    Great Quality and Price
I purchased an M&P .40 Pro Series about 5 years ago. I have 3,000 rounds through it and never had a failure to fire or failure to eject. I highly recommend this side arm and many law enforcement agencies are using th...is for a reason. more

    Fantastic Job S&W
I've owned the S&W M&P Shield in 9 for about a year, but was looking for something that was more enjoyable for plinking and target shooting. First off, this is a very comfortable gun to shoot and does not slip at... all when firing. Second, I was amazed by how accurate it was out of the box! A great shooter and must have for anyone looking for a quality full size firearm at an affordable price. more

SMITH & WESSON STILL THE BEST
This was my fifth S.&W. pistol and second 9mm, and the 2.0 Full Size is hands down my favorite. I noticed only two less than perfect reveiws, one concern was about a rebate which mine didnt offer and would not have sw...ayed my opinion and the second from another lady concerning the grip. Personally the grip and feel of this gun was a major selling point. I like the 17 round capacity, more of a good thing is always better. Like my other S.&.W. 9 mm its so reliable and I consistanly acheive tight groups of six rounds. Since my handsome lovable hubby cleans my guns after every trip to the range I couldnt love shooting anymore, lol. My other 9 mm I've had about 35 years is nickel plated with wood grips and is a beautiful gun however the black matte military finish on the 2.0 full size has a nice look of its own. The 45 is already on my Birthday list. Highly recomend to all. "Buy American" and MAGA! more

    Very nice full frame gun
Took my 9mm M2.0 to the range for the first time today. We shot 250 rounds through it with no problems besides a couple FTEs from my girlfriends weak grip at first which is not the guns fault at all. Never moved the targ...et out past 20 yards but we had no problems keeping it in the bullseye. Sights were dead on right out of the box. The grip is very rough which I love but my girlfriend says its too rough on her hands and starts to hurt after 100 rounds. Trigger has a lot of take up but breaks crisply and resets tactifully. Very happy with my purchase. more

    Bigger is Better
My carry gun is an M&P Shield 9mm.I recently shot the M&P 2.0 full size pistols in .40 and .45.I found the bigger pistols to be easy to handle and shoot. If I had to shoot one of the three all day, it would not b...e the Shield. There is nothing wrong with the Shield, the bigger guns just felt and worked better in my hands. In particular the .45 was more pleasant for me to continuously shoot than the Shield 9mm. Even with a nice Hogue grip and more familiarity with my Shield, I preferred the feel and operation of the larger guns. The 2.0 appear to be well built from good materials and functioned very well. I was surprised how much more impressive the big pistols were than my Shield, a gun that I am very happy with. more

    Good full size 9
I've always been a Glock fan, but wanted something smaller for my concealed carry, and went with the M&P shield. I absolutely love my shield, lighter and smaller than the concealed Glock I used to carry. But the shie...ld isn't as fun to shoot at the range, reloading all the time, and it's a little snappy (of course because it's size). So, I decided to get this to get myself familiar with S&W. I love to shoot this gun. So balanced, and the modular handgrip is amazing to help it fit much better in my hand. My only gripe is the grip (ha ha, see what I did there...) the new textures are good for wet hands, but get uncomfortable for womens' hands which are much softer than mens. I will probably dremel mine down a bit to cut on the scratchiness of it. Otherwise, I totally recommend this, it's a great handgun. more

    Greatly improved
Excellent pistol.Best improvement is the grip of the weapon. Fits much better than the original M&P and better than any of my other handguns. Also comes with a total of 4 palm swell grips to adjust to your hand.Trigg...er is improved with a lighter trigger pull but still "mushy". I also have the 4.25" barrel version. It has a crisper trigger pull/break than this model. So I'm seeing some inconsistency in the final products. Also much lighter weight than the original M&P 1.0 due to the slimmer profile on the slide. more

Nice pistol, but don't buy it for the rebate.
Really like this pistol in 45 ACP. Shoots accurately. Feels good in the hand. Haven't had a single hiccup in the first several hundred rounds.

The punch I was looking for
I have not fired a weapon since leaving the Corps and I missed shooting. I restarted shooting about month ago and have fired 9MM, 41 Mag, 45 ACP and 380 all really top end firearms. I talk to some Agency Officers and the...y had suggested the 40 SW. I watched all the comparison videos and settle on three weapons to check out GLOCK, 22, Walther PPQ and the S&W 40 M&P 2.0. The S&W has an really aggressive texture and feels like it's holding on to you. I am right handed but am Left eye dominate so the weapon needs to be slightly cocked for proper alignment and firing rapidly causes movement and requires me to adjust my grip a lot but, not with S&W 40. After firing serval strings of 10 rounds no adjustment was needed between each shot. I have found my new fun tool that punches hard and quick . I plan on trying to wear it out every chance I get. Thanks to Mark at the Cabela's in Thornton CO. for being patient with me while I looked over all three weapons and Mark made sure I received the best deal possible and applied my all my discounts.Semper FI!!! more

    Outstanding!!!
One of the best pistols of the year, if you don't already have one you need to get one or two. This M2.0 is best if seen in a long time.

