistols out there. more

    Glock handle
We all know the great performance of the Glock series of pistols. What I wanted to address is if you have slightly large hands as I do but still want the concealment of the 26 etc. Go to your home department store and bu...y a roll of ''Grip tape''. I just cut strips of it and stick it to the handle. It bonds great and you get on heck of a firm grip. It works. Thank you Academy for supplying these excellent line of pistols. more

Best Gun - Love my Baby Glock!
I am a female and have tried several of the petite / small guns marketed for women, but this gun is the one! I have never felt safer and more confident in the gun's reliability, as well as my ability to handle it. I...t fits my hands perfectly, and the slide is easy to pull back. The only thing I had an issue with is loading all 11 bullets in the mag when it was new. It was a tight squeeze, so I just loaded 9. I feel like if I can't protect myself with 9, then I don't need a gun in the first place. I also need to mention that it this gun is accurate to the tee, and I cannot even shoot that great. I managed to still hit the targets every time. I will never own any other gun than this Glock 26 - it is hands down the perfect weapon all the way around. more

BUY 2 one for you and one for the wife
LOVE IT. Has not failed once even after multi-magazine rapid fires with cheap gun range re-ammo. Carries VERY well on man or woman. 11 total rounds 10+1. Customizes easy with grips, sights, flashlight attachment rail, la...zer hand grips or on rail. Several gunsmiths for these are widely known. BEST HAND-GUN I have ever owned (and best for price to date), and have basically helped sell 4 GLOCK's to friends and co-workers. Best Gun I own
The Glock 26 is, in my opinion, the best 9mm subcompact handgun available. Buy something else.
Bought this glock about year ago. Has been a good gun. Has function flawless. The problem I have with glock in general is all the accessories you have to buy to decent shooter. First of all plastic sights have to go. I h...ad to get extended slide release and extended take down lever. Replace plastic guide rod with metal one. When is all said and done this 500 dollar gun becomes a 900 dollar gun. If I could do it all over again I wouldn't buy the glock. For 900 dallors I could purchase higher quality gun. more

    Great Guns for the Price
I purchased a Marlin 444 in 1979 through the Rod and Gun Club while stationed in Germany. I love that rifle. What's not to like about it. Ammo prices have gone through the roof on it now because it was considered an... obsolete round, but Marlin has reintroduced it, so hopefully that will generate more demand for the ammo. The Remington 240 grain soft points are devastating on everything you hit it with, and I was really excited some years ago when Hornady introduced the 265 gr FTX Leverevolution round. Unfortunately they really didn't do well in my rifle due to the rate of twist. Oh well. But I have enjoyed that rifle so much, I decided to get the Marlin 336 in 30-30 about a year ago. I just finally got it out to shoot and I can't believe I never owned a 30-30 before. Man is that a joy to shoot, and even with open sights, this 64 year old man can still hit consistently at 150 to 200 yards. I have only fired the Remington 150 gr and 170 gr Core-lokt ammo and have had no problem with either bullet weights. I have a lot of other rifles, but the Marlin's are probably the best value for the money. And the ammo is less than 1/2 what I have to pay for the 444 Marlin rounds. I found it to be super easy to clean and maintain. more

Marlin is back Jack! Marlin 336W Review 2018
I recently purchased a Marlin 336W from Academy and I am very impressed with the quality. I know there is a lot of bad press for the newer Marlins made by Remington, but this rifle proves otherwise. The wood to metal fit... is excellent, the sights are not canted, the magazine tube is centered under the barrel, and all the parts fit together well. In the process of looking at/purchasing this rifle, I interacted with three gun counter employees and a manager, and all were very helpful and knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend buying from Academy. more

I bought this rifle and shot it twice. Put about 200 rounds through the rifle. The quality is good. I cleaned my rifle every time after shooting. It does not rust. Great lever action deer/hog gun. Every hunter should have at least one trusty lever action and Academy is the place to find the right cowboy gun for your needs. This is a very effective rifle from within 200 yds and it is easy to handle and shoot when in tight spaces. Recoil Is light to moderate, so I am not uncomfortable shooting it in the tree stand or the tripod. I love that ...it holds seven shots without having to reload. My Marlin 336 rifle is a beauty. The 30-30 cartridge is accurate and completley deadly. The recoil is fairly light. A Classic
The 336 is a now-classic rifle that Marlin built its reputation on. It has been flawless for all of its 62 rounds. I haven't tried any of the newer Hornady LeveRevolution, but it feeds and fires the soft-point Remin...gton, Winchester, and Federal just fine. The mechanics and take-down are simple, and it's just a real joy to shoot. My eyes aren't as good as they used to be, so I may change the sights at some point, but the factory sights are certainly adequate. more

