    Lifetime warranty??
I bought a PT111 a couple years ago and liked it so much (in spite of the extremely long trigger pull) that I bought another one last year. Second time at the range with the second one the trigger safety broke. Sent it t...o Taurus for repairs. Took 16 weeks to get it back. My advice: spent a little more for a S&W SD9VE. I also have two of these. more

    Getting Better
I bought the 111 G2 on feb 2, and first fired it at the end of feb. I fired 2 mags through it and had nothing but trouble. So I wrote a scathing review. I took it home and took it apart. Took the edge of a screwdriver to... the rough edge of the guide rails and the top of the back of the barrel to smooth out the worst. Cleaned it and put a little grease on the rails and oiled it. Since then, only 2 jams early on out of about 300 rnds. 4 stars because I had to move the rear sight full rt to shoot almost center mass. more

    Still Waiting
Purchased g2 PT 140 40 cal. October 2017. Stripped, cleaned and lubed. First day on range, FTE every couple rounds. Returned to Taurus. 10 weeks later received pistol back with work order. Replaced guide rod spring, repl...aced missing bushing, adjusted slide, replaced 2 defective mags. Second time on range, 6 shots In the slide jammed open. Would not close and could not take down. Range Gun Smith said it was broke and should return to Taurus. After a collective 8 hours on hold over 6 days trying to reach Taurus customer service, I finally received a Fedx return label. Then I received a letter from Taurus saying "estimate time to repair 12 weeks." Taurus has had this dangerous and defective pistol for a collective 22 weeks. Congratulations to all you lucky Taurus G2 owners that love your pistol. This one is a terrible. I own several and am not a fan boy for the most popular. I just expected more from Taurus and something more reliable. Read the social media when doing your research and you will see just how many angry customers Taurus has. Good Luck if you cheap out on this pistol. more

    Good value
This pistol is good quality at a value price. Fit and finish are decent and feel is very good. Seems like the perfect size. Love the look of the panzer grey polymer. Easily concealed. Easy takedown and cleaning. Have cyc...led 200 rounds with zero malfunctions. Trigger is a bit odd and takes getting used to but the reset is very short making follow-up shots easier. 4 out of 5 overall. more

    Very Good For The Price
I purchased this on sale at Cabelas after reading several reviews. It was delivered on time and came as stated by Cabelas. After receiving it I broke it down and cleaned it. It was surprisingly accurate right out the box... with no misfires or stovepipes. The clips (2 were included) were hard to load initially, but I leave them full during storage which has greatly reduced the spring tension. Now there is no issue loading. The trigger pull takes a little getting used to. But, overall I am impressed with the pistol and would recommend it to anyone! more

    Taurus critics
For those who bash the Taurus G2c your missing a nice shooting very ergonomically gun. For bargain price when on sale how could you go wrong, I've ran about 400 rounds teehrough it and did have Two ftf s, could have been... a limp wrist as I was rapid firing without cleaning it out of the box. I will be carrying this and with break in seems to be getting better. There is a reason Taurus is out selling just about everything in this class with the G2c. All I can say is get what works for you. more

    Gray color misleading
This review is not reflective of the Pistol itself but more about the Gray color frame and Cabelas pictures representing that model. I ordered the pistol online since the Gray color was not in stock in my local store and... paid the $20 difference since I really wanted the Gray. The pictures depict a sharp two tone pistol with nice contrast, however when picking the gun up in store I was convinced there was an error and I was receiving a standard black unit. The associate assured me that it was the correct gun and what I ended up with is a black gun with a frame that is a near black color. I was severely disappointed. more

Does what it is supposed to.
I bought this about a month ago, just gave it some serious range time this weekend. I am a .45 guy, and this is my first 9mm. I did not know what to expect at this price point, am pleasantly surprised by this weapon. 200... rounds without a hiccup, 3 different brands of ammo. Accurate as well. Trigger takes a bit of getting used to but no big deal. Long term still a question, This thing was a steal at the sale price. more

