    Super comfortable
I fell very comfortable carrying this gun. I will definitely recommend this weapon as a backup.

Depends on what you’re using it for...
I got this gun about 3 years ago and I keep it as something light for when I’m out jogging. I don’t care for it and would much rather carry my Glock 43 any day over it. The trigger pull and reset is atrocious... as you have to come all the way off the trigger to reset it for another shot. I pulled the trigger for what seemed like forever before it finally went bang. Almost like having that reoccurring dream you’re in a gun fight and your gun won’t go bang (that’s pretty scary, especially for my LEOs). It takes forever to use up a single box of ammo! I was raised on Glocks and have gotten used to the trigger pull being about 7lbs and then bang, so not having this ruins this gun for me unfortunately. Otherwise, it’s a good gun... I guess... at least for those that aren’t gun enthusiasts. I hope this helps someone. more

    What was I thinking?
So I bought this useless thing about a year ago. I took it out to sight in the laser for about 9 yards. So I turned on the laser ad pulled the trigger, and pulled the trigger, and pulled the trigger, then bang! So I star...ted to release the trigger and it was long. This little pocket pistol has a horrible trigger. No second shot capability, no one even makes a good trigger and gunsmiths can fix it. It is just not a pistol you want for a gun fight or more than one shot. The trigger pull is so long that you have to reposition the little feller that your shot will be off. It is not ideal for a CCW because if you when you need it, it will take too long to pull the trigger and get a shot on target, don’t waste your time or money. more

    My Perfect Pocket Carry Choice
I've been pocket carrying one for nearly five years. The compact size and a good holster makes for convenient and safe carry. There are different schools of thought regarding the use of lasers, but aside from that, ...the laser is an excellent training tool for mastering the trigger and improving your accuracy. The trigger pull is long and heavy on purpose. With practice, I no longer notice either. It has been 100 percent reliable and as accurate as it needs to be. more

    Bad choice
I bought this gun about 5 weeks ago. I liked the size and safety features. After about 100 rounds the magazine catch failed and the magazine dropped from the gun when firing. I sent it back to Smith and Wesson. They fina...lly sent it back to me after about a month. The magazine still wouldn't stay in the gun when fired. I decided I wasn't going to be able to trust the Bodyguard and sold if for a loss. I bought an LCPll. I liked the Bodyguard style and safety features, but dependability is more important than style. more

Does what it's designed to do
Bought the bodyguard and a Glock 26 both from academy .Comparing the two is akin to comparing a VW beetle to a Mercedes . The SW is not a bad pistol just not great past 15 yards . But that's exactly what it's d...esigned for close in self defense as in knife fight distance . It's long heavy trigger pull and short barrel are not designed for distance . In fact it's so long I find my shots pulling left ,not insurmountable if you are aware of it and adjust . Also shoots horribly low . Maybe in time I'll get more in tune with it's inherent faults. If i go to the range with it it's adequate at 15 yards and in . It works never jams always fires it's just not a Glock more

    The wife loves it !!!
Bought this for my wife to carry, she loves the weight and feel of the gun. She also loves the built in laser site. I will say this pistol kicks pretty hard, but all short barrel 380's do. She likes this one because... it has a little longer grip than the others she tried and it fits in her pocket easily. This is a double action trigger gun so that means you can have a bullet in the chamber and it will not fire unless you pull the trigger all the way back (like a revolver) so it is much safer than most others. more

    Great little 380
I have had this S&W Bodyguard 380 for almost 8 years now, and I must say I really like it. I have shot it at the range many times, and yes, the trigger pull takes some getting used to, but to me, its not that bad. Co...uld it be any better? Sure it could, but to me, its not that bad. I usually pocket carry this, or sometimes IWB carry it in the summer months, under a t-shirt and shorts, when I really want to deep conceal, without any printing. more

    Wanted to love it
I really wanted to love this gun. My husband got it for me to CC. I love the size of it, the feel of it, the laser, the safety....but the trigger made me search for another cc handgun. It is so long that that the first t...ime I fired it I kept checking the safety because it would not fire. I am petite and that trigger pull was just too much. My husband can keep it for his CC. He loves it more than me. more

    Best small pistol ever had!
Just bought this 380 today and took it straight to the shooting range. The feel and fit it has to your hand is better than any other small pistol I have owned. It has most all features you would need including extra maga...zine with a different floor plate to give choice of hand grip. The safety switch is there when needed and the laser trace will definitely be a plus for hard to see targets. When all finished at range you can store pistol back inside carrying case it came with or any where without hassle. more

    Great gun
I purchased this pistol this past Wednesday and took it to the range the next day. I had read the reviews concerning the trigger and found it to be somewhat hard to pull. That said I found it to be an extremely good fire...arm. After getting used to the trigger eccentricity I was able to shoot very accurately at ranges of 3, 7 & 10 meters. I was able to put 6 rounds into a 3" at all distances. My other .380 a Taurus is not accurate at any distance and the sights are nearly non existent. My laser is ranged to 10' and is very accurate. The recoil is very smooth leaving the gun about where it was when I fired it. The main reason I purchased it was for CC and it has a safety where my Taurus didn't. more