    Nice gun!
This gun is really high quality for the money. I was looking for my first deer/pig rifle and researched every bolt action and caliber under $400 but kept coming back to the quality of the marlin. The 30-30 may not be as ...powerful as some others but with leverevolution it still hits with over 1000 ft/lbs at 300 yards, that's plenty! It's a lot more fun to shoot than a bolt action and the quality is great! Beautiful gun, looks twice as expensive. 1" groups at 100 yards easy with cheap Simmons 8point scope. I love this gun. Excellent Quality and Price
I purchased this 30-30 lever-action rifle for my girlfriend as a Christmas present last year. She loves shooting it and the weight of the rifle, plus it's fairly accurate up to 100 yards. Easy to mount a scope, alth...ough not as fun since these lever-actions traditionally run with iron sights perfectly and aren't meant for extreme hunting at long ranges. Ammo is decently priced at around $14 a box of 20 with round tip bullets to not scratch up the interior of the action as rounds are pushed up and into the barrel. Great buy for anyone who wants their first rifle and enjoys hunting up to a deer sized game. more

Tube fed, lever action, side ejection, easy scope mount, light weight and perfect for deer and boar hunting in the brush. Out to 150 yards, has plenty of umph to take down deer. With the new Hornady Lever Evolution soft ...ballistic tipped bullet, accuracy got a whole lot better, brings the venerable old .30-30 competitive for hunting again. Love the lever action for quick follow up shots and the extra capacity of the tube magazine. Also a good, gentle recoil rifle for ladies and youngsters to start hunting with. Buyers Beware
Both my father and grand father have Marlin 336C that are almost 50yrs old and still look and work like they are just out of the box so i figured why not buy one for a great bush gun. I oiled it down and once it was sigh...ted in i was very imprested by its grouping at 100yards. I took my new Marlin 336W out to shoot some wild hogs which i killed 1 at about 75yards and another at about 65yards (it was raining), so automtically i was hooked and loved the rifle. Much to my suprise i became very angered to see that over night the barrel had rusted in 3 places (i cleaned and oiled it shortly after the hunt). I looked up the problem and now have to spend $200 to cerakote the rifle to prevent rust in my wet climate. Buy the 336C not the 336W!!! more

    My Wife Loves It!
The Sig is perfect for personal protection, specially for carrying it in a purse. My wife and I were looking for a gun she felt comfortable with and was reliable. She used to carry a .357 mag revolver that proved too muc...h for her. This Sig is smaller, has very little kick, and most importantly: the slide is very easy to pull. The slide was the very reason why she had a revolver and why she rejected many other gun brands and models. The Sig slide is the easiest one to pull. We burned through 100 bullets that same afternoon we purchased the gun without any problems at all. She also cleaned the gun because it is just that easy to disassemble and clean. more

    Accurate dependable pocket gun
Let me start with the cons my first issue is I got the gun less than 10 days ago for the 519.99 coming to 565 or so anyway they dropped the price down to 499.99 which they have done before. Someone told me to go talk to ...them at customer service and it's happened to them and they gave him the difference other than that I've had a few bullets lock up on firing there were flat nose Target Winchester 95 grain other than those two jams the more rounds of put through it the more and more fluently it fires seeming to get better as I go I've shot the 45 Springfield own SD40 and the Taurus 9 111 Pro which I don't recommend buying and out of all this sig is my favorite originally bought it with intentions of something that was small easier to conceal lighter to carry and that my wife who is a smaller woman would be comfortable shooting as it turns out not only am I Blown by the quality of the gun but the fact that it has almost non-existent recoil and the reset on it is also great real easy to follow up shots getting back on target 2 jams one loading initial first bullet in extra clip which academy did not sell me And one while firing an ejection error.cleaning and disassembly is trickier than sd40 and the care you need to take while reassemble careful not to forget to push Down lightly on ejector when putting slide back on. BOTTOM LINE GREAT FUN BUY IT. OH bodyguard feels like a poorly done 380 after firing the 238. Sights are amazing glow in light and dark allowing fast and accurate firing. Yesterday 147 of 150 rounds all on target more