    Excellent Buy
Ordered online and delivered to Cabela's in a week. Picked it up today with minimal wait. Having a CWP probably made it smoother. Took the G2 straight out to BLM land to test with a box of 50. No misfires and accurate. H...it the target every time. Trigger is light. Took a couple magazine loads to get used the trigger. I have a 380 that takes a stronger pull. With this in mind, have your target in the sight before putting finger on the trigger. Size and weight is a lot easier to handle than my 380. This G2 has the right balance and right fit.I would highly recommend this as a CCW. more

    CLICK , NO BANG!!!
I am a big fan of Taurus, but this 9mm staianless failed to fire my first time using it, for some reason the trigger/safety sticks. I sent it in for repair and its been 3 weeks and haven't heard anything. I am sure the p...istol will work great afterwards, but when will i get it????Before you leave and pay for the 9mm, do a dry fire. If it sticks at mid detent and you keep pulling the trigger fully back and it fires. that is cause for rejection. Good luck, or should I say, Wish me luck. more

    Great value
it's not a hi-point....that in itself is worth 5 stars. Very happy with my purchase and value of this 9 mm...I give it five stars because of how cheap it is despite the terrible trigger but everything else works great. T...he magazines are a bit stiff at first but if you leave the shells in them for an extended period of time it helps loosen up the springs to make a loading easier more

    I love this pistol
I love this pistol because it fits perfectly in my hand, high capacity mag, very slim for a double stack, super concealable. It works perfectly and now I have several much more expensive carry pistols that now sit quietl...y in the safe because I love this thing so much and I just don't want to carry anything else now. I did recently put a stainless guide rod and 18lb recoil spring (Galloway Precision) in it. Going from the stock 16lb spring to 18lb tamed the recoil down just a little. My first Taurus..??? but for the price and performance I couldn't recommend it more..! more

    Broke again
Purchased a PT140 40 Cal. October 2017. Can read my previous 2 reviews. First time on the range 2 days after purchase, stovepipe after stovepipe. Took back to Cabelas and they returned the pistol to Taurus for repair. Re...ceived the pistol back from Taurus 1/10/18. Yes, several weeks later on a new purchase. Repair order from Taurus said "replaced missing bushing" great, new pistol missing parts? Adjusted slide? Replaced recoil spring, again new weapon with missing parts and already needed the recoil spring replaced? What the Heck?! Also, they replaced both 10rnd mags. Both originals were defective. Took to the range this week. 5 shots FMJ no problem. 3 rounds of good hollow points and the slide broke. Slide will not close; 1/2 inch from closing. Can't take down or do anything. Range gun smith said "yep, it's broke, return it to Taurus. Tried to start the return process with Taurus and they have no record of the NEW WEAPON THEY JUST REPAIRED. I am on my 5th attempt to reach Taurus by phone. 1-2 hours each time on hold and have yet to reach a live person to simply request the return process work order. Tried the chat function on their website and have yet to connect with anyone!! For all you folks that LOVE your Taurus, good for you. You all got lucky. This PT140 is defective and dangerous. If you all think I am whining, please read the Taurus Facebook posts before you consider a purchase. I watched videos and read many reviews. I am out $300 with a defective and dangerous PT 140 and Taurus customer service is horrible! Good luck to all you that consider buying this product. Slick marketing by Taurus but they have the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Dig a little deeper than the YT videos and you will see the problems Taurus is having and why you should consider another product. By the way, I have typed this review while being on hold with Taurus for 68 minutes and counting. more

