    Sig Sauer P2022 9MM
The Sig P2022 9MM is the cheapest high quality home defense firearm on the market. It’s high compacity and very accurate.

    Excellent
Bought this gun 3 weeks ago. I’ve run 400 rounds through it with nary an issue. Very accurate right out of the box. Long trigger pull for double action but very smooth. Very light follow up shots. I thought this wo...uld work IWB but it’s a little wide for me. Recommend this for open carry only. Two 15 round mags included. Fine pistol I highly recommend to anyone looking for a quality DA/SA semi auto pistol. more

High quality firearm for a low price
Shot my 2022 for the first time about a month ago and was not disappointed. Hit what I aimed at from 7 to about 20 yards. Recoil was smooth due to the weight, it's a SIG, so it's not light. I personally wouldn&...#039;t carry it as it's a bit too heavy and bulky for me - I'm 5' 7" 170 lbs., but that said, a bigger person with a heavier frame could carry it without much issue. Came with 2 -15 rd. magazines and a case lock. All for $399 plus tax. Can't beat it. more

Great Pistol. Bang for the Buck!
I bought this pistol about month ago and have shot thirty rounds or so. I fired from 15 yards away and making 2 inch or so groups on target. I like the feel of sand style grip texture and size of the pistol fits me like ...a glove. My cousin shoots a Smith Wesson 9 shield and was very impressed with Sig SP2022. First upgrade later on might be trigger job and stainless guide rod.-- reason I did not give five star rating . All in all , I'm satisfied. more

    Great Firearm
I wanted to try a hammer fired semi auto. This gun appealed to me so I bought it. I have shot 200 fmj and a box of the Sig elite ammo. It fired every one without any problems. Just need to train on that first double acti...on pull. I cut off the extension on the magazine to make it easier to conceal. This is a high quality da/sa gun at a great price. more

    Note on content
I purchased this last night, and have not fired this pistol yet. I did want to note for others who also have earlier 2022 packages, that this is a "basic" kit, which does not contain the alternate grip set or S...ig pancake holster that we saw a year or so ago. But the SIG promo mag adds value. It still is a good price on a valid hammer fire pistol more

    Sweet Shooter
This is my first Sig. Now I can say it will not be my last. Straight from the box it was accurate. From the very first trigger pull, it felt broke in. My wife is not much of a shooter but preferred this over 3 other bran...ds. Most of which are high end. The price was better than I expected and the extras helped. Two mags, two different size grips and a holster. No one in their right mind could turn down such an offer. Thanks Academy! more

    Great gun
I’ve had this gun less than a month, so I’ve only been able to put 100 rounds through it so far. I absolutely love it! I only gave it 4 stars because the front sight was out of alignment. Not sure if thats th...e manufacturers fault or mishandling on academy’s side. Other than that I’m very happy with my purchase! Shoots smoothly and accurately. more

    Great Gun
I was really worried because of the price point for a Sig. I figured they must have put a lot of cheap parts in the gun. As it turns out, it works like all the others I own, but with the polymer frame, and use of less me...tal, you get a great price point for a very good pistol. It is just as accurate as all the other Sigs I have. Boy was I surprised. Pick them up now before Sig figures out they can charge more. more

    Great starter pistol
This pistol is arguably the best value in a DA/SA 9mm semi-auto pistol. Best grip texture I've ever found. Brand new and it cycles a variety of FMJ and JHP low end ammo flawlessly. Might be a bit top heavy for some ...shooters, but I find it helps minimize muzzle rise. Long and heavy 10lb trigger pull in DA first shot, but you can carry a round in the chamber fairly safely as a consequence. Besides you can always cock the hammer with a round chambered to get SA for less trigger pull and better accuracy. French police forces tested it with hundreds of thousands of rounds before adopting it countrywide. more