    Love it
I wanted a pocket gun I could feel confident in. The other less expensive .380's on the market did not make me feel confident I could hit a target if needed so I bought the Sig. Smooth operating I could feel the dif...fernce in quality just from holding it and pulling back the slide. This and the sights made me feel more confident than any other .380 I saw when shopping but twice the price. When I took it to the range at first I was not too impressed. Such a small gun in my big hands took some practice for comfort and accuracy. A couple of failures early on with some flat nosed bullets. I have now fired at least 500 rounds now without failure. With a little practice I found the confidence I had hoped for and Feel great about it. Very accurate and dependable for my use. I love it and feel it will not fail me if need it. I put Hogue grips on it from the first shot which I feel also helps. more

    Great Gun
I bought this gun at Academy last year as something to conceal-carry. I've always had good luck with SIGs, and was looking for something easier to shoot than the Bodygaurd 380 I was carrying. I knew when I held it t...hat this was what I was looking for. Then I took it to the range and loved how easy it was to shoot and surprisingly accurate for a 2.7" barrel. The SigLite night sights were a bonus. This is the plain model,no fancy finishes, but a solid performer. The only change I made to it was putting on Hogue rosewood grips. I have now shot over 400 rounds through my P238 and have had zero problems. That is the kind of reliability you want in a carry pistol. This one has my highest recommendation. more

    Excellent gun
Top Notch Quality same as Sig's larger pistols. Best sights of any micro-carry pistol. Academy model seems to be the price leader for P238 currently @ $519. Recommend changing the grips as 1st improvement. Rubber gr...ips are thicker and provide better grip as well as inexpensive upgrade. Wood, aluminum, & G10 grips more attractive and add contrast but about same thickness as ugly originals. I enjoyed the form & function of my first P238 so much I bought another one. more

    Replaced Walther PPK
I bought this gun two months ago and I know how important a review is because I read many on this gun. I purchased this exact same model at Academy and absolutely love it...after figuring the ammo out. First of all, acad...emy has the best price on this gun, and if you don't like the grips and want to upgrade them you can always purchase them from Sig. Secondly, the ammo, I found that the ammo that works best for this gun defensive wise are Fiochi and Hornady 90 grain hollow point XTP. I have have shot 200 plus rounds with those two ammos with no problem at all. Shooting the Bull YouTube also rated those two as two of the best brands in the Self defense XTP to use for small .380. I have shot two hundred plus rounds of FMJ with no problems either. The two brands I had a problem with where Federal hollow point 90 grain and one other hollow point(whoops forgot name). Be sure to keep this gun cleaned and well greased and lubed, because it is a .380, but in my opinion, the most reliable one on the market. Hope this helps. more

The clip with extender feels a lot better in my hands... and the night sights glow all the time. Spent a little more than I wanted to but glad I did. I highly recommend checking it out. more

    Best .380 Out There
I've owned my Sig Sauer P238 for a few months now and ran about 300 rounds through it . Never any issues and feels great . I have tried different ammo and this pistol accepts all of it . No FTF or FTE with any price...d ammo . The gun is light , very easy to rack and has fantastic sites . There is no other .380 that equals the features of this particular gun . I will probably purchase the 9mm version [P938] in the near future . more

Sold other guns right after I shot this one.
Bought this from Academy in Kannapolis NC two weeks ago. Cleaned it and made sure the feed ramp was nice and shiny. Oiled it and then took it to the range. Shot about 60 rounds of Remington UMC and a magazine of PPU dirt...y Russian stuff. Flawless operation. This is a high quality pistol that will be my goto CC piece.  more

    Really like it
Since I developed a wrist problem, I can't shoot my bigger guns anymore because of the recoil. So I did a lot of research on the 380s and decided that although I like the design and looks better on the P238, most th...e info I read said that the Glock 42 has the least amount of recoil. So I got the chance to dry fire the Glock (at another store) and I found just doing that, it put my wrist at an angle that aggravated it. Surprised me but it but I can't argue with my wrist. So then I dry fired the Sig, oh my, it felt so good and natural. When I shot it at the range after buying it, it felt great to shoot. No problem even with my screwed up wrist. Very accurate, reliable and fun! Happy I got it. more

    Best gun hands down!
This is an awesome little pistol, SIG did it right with this one. Very easy to carry. You will need an extra magazine. While the size is great to carry, you might have to get use to it. It feels like a mini 1911 in your ...hands. You will not regret buying this firearm. Academy does have the best prices around. I highly recommend this SIG Sauer to those looking for a great carry gun that is small enough to carry, but has a little more punch than a .22LR. more