    I'm Bad
I bought this PT111 2-9-2018. The people at Bass Pro were very friendly Finally shot it 2-25. Took forever to load a clip, about 15-20 min. Worse clip design ever. Then it got worse when I put the clip in, pulled the sli...de back and released it. It stopped 1/8-3/16 of an inch from closing. I released the clip and ejected the bullet. Put the clip back in, pulled the slide back and released it with the same result. This time I hit the back of the slide with my palm, no luck, so I asked the guy shooting a 45 next to me if he would take a look at it. He finally got the slide to fully close on the 3rd try, so I told him to go ahead and shoot it. He fired 2 shots and was turning around to say something about the slide when it went all the way closed and fired the 3rd time, surprising both him and me. Now about the trigger. It is definitely the worst I have ever used. To put it in perspective I have a Taursus 4 in 38 special with a smooth 6 lb pull that I could shoot double action and consistently put 4 out of 6 shots inside a 2 and 1/2 in circle at 20 yards. This one has almost no resistance until the end. I thought I had hit the stop, but no I had actually reached the part that actually fires the gun. It is so stiff and hard that I started jerking the trigger and the gun because of the pressure required to fire it. The jerking just got worse so that even though I hit a new target the first 6 times I shot, I completely missed the next 6 and quit because I was only getting worse. getting worse. more

Very good choice for concealed carry
I have put over 500 rounds through this gun and have had zero issues. I know everyone complains about the trigger but this is not a competition gun and when used under a stressful situation you will not notice nor rememb...er how the trigger works. With that said, if you have any mechanical ability then a very small amount of light filing or sanding can make the trigger work very nicely without sacrificing safety. Since this purchase was not expensive then I am okay doing a little work on it. This gun is also very comfortable to carry inside the waistband all day. At the range it can take down pop cans at 35 feet very easily and keep a 3 inch or under grouping at that same distance on paper targets. If you want an inexpensive concealed carry gun then this is the one for you! more

    Trigger Problems.... what trigger problems?
Some owners are complaining about the G2's trigger pull. Yes, the first pull may be longer than some are used to, but the trigger resets in only an eight of an inch, or so, and subsequent shots can be made at a very fast... rate. To check this out, first empty your gun; second, cycle the slide an inch or so; third pull the trigger until the striker "fires"; fourth, cycle the slide an inch again while holding down the trigger; fifth, slowly release the trigger until you hear the trigger reset... this will be a small distance. So what's the problem? In my view, the G2 is a really good defensive handgun that allows you to put out a high rate of fire in a bad situation.... without you shooting off your big toe before aiming at your intended target. more

    PT111 G2
Read a lot of reviews both here and elsewhere before purchasing this as my first handgun. After I got it home I gave it a good cleaning to remove the excess manufacturing oil before going to the range. First trip I put 2...00 rounds through it, half brass and half steel cased. Not one single issue, each round fired and ejected perfectly. Good groups right out of the box as well. Overall I think this is a fantastic gun at a great price. It feels great in the hand and fits me well having an above average sized hand. more

    Fairly decent
I purchased this weapon about a month ago- I have fired approx. 5 magazines thru it using FMJ/ Ball Ammunition- I only had 1 stove pipe and it could have been the way I seated the magazine. The manual is vague on how to ...dis-assemble the weapon- it doesn't tell you to squeeze the trigger once you have released the slide release- once I looked it up on line it came right off. It is very easy to clean. The only reason I gave it a 4 out of 5 is the trigger feels spongy when you fire it- its not clean crisp break other weapons have. No issues with accuracy- at 15 feet I had nice groups. more

    Worst I have seen.
A lot of good hype about this gun, but it just does not perform very well. I have only fired 50 rounds through it, but I cannot see it getting any better. First, loading the clip is a pain in the butt.. Much more difficu...lt than any similar gun I have used. Just poorly designed. And the slide and safety are both way too stiff for this type of gun. My wife cannot load or even fire this gun without assistance. And its accuracy is practically non-existent. I am an avid shooter and have owned and/or fired many good, well made handguns. This gun falls way below what I consider a standard of acceptability. To consider it for concealed carry is a huge mistake. more

Great gun at a great price
For this price, it is a must buy kind of thing. Easy break down for cleaning, adjustable sights, 2 safeties, and it just works period. The trigger pull is a little long but I don’t really see that as a huge issue. The ...stippling on this gun is probably the best I have ever seen on a weapon straight out of the box. Not a lot of accessories for this gun but they are out there. I found a laser online for this gun but inside the box is a coupon for a laser and a free 1 year NRA membership. Great gun to use as your EDC or car/truck gun. Can’t give half stars but I would rate it 4.5 more