    Fantastic pistol
The Sig Sauer 2022, is a great accurate and reliable pistol. Its is modeled after the P226 but the 2022 is just a lower cost, but does not lose any of the Sig Sauer performance. Trigger is a little long in double action,... but very easy to get use to. If you want a accurate reliable high quality Sig Sauer and not be disappointed the P2022 is it. One and only drag, Sig Sauer magazines can be costly. more

I have owned my SP2022 for about 3 years. Only gets better with time. I have probably put 2000-3000 rounds through it. Extremely accurate. Excellent Pistol. Perfect for the range. Ideal CCW
I bought this pistol recently and I am very impressed with it. Many people compare this to the P226 and I can see why. The SP2022 is very similar in both function and feel as the other P226, but for a fraction of the pri...ce. The only major difference is the SP2022 has a polymer frame instead of metal. With modern advancements with polymers gun makers can make their frames out of the material to reduce the overall weight of the gun without sacrificing the strength or durability. This gun shoots true, cycles flawlessly, and has not had any failures as of yet. The French Police shot more than 400,000 rounds through the SP2022(without a single failure) before adopting it as their primary service pistol. This gun excels in all categories that matter to me. Its both reliable and affordable. For nearly half the price, you can get a gun extremely similar to the P226. Buy the SP2022 if you are in the market for a $400-500 handgun, you will not regret it. more

    shoots horrible
I bought this a few months ago. I went to the range and put about 300 ends thru it. I was using three different types of ammo. It shot bad with all ammo. I had one failure to load. I has to be the worst gun I own. I shot... with my ruget sr9 and was very accurate. The sig was all over the place. My son shot with it also and agreed. I bought the gun because so many people praise it. My glock 21 was smoother and a lot more accurate. I really like the way it feels and the design. But if you cant hit your target, what's the point. Haven't decided what to do with it. I may try sending it in, but from what I read, that's pointless. Or I may dump it at a show. more

    Great firearm!
I got this because it was a Sig and it was at a great price! The capacity is a good 15 rounds and the magazine is high quality. The grip is textured and is easy on the hands when shooting. The slide release and decocker ...are very easy to operate without losing grip. The trigger is average and gets better after putting rounds though it. Recoil is a dream with this gun and is barely noticeable. I recommend this firearm for first time shooters and seasoned shooters alike. more

    Terrific Value!
I've had my 2022 in 40 cal for a couple of years now and am very happy with it! To the negative reviewers...If you're going to compare this to a top of the line SIG or any other $900+ gun than of course you are...n't going to like it much. Compared to a Glock or S&W M&P this thing holds its own! I'd take it over many much higher priced guns as well. I'm not a firearms expert, but this gun is reliable and affordable. Very reliable and accurate!
This was the first pistol I bought about 6 years ago and loved it, never had any problems. I put about 3500 rounds through it and it fired like new, my groups did tighten up after about 200 rounds when I got it. In hard ...times I had to sell it. Now that all is well, I purchased another one this past weekend at Academy and to my surprise Sig started including two mags, the small size grip, a holster and it's in a nice plastic case, even on this basic model. They used to come in a cardboard box with only one mag. I noticed on one review someone said they don't like carrying it with one round in the chamber because it has no half cock like a 1911. Well you don't need a half cock with this pistol. The hammer will not hit the firing pin unless the trigger is pulled, it's one of Sig's safety features. Just try it, pull the trigger and hold it down and push the hammer all the way forward to see how far it has to travel to hit the firing pin, then release the trigger and try to push the hammer forward, it won't. If your in the market for a reliable pistol that not to expensive, GET IT! Look this pistol up on You Tube and check out the torture test and reviews. You can't go wrong with Sig Sauer when your life depends on it. more

I shot local reloads, new brass, aluminum, and steel cased ammo with no feed or ejection problems. I did have three FTFs in 100 rounds of Monarch steel but a second pull of the trigger took care of that problem. The Pro 2022 shoots the cheapest ammo I can find with excellent performance and accuracy just like my P220 Combat. Yes the frame is polymer but this is still a Sig Sauer. I looked a lot and you can’t find a better hammer fired DA/SA pistol for anywhere close to this price. How will it withstand 5000+ rounds of cheap ammo? I’ll keep working on it until I find out. I’m sure if there is any problems, Sig Sauer with take care of them. One negative, provide at least two magazines. more

