Smith & Wesson M&P 10 Features

The Smith & Wesson M&P 10 is a semi-automatic rifle chambered in .308 and is a derivative of the AR10, and thus can accept any AR10 pattern magazine.  The M&P 10 is built with a 16 inch barrel with a ⅝-24 thread, has a mid-length gas system and handguard, and uses an AR15 pattern telescoping stock.  Where the M&P 10 excels is in its fully-ambidextrous controls including its safety, bolt release, and magazine release.

Smith & Wesson M&P 10 Ergonomics

Ergonomics
The Smith & Wesson M&P 10 is built off of Mil-Spec blueprints and uses many AR15 compatible components including the trigger group, stock assembly and grip.  The biggest advantage to the M&P 10 is its ambidextrous controls allowing for easy use by both left and right handed shooters.  Its mid-length gas system sends the bolt back at a certain velocity to prohibit spent cases from hitting the user when firing left-handed.

Smith & Wesson M&P 10 Fit & Finish

The Smith & Wesson M&P 10 is built to the same finish and tolerances as any other entry-level AR-pattern rifle.  The Mil-Spec trigger maintains the same 7.5 pound pull.  The Type III hard-anodize coating of the aluminum components provides a good level of durability against weather and wear.