Couldn't rack a round without jamming the slide forward. Tried Winchester White Box, Hornady Critical and Speer Gold Dot. Not a limp wrister. Cleaned and lubed with CLP and no effect. If I got a shell racked, would stovepipe every couple of shots. Both mags that came with the firearm. Took back to Cabelas 2 days after purchase and they sad sorry, we don't exchange, trade or replace defective firearms. "you knew that when you signed the paperwork." Cabelas sent it back to Taurus and it has been 5 weeks without this firearm-glad I have others. Checked the Taurus repair website and says "firearm received". No idea if/when I will get it back and if it will even be reliable enough to work when needed. Your call.. Don't cheap out like I did this one time. more

    Poor man's Glock 26 ...
Dimensionally, G2 is very similar to Glock 26, except for the height where G2 is slightly less than an inch taller. The grip extension on the G2 mag is mainly the culprit. But on the plus side, G2 carries 2 more round th...an Glock 26, 12 versus 10. more

    Great Handgun
Had mine for almost 2 years now. I have about 1200 rounds through it. No failures. Super accurate. I will say that the trigger was extremely stiff and crummy when I got it. A nice polish job the trigger mechanisms worked... great. Now, the trigger is really smooth with a clean break. As always with any pistol I buy, I do a nice mirror finish polish job to the feed ramp, and inside the chamber. That's my standard to any new pistol or rifle I buy. more

    Excellent Budget Pistol
I normally buy higher end firearms but this was too good to pass up! This pistol is very comfortable in my large hands and it functions flawlessly. Grip is very good. 3 dot sights are not my favorite style but they work ...well on this pistol. The trigger breaks a little far to the rear but is is not terribly sloppy like many striker guns. Finish is good and you gotta love the 12+1 ammunition load out. It is a good pistol for range blasting, truck gun or self defense. It's a little to big to be a pocket gun so a good holster will be needed for CCW more

    Great Gun!
Bought the FDE shot over 500 rounds no issues, still have not cleaned it and still working flawlessly. Bought another one all black, have shot over 250 rounds no issues. For those who are having issues with FTE, I read u...p on the clip with the spring being stiff. I would suggest to put some ammo and leave the clip loaded to soften the spring. Awesome Pistol!
When searching for the right CC Pistol for myself, I did my homework and researched many reviews, from both expert and average persons. I chose this Pistol based on everything that I had read and watched about it, and I ...am proud to own one. There's tons of things to say about it.Regardless of what you may have read before about the Brand, this Pistol is SOLID! 100%! Before firing it, I cleaned and lubricated it (My Choice) right out of the box, just to ensure a clean weapon, though out of the box it was. Nicely Packaged. Thus far I have put 4 clips through it (48 brass FMJ rounds) and it has functioned flawlessly! The casing ejects wonderfully toward your 4:00and usually 8-10' away from you when they land. From the Slide to the Internals of the Firearm, it is all well made, and very nice to hold in your hand. The finger indentions add to this pleasant feel with positive placement. The factory magazines seat perfectly without any play, and their ejection button works well, easier pushed with thumb in my experience, though it is closer inside the grip than it is protruding outward. Some may not like this BUT, I don't mind it as this reduces the chance of in a holster, it catching on something during a draw, or the mag being ejected accidentally. The trigger is not nearly as difficult as some would lead you to believe elsewhere, and I was happy with it's accuracy. Remember, this is a defensive handgun, when under pressure in the moment, that trigger pull won't be noticed while making you (Confirm) your intent, and the reset off of the DA first pull, is awesome! Disassembly is Glock Like, so ALWAYS CHECK THE CHAMBER BEFORE taking it apart or cleaning! The Red Chamber Loaded indicator helps with this, but always rely on good safety habits, CHECK IT!All in all, I LOVE IT!! It is a blast to shoot, and I trust my life with it, hoping that I never have to. more