    Straight Shooter
I have owned this Sig for about 9 months, felt good in my hand at the store, and is very comfortable to shoot. I has ate everything I put in it. Took a couple of mags to get dialed in and used to high bore axis but after... that it has been a nail driver. I had a budget for Glock, held them both and SIg felt better and I saved money to boot. I conceal carry this gun and it is confortable to carry all day long. Sig quality at an amazing price. more

    Impressive
I purchased this pistol about 3 weeks ago for 429.99. The cost is less than most Sigs but I still consider a good sum of money and the pistol still maintains the quality one would expect from Sig Sauer. I have shot aroun...d 450 bullets through the gun and it performed flawlessly. I am a through and through Glock fan and is mostly what I own. I believe in Glock perfection. This is my first Sig and I am taken away by the overall quality, accuracy, and dependability so far. Smoooth trigger pull and decent reset. Perfect carry gun with one in the chamber and in the de-cocked position. First shot will be the long double action pull and the subsequent 15 being the same smooth short trigger pull in single action. I shoot more accurately from 10 to 60 feet than any pistol I have ever owned. I have heard of people having trouble finding a holster for it. If you are in that category go to shtfgear.com or shtf holsters on amazon. They make and excellent iwb holster for the 2022 for 59.00. I love mine. The top edge where the pistol enters is bevelled out making it credibly easy and smooth to re-holster you weapon. more

Great quality and extremely accurate shooter!
I bought this firearm as an experiment. I wanted a P226 or something like it, but couldn't afford the 1000+ price tag. This was to be a compromise gun. That said, I'm no longer looking for any of Sig's hig...her priced guns because this does all that I want! It's easy to operate, easy to take-down (especially for people who are familiar with 1911's) and easy to carry. I especially like the added benefit of the hammer for additional safety when re-holstering (thumb hold the hammer to make sure an accidental/negligent discharge doesn't occur). I ended up gifting this to my sister later because she needed a gun, but I would re-purchase this again in a heartbeat. I could hit a bobbing and swaying human sized target chest or head as it was moving backward...and did it easily. I shot better with this firearm than I do my Glock 17 even. I'll be picking up the Sig P320 now that I've given this one away. And I'm sure that one will live up to the hype as well (though this SP2022 is better looking IMO, the Sig P320 carry will conceal a little better). more

    Poor Design
Very sharp recoil for a 9mm. Even fully loaded the heavy, tall slide is too much for the polymer frame. It points like a Sig, but doesn't shoot like one. It was like they took the slide off something like a Sig 229 ...and haphazardly added it to a light polymer frame. It didn't work. After only 50 rounds I am giving up on mine. Avoid this model. more

Best gun g for the money in my opinion.
I purchased this gun about 3 weeks ago. Took it to the range. It is VERY accurate and has a nice easy trigger pull. My wife shot it as well and also liked it. For a big gun - and what you get - it's amazing. It'...;s not a carry conceal weapon - but if you're looking for a full-size pistol- it's the best deal on one out there I think! It's a Sig Sauer! Highly recommend. more

A great and oft overlooked bargain
Being a long time SIG owner of most of their higher end guns I was slightly skeptical of this "polymer wonder" but the sale price at Academy was just too hard to walk away from. What to say other than "wow...". Out of the box it shot great giving the SIG performance that I have come to expect. It carries far better than a 226 or 229 without giving up any of the firepower or performance. The only thing I have done to the gun is replace that low end "dot sights" with SIG #8 trijicons and the performance went from very good to excellent.I might add a after market steel guide rod later(a little extra front end weight) but do not think that it is really necessary. If you are looking for a good CC gun or entry level gun that isn't a Glock(and cheaper than a Glock!!) and not as pricey as the higher end SIG's but still has the performance...then this is your gun. more