Sig Quality & Your Life Justify the Inve$tment
Top Notch Quality same as Sig's larger pistols. Best sights of any micro-carry pistol. Academy model seems to be the price leader for P238 currently @ $519. Recommend changing the grips as 1st improvement. Rubber gr...ips are thicker and provide better grip as well as inexpensive upgrade. Wood, aluminum, & G10 grips more attractive and add contrast but about same thickness as ugly originals. I enjoyed the form & function of my first P238 so much I bought another one. more

    Great pistol! Fantastic price!
I purchased this gun from Academy about 3 weeks ago and I have to say that Academy offers the best value on the best 380 auto pocket pistol on the market. Academy sells this gun equipped with Tritium night sights as stan...dard along with the 7 round magazine with finger rest. The next closest deal on this gun is $40 more, without the tritium sights, with the 6 round magazine. Some don't like the 7 round magazine for conceal/carry, but it's easily concealable w/ the 7rd mag in jeans or shorts or virtually any reasonable pant type with no problem, with a $10 blackhawk sportser holster and it looks like a wallet in my front pocket. The gun itself is a super easy shooter, virtually no recoil and extremely easy to pop 7 rounds in a 4 inch group in under 15 seconds at 10 feet and a 6 inch group at 15 feet. As I think we've all learned, it's ALL about shot placement, whether you're using a .380 or a .45, so I'll take a gun I know I can always be confident in the shot placement that's lightweight and super easy to conceal every time. You can't beat the quality of the Sig Sauer. The guy who wrote the 1 negative review obviously didn't buy the gun. more

    Sweet Shooter
Been having trouble finding a semi auto that my wife would enjoy shooting, this sig P238 turned out to be the one. Purchased this gun yesterday, took it home and oiled it and went to the range, it preformed flawlessly, g...reat sights, slide is easy for my wife to work, and my wife loves the 1911 style trigger, she has trouble with flinching on longer trigger pulls. I haven a Bursa Thunder 380 witch I like and is a little bigger, but this little gun has less recoil and in reality more fun to shoot. I checked internet and local gun shops, could not find this gun at a better price. more

    Fun To Shoot
Hope this helps. more

    Great Features!
The Academy model of the P238 has excellent day glow/ night sights that are optional on most other versions of this pistol. Many reviews of this fine little handgun claim that it is a small 1911, but internally it is a m...uch more refined design with well proven elements of Beretta, Sig, and the Browning HP present. I have had a couple of failures to fire with Winchester white box FMJ ammo due to hard primers, but I have also had the same failure with a Walther PPK/S. No problems with any other type of ammo. I highly recommend this pistol for anyone that has a problem retracting the slide on other handguns. The accuracy is excellent, and those sights on the Academy are as good as it gets. more

    Great Concealed Carry Weapon
I am a big fan of Sigs and this is the only subcompact that feels good in my hand right out of the box as it comes from Academy with a slightly extended 7 round magazine, although I highly recommend the slightly thicker ...rubber aftermarket grips. Easily concealable in an ITW or pocket holster, very light, and extremely accurate. Tough to beat Academy's price and impossible to beat their friendly, efficient service. This is the third handgun I have purchased from them and I doubt I'll ever buy anywhere else. more

    Shoots like a dream
I had a Walther PPK .380. It was a nice gun and I loved it. BUT, for conceal carry it wasn't worth 2 cents. The Walther is very heavy for a small gun and prevented me from dropping it in my pocket and leaving home w...ith it.   A Police Officer friend suggested the Sig Sauer P238 .380.   This is the best gun purchase I've ever made, hands down. I've fired 200 target rounds through it and it is very accurate. Forget about jams, the action is tight and smooth. The is my conceal carry gun and I'm buying 2 more. CCW
Had an issue with this gun at first.  Tried several types of ammo and all of them would cause a failure to feed.  Winchester 95 grain FMJ (little WB)was the worst because of the flat head. At first I thought it... was the magazine so I purchased another mag and was still having the issue.  After further research, I determined the feed ramp might be the problem.  I polished the feed ramp (metal polish  from your local auto store will do just fine) and now I have no failure to feed issues with any type of ammo.  Just make sure to not sand the feed ramp.  You can find videos online that provide more details. Despite the issue, the Gun itself is fantastic and shoots great! I have not had any problems with the gun and absolutely love it.  Will be buying another soon for the GF.  Just wish Sig had better QC.  more