I bought my G2 a couple months ago and have to admit I am impressed. My previous carry was a M&P Shield that is now in my wife's care so as a replacement I took a chance on the Taurus. Besides larger capacity and jus...t slightly larger they are very comparable. Fits my holster, fits my hand, accurate right out of the box w/ adjustable sights that my shield doesn't have. Also great guarantee. Some people mention the trigger but I have no problem with it. In fact I like it better than my Beretta 92 or my M&P. So even though it's not the most expensive it is a bargain. Best Bang for the buck in 9mm.
I picked one of these up on December of 2016. I have ran well over 1,000 rounds through it. Of the ~750 steel case and the rest an assortment of brass, I have never had a major malfunction from this weapon. I can't recal...l a single malfunction when using brass, with the exception of two dud rounds. You can easily pick these up for 40% of what a Glock will cost you. The are just as solid as any other polymer pistol. You get two 12 round magazines, adjustable sights, and it is small enough for conceal carry while maintaining a decent hand grip size.I own both Glock, Taurus, and other brands of firearms. I have yet to find a better value for a pistol of this size.Clean your weapon and take care of it. It will take care of you. more

    What's not to like?
Once I shot it a half dozen times to get accustomed to the unusual trigger feel, I love it. I slightly adjusted the sights and it is the only 9mm (of 3) that have sights that are adjustable. I tried brass, aluminum and s...teel case ammo and had no problems at all. I have only had it a week but 300-400 rounds have been flawless. Taurus has a lifetime warranty and wanted me to pay to ship it to them and they would repair it. The PT111 in 9mm feels good in the hand. I was looking at the Ruger LC9S as well as the S&W shield and the Taurus had a better overall feel in the hand. The short barrel is a little snappy, but the second time at the... range I was able to adjust the sites properly and manage some nice groupings. Awesome gun for price!
My son and I went to range on fathers day and had some fun with this little gem. we ran another 200 rounds thru it with no real issues. Worked very smooth and consistent with blazer and american eagle ammo Winchester whi...te box and IMI were great as well! I did have a problem with Herters 9 mm ammo though. Although it was very accurate it was a dirty ammo and fouled up the ramp and chamber as well as barrel within one clip. I used Herters between Winchester and IMI and had to stop and run my bore snake thru before continuing fire. IMI and blazer worked best with Winchester a close third. We had 3 FTF from first 2 boxes but with second shot capability fired on second try, Bad primers? No jams are misfires to report until after using Herters ammo and fouling from use, which was easily cleaned with bore snake, 6 misffeeds until cleaned then back to reg. operation which was awesome! I cannot recommend Herters after my experience but it will work as long as you keep cleaning your weapon! Weapon worked flawlessly so am very pleased with Taurus design and function at 25, 15 and 7 yd. range everything within circle no matter slow or rapid fire, NICE! I paid more for mine than advertised price so grab one and get a better deal while you can because nothing else even comes close to this little pt 111 performance at this price point. Enjoy! more

    Very Impressed with this
I'm no stranger to hand guns but not as experienced as many. I do own several and just picked this up this week. Went to the range yesterday and ran 400 rounds through it. After reading some reviews then watching HICKOK4...5 shoot it on YouTube I made up my mind and picked it up. It shoots extremely smooth, cycles very well, of course 9mm doesn't have a lot of recoil but 2nd shot acquisition was immediate. I started at 7 yds., went to 15, 25 then all the way to the end of the lane and was consistently within my 8" circle and that's out of the box. They are really not a pair but they are brothers. First I bought the 9mm version. No issues at all. Then I bought the big brother .40 cal and guess what? No issues! I have put at least 500 rounds through the 9mm and 300+... through the .40 cal. One failure to fire on the 9mm (bad round) and none on the .40 cal. I like the 40 so much it is my EDC. The grip on the 40 may be a little aggressive for some people as it seems the texture is a little sharper and does dig into your hand a bit. I haven't carried my S&W's since I got the 40. HIt or Miss
The PT111 is a great fitting CC gun. However, that's where my positive experience ends. My gun had an ever increasing frequency of FTE. At first the FTE would occur about 1x/50 rounds. I thought maybe it needed a break-i...n period. I have now shot between 450-500 rounds and cleaned it after each range visit. I have used Blazer, PMC, Fiocchi and Winchester FMJ and JHP 115 rounds with no difference. During my last range visit this week, the FTE occurred during almost every magazine load, sometimes 2x. It didn't matter which magazine was used. The gunsmith at the range tested it and it did the same thing. I shipped the gun back to Taurus this week and will see how well their Lifetime Warranty works out. I guess the wide range of previous reviews were accurate. more