    Very Bad Trigger
Bought this MP 380 for concealed carry. I'm really glad I did not need it before I went to the range. The trigger pull was so long I just about gave up on it firing! By the time it fired I was jerking shots all arou...nd the target! Spent another $100+ for the trigger kit, installed it and now I can hit the target! The trigger kit really makes this a good gun to carry. I don't understand why S&W does not fix this problem. So be ready to spend a total over $500. for this gun to get it to a good carry weapon. After installing the trigger kit, I would give this M&P 380 a 4 star rating. more

    Long trigger!
This trigger is awful! I love S&W, but even after replacing the trigger... It's still 8 ½ pounds

    Terrible trigger
Just bought this gun and took it out to the gun range for the first time. What a DISAPPOINTMENT. The trigger has a very long pull, such that it seems like it will never fire. You will also need about 20 pounds of strengt...h to shoot this pocket gun. A friend thought it had the safety on when he tried shooting it. I hope I can get it fixed. I'm calling Smith & Wesson to see if they will fix or change the trigger. Bought it as a possible carry on, but I really don't think it will be of use if I need to rapid fire 2- 3 rounds. Other than the convenient pocket size, I can not recommend this gun. more

    Great Pocket Gun
Bought this gun a few days ago. Cleaned it well and took it to the range. Shot self defense ammo and Target (American Eagle). NOT ONE MISHAP! The first shot was in the black and it was surprising easy on the hand. No dis...comfort from prolonged shooting. The laser was set dead on at about 12 feet which is fine for self defense. The gun will be my carry gun soon as I believe it is as dependable and trustworthy as a revolver. All in all, a great hand gun that runs fine. more

Excellent choice for a concealment gun.
Well crafted gun that looks awesome and performs to your expectations. It has all the safety features to keep you safe when not in use. Easy to operate. Don't let the size fool you. It is powerful.

WONDERFUL GUN AND STEVE THE MANAGER TAKE CARE ALL
I BOUGHT ON JUNE 22 2015... Very good looking, and for this great price ($379.99) you get also a great red laser (it's $200!) + nice black pouch with zipper (logo S&W)... made in China (the case, not the gun!) B...ut, surprise ; INSIDE THE BOX no small brush clean kit. I have to buy one... I got my CCW, I know in GA, the open carry it's legal, but, sometimes, you need to hide your gun (ie: stores, mall)... This gun is PERFECT: size, weight, round. I love the Springfield Model 2 sub compact 9mm, but not for pocket pants, not for summer time! For ankle, winter time ok. I love revolvers (EAA 357 mag) but too big, too heavy. For home defense ok. more

    This is a Sweet Shooter!!
I purchased this for my daughter for her carry pistol as it was small, flat and thus easy to carry. It is perfect for pocket carry, and is an amazing accurate and reliable shooter. It is a real tack driver which I didn&#...039;t expect in a super compact carry gun. The Laser sight is a nice bonus, which makes firing in dim conditions easy. I thought it was hokey at first, but having used it I am a Real Believer! Great Gun!! more

    Everyday gun
I bought this gun over a year ago and have never had one problem. Well one; my girls brother wants it bad. I for one love the long trigger which makes it hard but still easy to shoot. The laser is extremely accurate. I w...as chased by a racoon about 5 months ago and the light turned him right away. more

    Great size for CC
If this gun had a lighter shorter trigger pull and the slide was easier to pull back I would say this was the perfect carry weapon for both men and women. Outside of that is has everything going for it and it is price ve...ry competitively. I love the size, the laser, the safety. Many of the 380 do not have a safety and to me that is important. It lets me carry one in the chamber and not worry about having it in my pocket or having a small child being able to fire it. The safety is stiff but can be disengaged quickly. The trigger pull is long and hard. Too long and too hard. I bought a custom trigger and trigger bar and installed it myself. I like the 380 and think it is adequate. I have never had a problem with failure to fire or failure to eject. more

    Love to carry this gun!!
I bought this gun less than a month ago. It's my second gun purchase my first being the SDVE9. My only regret, I wish I had gotten the one with the laser becasue I like lasers and lights. I have shot about 150 rnds ...all together of Winchester, American eagle, Monarch, and Critical Duty. Only one failure to fire and it was the ammo(Monarch). The gun is snappy and the trigger requires some concentration!! Oddly I shoot and hold the gun better with my left hand. My wrist started to hurt after about 50 rnds(8 magazines). I was hitting metal targets at 25yrds with this little gun. It does what it's suppose to do it's a bodyguard up close and personal. I have recommended this gun to a few people. I wish I could trade it for one with the Laser!!! ; ) more

    Best Little Pocket Gun
I have had mine going on now 6 months and I got it to be what S & W calls it which is BodyGuard. I don't go any place without it, easy gun to be able to hide it and be able to get to it when needed. Like any gun... you plan to CCW I make time to practice and I have over 300 rounds down range shooting any type ammo. I don't shot reloads and I do practice some with what defense ammo that I carry in it. One Sweet Shooting, Never had any trouble with the ammo that I have used. The Crimson Laser System is the best and I do practice some in low light where I am able to use the Laser System. It's the best Pocket Gun and Great for a CCW or a back up. more