    Best bang for the buck!
Picked mine up on Black Friday for $249.00 without a scope because of the good reviews, and the fact that Savage had a $50 rebate which takes it down to $200.00. Where can you buy a high powered rifle for $200? I also pi...cked up a budget Simmons 3x9x40 scope for $49.99 with a $30.00 rebate, scope rings and a base and I'm shooting. Took six rounds to site the scope in and I'm shooting 1/8" to 1/4" groups at 25 yards. With a 1 in 9 twist barrel I can say it out performed me. From a sand bag with cheap ammo the groups are as follows; 55 grain Remington UMC FMJ 1/4" group, 62 grain HP russian ammo 1/8" group, 75 grain HP tul ammo 1/8" group. Not bad shooting for a old man with a cheap budget rifle and scope. Stock is thin and feels cheap, gotta save money somewhere I guess, trigger (non adjustable) is tough but manageable (probably pulled close to 7 or 8 pounds). Imagine what you could do with this rifle with an adjustable trigger and a decent scope? Sub MOA rifle! For the money it can't be beat! more

    I love this pistol.
All the other reviews were dead on correct. If your a fan of 1911's this is the gun for you. I CCW a Kimber Ultra .45 with a three inch barrel.Kimber advertises it as a good conceal weapon. It's just to heavy. ...I got my new P-238 Sig in January. I made a couple of modifcations. Got rid of "Micky Mouse" grips and replaced them with a set of nice Rosewood aftermarket one's This really improved the handling. The extented mag is great and gives you even more control on such a small gun. Came with only one mag? I purchased another from Sig and they are pricy at $45. Do NOT buy any other aftermarket mags, you will be dissapointed. The Sig night sights are unbelievable. You will have to see them to believe them. The trigger pull was way to heavy so I got my local gunsmith to lighten it up to about 4lbs. Holsters are hard to come by since this gun has been out there for about a year.. I finally found one from "Bull Dog" that fits like a glove. Got a little long winded here and hope this helps someone. more

An excellent choice if you are looking for a nice concealed handgun to carry. It is light, accurate, and apparently very cheap at Academy compared to the other stores. I purchased mine and have been extremely happy with ...my purchase. I carry it daily and it rides very well on my belt or inside my waistband. The accuracy is awesome for as short as the barrell is. The extended magazine lets my pinky finger get a better grip, thus leading to better accuracy. The night sights are top notch, it almost looks like a couple of fireflies sitting on the pistol in the dark. I would purchase this pistol again in a heart beat! The Daily Carry Solution
I've put over 1,000 rounds in the 6 or so months I've owned this pistol in an effort to make sure the trigger (7 pound pull) was broken in. I eventually had to have a trigger job and now it shoots much better. ...Excellent little pistol that you can conceal if you're only wearing shorts. Easy to carry all day in your pocket. I've had no feeding, firing, or ejecting problems whatsoever and I have to say that the factory trigger is the reason I didn't give it 5 stars. misfires...
I purchased this .223 Axis at Academy in Midland, TX on 7/24/2016. I finally had a chance to go to the range and site it in, it misfires at least 40% of the time brand new. I have tried Hornady steel match# 80274 and Col...orado Buck .223 55gr Varmint. The Colorado Buck had a few less misfires than the Hornady. This is not acceptable for a brand new rifle. Contacted Savage customer service, sent it back to the factory. they repaired and test fired and said it passed. Received it back, 9-1-2016, put the scope on and returned to the range. First shot was a misfire...my heart sank...I fired a box of 50 each Hornady steel match# 80274. Out of the 50, I had 7 misfires. Better than before but that isn't what I would expect from a brand new rifle. I also took my wife's .223 and fired the exact ammo and had zero misfires...I know that ammo is good. What next? more

    Accurate, great value
Bought this over the adjustable sight version to save some $. Very accurate, the fixed sights are large with good sight picture. I did dab some yellow paint on the front sight and white around the rear sight to help my o...ld eyes when using a black target. Function and lockup are very nice. It is not a light gun and the long barrel makes it a bit muzzle-heavy, but not bad with a two-handed grip. I only use CCI Mini-Mag for 22LR and it performs flawlessly in the Rough Rider. The zero recoil and long barrel gives me much tighter groups than my heavy caliber handguns more

    Fun little range gun.
I bought this so I could have a gun that my kids could learn how to shoot using iron sights. 1 pull, equals 1 shot.

Fun Fun Fun what can I say
I bought this gun over a year ago. It is like shooting a bb gun. Much cheaper then 308 for long distance. Let's face it. There are very very few long range ranges around. I am lucky to have a great range by me. Long... Range Alley. Louisiana. We have a 1000 meter range that's great for .50 cal but we also have a fun open field range out to about 600 meters. I spend much time there with this fun rifle shooting all day for very little. No recoil and .223 is much cheaper then 308.