    Here's the thing...
Ok so this is my first ever firearm purchase. I was told it was a great first gun, which i believe it is. I love how it feels in my hand, i love the added safety switch and overall it's pretty accurate too. For the money... it's a very nice gun. Unfortunately for me, the magazine release assembly broke after only going through 200 rounds. I sent it in for warranty which was painless enough but it took 8 weeks to get back. During which time i found out this is a pretty common issue with this gun. After I received it back after 8 weeks, I noticed they only sent back 1 out of the 2 magazines I sent with it. My overall experience is that I like the gun (it's my baby) but i'm not impressed with Taurus' customer service or their warranty work at all. If you choose this firearm I only hope you have a better experience with Taurus should you need it than I did. I'm not saying I would never buy this brand again, but it will not be my next one. more

The gun has excellent ergonomics, fits the hand well with sufficient girth to subdue recoil..., nice finish and fair fit, easy break down, magazines are well made but have only 2 quick look ammo holes and they are on the right side of the magazine instead of left and one can't tell how many rounds are left in the magazine, the trigger is single action only unless there is a miss-fire FTF which is incredibly rare with quality ammo. The gun would be better served having a double action trigger only and this is recognized by Professional Gun Writers as a flaw in the design being single action. The trigger has a long travel and when you get the trigger to the firing point my finger which is average in length is already bent too far back for any kind of control in rapid fire. I would not count on this firearm for self defense and that is the only reason this gun was made so I do not recommend it. more

    Excellent To Buy
I purchased this gun 2 years ago and have run approx. 800 rounds thru it. I have found this gun to be accurate, handles well in an enclosed or open range, and an affordable gun to purchase. It is compact for a 9mm, a trig...ger pull that is easy to manage and still keep this gun on target.I recall only a handful of FTF's.I feed it Hornady, Winchester and Federal with literally no issues. The one Con is that the clips are difficult to load. Very stiff (at least for my old hands). If you purchase this gun you will not be disappointed. It's excellent in my opinion. I greatly enjoy shooting this gun. more

    My Christmas Present
After researching handguns I found this model to be a good buy for the money. Just before Christmas it was on sale and with my Cabelas points and other discounts (fill out the survey on your back ground receipt while wai...ting for additional $20 off) I have only shot it once and it worked as expected. I do think I need to adjust the sights but my buddy shot it and said it was right on for him. more

Awesome Taurus PT111 Millennium Pro G2
Fantastic gun. Taurus is revamping their image and it is clear with this gun. If I had extra money I would buy their stock. They have improved the looks AND functionality of their guns. I think all the negative reviews o...f the PT111 must have been from an older model. I have always been a Glock person but this gun feels better in your hand than a Glock. And the price is half of a Glock. more

    Excellent CCW
The Taurus PT11 Millennium Pro G2 is a quality handgun that looks good, is well-made, and handles great at the range. It is light but still sturdy and heavy enough to minimize any serious recoil. This allowed rapid fire ...with quick on-target recovery after each shot. It is accurate with good groupings at 7, 15, and 25 yds. I experienced no misfires or jams after going through 200 rounds. The long pull on the trigger does take a little time to get used to. But once the trigger pull is comfortable, you will have full confidence in its reliable response. I have three other handguns, but the Taurus PT111 is now my CCW of choice. more

    Fourth Taurus Firearm
This is the fourth Taurus firearm that I have owned. It is the second Taurus G2 & the first .40 S&W handgun. My Taurus handguns have performed as expected 98% of the time. And 100% of the time after I stopped usi...ng the brand Tul-Ammo. The Workmanship for the price cannot be beat. I have not used the product warranty as yet as I have only owned & used a Taurus handgun since 1985. The pt140 was purchased from Cabela's in League City, TX & they could not have been more helpful in completing the purchase. 5 out of 5 for the firearm & Cabela's employees. more