    M&Pleased
Smith did a lot right and NOTHING wrong with the M&P 2.0. I own the original as well as the 2.0 and have put in excess of 2,000 rounds through them and NEVER ever have I encountered a malfunction of any kind, no fail... to feed, no fail to eject, nothing at all. The stippling on the grip is about as perfect as it could be, extremely comfortable and think you could dip it in motor oil and still maintain control of the weapon. Did I need the 2.0 along with the original, who knows but I'm sure glad I got it! Again smith was smart and allowed the use of same magazine between models. Recoil and accuracy seem improved perhaps because of the extended steel chassis. Overall extremely pleased, great job again smith! more

    beautiful pistol with accuracy
I bought it with $75 off sale plus $75 Cabela's Bucks, so it's $150 off the original price. Nice deal! It's a nice pistol with 4 different grip inserts, so it will fit into your hand very well. It can hold 17 rounds, but... still looks slim and beautiful. more

    Manufacturer claims met
This pistol fits a person's hand very well. It came with 4 backstrap inserts that can be changed to suit any size hand. The M&P came with the medium size installed and it felt about perfect for my hand. Shoots accura...tely and is reliable. It can find the last round in the 17 round magazine without any problem. Rapid fire is very controlable. The M&P would have made a worthy contended for the new Armed Forces service side arm. A domestic sidearm has not been in official military service since the venerable 1911 .45 was retired. more

    2.0 Yes !
Not over hyped in the least. Every bit as advertised and then some because you haven't had it in your hands yet. There may be a wait on new orders for the M&P .40 2.0. Hand grip is outstanding, trigger feel smooth, r...ecoil with most ammunition very slight. Shootability on target for most anyone. Balanced weight and sized for defense and target range. I chose black instead of Flat Dark Earth color that is popular with the military because it conceals better in the dark and looks like a black beauty. Price doesn't vary much so you might have to look around for a sale or rebate. 100% upgrade from the 1.0. Quality and backed by the best service in the industry. S&W hit it way out of the park with this one ! more

    5in 9mm FDE 2.0 w/ External Safety
I purchased the 9MM FDE full size with external safety about 4 months ago. I waited for a few months before writing a review and have put close to 1500 rounds through the pistol.

I already posted a review of the 40 caliber version, and within it stated I was going to buy the 45 when it hit the stores. Well, it did, and I did.

    My second M & P. Love it!
I was not surprised by the performance of this gun. The new 2.0 was well thought out and was obviously designed for the military. These will show up in some military and police department. The 40 is still popular and see...ms to be coming back. This weapon is very accurate, easy to operate and disassemble. It is what I expect from Smith and Wesson. more

    Superb handgun. My new favorite.
Got the M&P2.0 .40 and LOVE it! Pros: 1) Comes with good metal 3-dot sites, albeit not "night" sites. 2) Extremely stable/rigid due to enhanced integral steel frame. 3) Surprisingly light recoil for the gen...erally "snappy" .40 caliber. Probably in part due to the standard full length steel guide rod as well as the great stiffness of the frame and low barrel axis. 4) Very accurate for a standard non-match type handgun. 5) Great ergonomics. 6) Excellent grip with 4 different backstraps for personal preference. I needed to put grippy skateboard tape on all my other handguns. This one doesn't need it. Possibly the best and grippiest grip currently present on a factory handgun. 7) Good self defense "carry" trigger - not too weak and not too strong and good reset. 8) Excellent reliability. No malfunctions so far after hundreds of rounds fired. 9) Looks AWESOME. ... Cons: Honest can't think of a single one. I currently have 3 of the uh - popular polymer pistols you can probably name as well as other handguns and have always like the other polymer pistol and owned many for a variety of reasons; however, that company has done little over the last 3 decades to enhance their pistols and are WAY overpriced, I truly consider the M&P2.0 to be better. Longer slide/frame metal-to-metal interface and not simply metal inserts molded into polymer. The metal seems to be integral with the nicely designed steel internal frame. Better grip. Better sites. Better recoil management. Stiffer frame (definitely stiffer than the most popular polymer pistol). Better natural pointing characteristics. Etc. I am now waiting for the .45 version to hit the stores which I definitely intend to buy. more

Great control and feeling with this one!
I carry the shield 45 so this feels right in line with it and for training purpose is the same experience. The trigger is amazing, I love the wall, it feels almost like a reset without the click and then the reset is ver...y easy to find and tell. Very accurate and lots of options with the grip sizes. I use gloves and the new grip texture is amazing and locks in my gloves perfectly! I can't for the 45 version to be available! more

    Smith & Wesson M & P 2.0
My first official pistol and boy do I love it. Just took it out a few weeks ago and blew thru 100 rounds with no problems at all. Played with different size handles since the gun came with 3 additional grip sizes. Stayed... with the medium. Put several rounds in a 4" square first clip. The trigger action is awesome. Can't wait to go back out and run thru another couple hundred rounds. Taking my wife next time and to let her give it a try. Forgot to mention it looks cool too. more

    Great Pistol
Grip stippling and angle is perfect. Trigger is a bit grainy out of the box but after some minor polishing and several hundred rounds down range it is decent. Pull is long but the break is crisp as is the reset. Accuracy... is very good. Barrel lockup is tight. With 4 back straps you will be able to fit this pistol to your hand. Great fit, finish and even better feel. more

    Great Pistol
Got the 40 FDE last weekend and am very pleased with it so far. It has a very sturdy construction and shoots very smooth out of the box. I will say, the trigger is not completely "fixed" but is a definite impro...vement. I put about 500 rounds through it last weekend and will say I am impressed. I'd highly recommend this pistol to anyone. more