For the money it can't be beat! more

    outstanding performance
I bought this rifle in a .223 for my wife last year. This rifle exceeded my expectations in every way. I paired it with a $50 simmons scope and its dead on at 100yds all day long. Put a buck on the wall last year and has... out shot several far more expensive rifles. The action is also smooth. You won't be dissapointed with this rifle. more

    Meat hunting
I had barrel cut down to 18 inches. I squirrel hunted with it most of the 2014 season. No misses out of 130 shots on squirrels. I shot 1 doe with it. I reload and it shoots 1" groups at 150 yards with <4mph cross...winds. I lost the mag had to get replacement from savage. Great tool. more

    Fantastic rifle.
I got this rifle about seven months ago. I don't know if I could find another rifle that so exceeds what a rifle of this price should be. Accuracy is fantastic, getting .5 MOA at 100 yards. It does have a trigger th...at takes a bit of pull, but you just have to get used to it. The only thing that would make this rifle even better is if it had iron sights, but trying to find a bolt action .223 with iron sights is very difficult today. All in all, this is the best rifle purchase I have ever made. I don't hunt deer, but if I did, I would buy an Axis in a larger calibre and not look back. I don't hunt at all, and I use this for target shooting only, but I love it nonetheless. If I could give it six stars, I would. more

    Best Bang for your buck!
For the $259 you spend on this rifle you could say...the stock is not fancy, the barrel is not high finish old style bluing, it doesn't turn any heads at the range, but it does do what its supposed to do. It shoots ...tiny groups and does it well. You wont go wrong with this purchase. more

I HAVE BIG NAME GUNS. BUT...
I BOUGHT THIS RIFLE AGAINST MY BETTER JUDGEMENT. I BELIEVED A RIFLE AT THIS PRICE WOULD HAVE ACCURACY AND RELIABILITY PROBLEMS. I WAS WRONG! THIS RIFLE WILL SHOOT 1.5 " {5 SHOT} GROUPS AT 300 YARDS WITH 62 GR. FED. ...AMMO. I ASK THE SALES ASSOCIATE AT ACADAMY FOR .223 AND THIS IS RIFLE HE SAID WOULD BE PERFECT. MY GRANDSON AND I HAVE SHOT OVER A DOZEN WILD HOGS UP TO 275 #; AND HAVE NEVER HAD ONE RUN AFTER A HEAD SHOT WITH A 62 GR. FED. PENATRATER! GREAT RETAILOR!! more

    best 223 ever
love this rifle! bought it when I was 10. I took it to the range to sight it in with my barska 8x12x40 scope and hit dead center at 200 yards. I love this gun it has no recoil and absolutely no jams or errors at all. im ...not to Shure if this gun would be a good deer hunting gun unless you can find bullets over,65 grains but it is a perfect coyotes and varmint rifle. it is very accurate, after all savage is the definition of accuracy!! more

    Good little rifle
I have a savage Axis in 308. I have a nikon 3x9x40 scope mounted on it. I have had it out to the range a couple of times, and to day when I was out there I shot a 3/8 inch 3 shot group at 100 yards using Fussion 165 Grai...n bullets. The reason that I gave it four stars is because of the fit and finish of the stock, it is good at best. The function so far has been excellent. It can't be beat for $269.00. more

What next? more

    Heck of a gun
This is one serious home defense gun. I have shot 00 buckshot at the range and blown away the bad guys on the target. It would be hard to miss at 10 yards or less.

    Awesome Gun !!!
I purchased the Mossburg 500 Cruiser and all I can say is that it is an awesome weapon for its intended purpose. It comes in a water tight plastic tube that is perfect for storing the gun in, while it rides behind the se...at or in the trunk. This is a self defense shotgun designed to store in small spaces. It's easy to handle and operate and it is very accurate within it's intended ranges. more

    Good shotgun
Bought this shotgun to have something I could transport easily in the patrol car while doing security. Shotgun does have a lot of recoil, so I changed out the pistol grip for a breachers grip. That took about 60 to 70 pe...rcent of the recoil out and made it a whole lot more manageable to shoot. more

    For Home Defense
Nice lightweight shotgun. i ran some 2 3/4" rifled slugs through it and it does thump your wrist so i'll use low recoil slugs next time. the top is drilled with four screws so i plan to add a picatinny rail. do...wn side is that for me to add a magazine extender i will have to purchase another barrel and this barrel is not threaded so you cant add a choke. more