    Amazing Pistol
I had originally come in to buy the Beretta 92A1 and decided to take a look at the P2022 and it felt great in my hand. I decided to get this weapon and do not regret my choice. Straight out of the box it fired amazingly.... I have put 500 rounds through it and haven't had any jams even though I've been using cheap target ammo. more

    Smooth great action
I purchased this gun nearly a year ago. It has lived up to its reputation as a very fine hand gun to own. It is a little to large for a pocket pistol, but it can hide alright as a holster gun under a jacket are untucked ...shirt without notice. The trigger pull is so easy it only took 3 shots at 60' to be in the bulls eye, and from then on thats where they stayed. I'm a USMC Vet with a ground pounders training. I know how to appreciate the feel and performance of a fine tool such as this hand gun, so I rate it as excellant. more

    Poor man's 226
My 2022 has proven reliable with nearly 1,000 rounds down range. Only one hangup(FTE) that was ammo related. In the right hands the gun is accurate, though the frame/default grip size may not fit all well. You may have t...o experiment with different grips/techniques to find what yields the best accuracy. (Note Sig makes different grips, but they can be tricky to find now) Holsters are limited compared to similar Glocks or XD's, particularly once a light/laser is added. I still prefer a 226 (metal frame and added weight for a nightstand gun), but for the money the 2022 is still a great value and one of the cheapest DA/SA 9MM on the market. more

Wife had to have this one
We came to the store looking for a SIG P938 but left with a 2022 and could not be happier.  The wife is getting into shooting and she is a natural.  She wanted a P938 to carry but before she put her card down t...o pay felt this one in her hands and had to have it.  She loves the SA/DA trigger and was hitting the center of the target right out of the box.  Now I must say my wife is a country girl and a natural shot but with this gun if you can't hit what you are aiming at maybe you need just a little more practice.  This gun has had two FTE in the first 200 rounds but it was all on the cheapest ammo we could find.  She will get her carry gun but I have been told this one is going to be her favorite range gun/Bedside pistol.   more

    A New Sig Fan!
I fell in love with this gun as soon as it touched my hands. Everything about it just feels right to me. The slide is smooth! The lever release is so easy to operate and placed perfectly for me! The decocker is wel...l placed as well. The grip just seems to form to my hand. I tried every other major brand and nothing felt anywhere near as good as this did to me nor did they operate as smootlyh. Now, I am a new gun owner with limited experience shooting friends guns. I was only able to get off 50 rounds at the range with no issues using Blazer Brass 124 grain to test and start the break in period. After the first few mags I got adjusted to the sights and was making 3 to 4" groups from 7 and 15 yeards. I also purchased some cheap DRT 85 grain hollow points to keep for home defense. I shot three of them to see how well they would work, and while they fired smoothly, two of the three casing failed to eject properly jamming the gun slide. I spoke with someone else who has fired many of those DRTs through his 2022 with no issues at all so I'm wondering if this could just be the newness of the gun as I haven't fully broken it in or the lightness of the ammo at only 85 grains? I just Purchased some Hornady Critical Defense 115 grain rounds to replace the DRTs but haven't been able to shoot them yet. I can't wait to go try them out as I'm now looking for reasons to go back to the range to shoot my new gun. Did I mention I like this gun? more

    Great side carry
Have owned this gun for over 3 years countless boxes and brands of ammo. Not a single malfunction. I have let many friends fire this 2022 and not a one had a bad thing to say, in fact praised it for its accuracy and feel.... I paid $350 back then the price has gone up that means the secret is out. It's a Sig brand new for under $500 grab it while you can. Very light weight this is my everyday carry. Watch out Glock! more

    The Cheap 9mm
The Sig SP2022 9mm pistol is a good pistol it has a great size and weight, its got a smooth slide action and a good trigger pull the only fault that I have with this weapon is that finding holsters and spare magazines is... very difficult and expensive I bought my pistol in May and in June I had finally found a holster that was not an outrageous price I find it ironic that not even Academy sells a holster to fit this weapon I also went to Bass Pro Shop and to my local Walmart and none carried a single holster for this model pistol I was finally able to find one on Amazon and I have yet to find another magazine that was not 60 + dollars yes this is a good affordable pistol but it is a pain to find different accessories for it. more

SA DA 15+1 SIG only $399
Great looking gun better looking than a Glock 19 and a $127 cheaper, and it has a hammer and de-cocker. 15+1 SA/DA , I have had several hundred rounds through it now and no FTE or FTF and it is starting to get better on ...the accuracy like others have mentioned. I think this pistol is a little thick to be a conceal carry(I like the LC9 for carry) but it is a good tactical piece picatinny rail and high capacity. Comes with a real nice fitted case but only one mag, extras are $40. I have seen this gun $30 cheaper online. more

Great duty or home defense weapon.
I bought the sig p2022 in 9mm a year ago from Academy and I just got a second in .40. Both guns have performed flawlessly. They have the quality construction you would expect from Sig Sauer but at half the price. The gun... is very easy to operate and tear down. It's very accurate and has a smooth trigger pull. Mine does seem to be a bit picky with rounds (just don't use the real cheap stuff). It is a bit heavy for a polymer frame but it's not bad. I've used mine as a duty weapon and for home defense and I'd highly recommend it. It could also be used for concealed carry with a sturdy 2 point holster. Overall a great gun that I'd bet my life on. more

    Great low priced pistol
I found this pistol to be superior in many ways. I use only Winchester FMJ ammo. I found it to be the best for range and home defense. I won't say this is the best low priced 9MM pistol, but it's up there with ...many others. It cycles smooth and I had no jams. Be sure to clean it before you fire it the first time. Keep it clean and it will work well. Comes with only one mag, bought an aftermarket mag and it also works well. more

    Great Choice
I did alot of research before I purchased and I am very pleased with the Sig. Smooth and easy gun to use. Looks great and easy to clean. Very accurate. It comes with a 15 round mag, its own hard lockable case with a cabl...e style gun lock and an smaller back strap (which I recommend for normal to small hands). I would purchase a second mag because once you start shooting you will not want to stop. This gun is somewhat large for a 9mm, but my fiancee has no problem handling it even with her small hands. It has an attachment rail for accessories such as the led flash light with laser. For the price, you can not go wrong with this gun. more

    A Sig that needs breakin
Bought mine last year and put a box of Federal through it and was not too impressed with accuracy. Went home, cleaned it again and then read online reviews. Several experts all stated this gun needs over 500 rounds to ge...t broken in properly, ouch! Back to range with the kids and let them blast away at 7 yard line. After 6-7 boxes and a couple of quick range cleanings, the darned thing started shooting like a Sig after all. Now with over 700 rounds it shoot as good as my S&W and Beretta. Great price from Academy, I really like DA/SA pistols over DA only. This one does not have half cock or a safety, it does have a decocking lever where some have their safety. I am reluctant to carry a hammer fired pistol with one in the pipe and no half cock or safety. This would be an okay service piece or range gun, once you break it in properly. more

    inconsistant
After more than 500 rounds the pistol it is so inaccurate at a mere 25 ft I would use it for self defence only if I did not have a bat. Have tried Speer Lawman 115 fmj, russian brown bear115 fmj, bitteroot valley 124 jhp..., and remington 115 fmj. Russian Brown Bear seem to do the best but even that was terrible. Sent back to factory,.... they sent it back saying it was fine. 5 shoots in 10 seconds at 25 ft gets you a10-12 in. pattern. I can hit a 2" bullseye at 50yrds with my ruger 22, but cant hit a 2" spot at 20ft with 10 shots with this gun. Save your money for a Barretta or Browning BDA 380. They are very accurate out to 50 yrds more