Great Pistol - One Bad Clip
This is a fine shooter and the grip is very comfortable for me. I have medium to large hands. It is very easy to break down and put back together. For some reason I shoot low and to the left on targets but that could jus...t be me. I have adjusted the rear sight several times and still can't get it on target. Again thats probably my crooked eye and hopefully not the gun. I really love that a gun this size can hold 12 rounds. Best Bang For the Buck
I had heard complaints about this gun having jam issues but I figured for this price point, I can at least try it out. The first thing I noticed was all of the safety features. (safety latch, trigger guard, key lock and ...a camber indicator if a round is primed). The next thing I noticed was how comfortable the grip was especially with the extended lip on the clip for the pinky. I've fired about 500 FMJ round and 50 HPJ rounds and had no problems. This is my primary CCW hands down. I have 4 handguns and this is my go to weapon of choice. more

    Great gun for the money
I bought this for my wife's EDC because my LC9 is just too snappy for her and the trigger on the LC9 is awful. Today, I took it to the range and wow, was I surprised. I've been having a hard time grouping with my LC9, bu...t I got a 3" group out of her PT111 with ease. 100 rounds went by in no time because it's just so easy and fun to shoot. Had to send back to be fixed day after I bought it
The day that I bought the gun the mag release fell out. I called Taurus and they were extremely helpful! They had no issue fixing it and paying for shipping both ways since I never even had a chance to shoot it. I will h...ave to wait to get it back to give a review on the function but the customer service was the best I have ever had for any product. I did some looking around on the internet to see if this was a common problem and couldn't find anything so I'm hoping this was just my bad luck. Great pistol for this price point!
I got mine for a truck/walkabout gun and this is a nice shooter. After dry firing it some the trigger has smoothed up a lot - not a 1911 trigger - but a decent striker fire trigger. Very dependable - has shot everything ...I've loaded in the magazines pretty accurately. No hick-ups at all. Twelve rounds on a compact & fairly light pistol - seem to carry it a lot more than I thought I would - VERY pleased with this firearm. Cabela's Fort Mill, SC store is Great! more

    My New Favorite!!
I own many guns. I am also a former LEO so I have been around firearms all my adult life. I read all of the reviews on this weapon from many many sites. I watched numerous videos on YouTube regarding this weapon. I was i...ntrigued at first wanting to see one up close and even shoot one for myself. Last week, I went to Cabelas just to look around and walked out with this weapon. From the moment I picked it up and felt the quality, I questioned how it could be so cheap. Today, I put about 400 round through it with NO FTE's or FTF's with various brands of ammo. I tried to mess with it and get it to do something wrong; it did not disappoint. The features of this weapon are something you would expect to find in a more expensive weapon. Dont listen to those who say "this is a great starter gun"; this is a great gun period. I plan on it being an EDC gun because I am that confident in its craftsmanship and features. Simply put, you cannot go wrong! I think Taurus could bump the price a few bucks and still have a winning product here. Thanks Taurus, you definitely have a winner here!!! more

Went in for a Glock but came home with a Taurus!?!
I went to Cabelas to purchase a Glock 26 but ended up purchasing a Taurus instead! I have to admit that I never thought that I would end up owning a Taurus, but I noticed that they were having a special on them and the p...rice was fantastic so the Glock will have to wait a little while. I seriously think this has to be the best value in handguns at the moment. It feels great in my hand. The grips are fantastic! This gun eats any ammo that I throw at it and seems to be quite accurate. I think that things my have changed for the better at Taurus as I would trust my life to this pistol and would have no problem using it as my EDC. It would also make a great night stand gun. I don't think you can go wrong buying one of these. The only thing that I found a little different was that the trigger pull seems real long. It only took a little while to become real comfortable with it but you may want to check that out before purchasing. Although, I doubt it would be a deal breaker. Stay safe! more

    Nice shooter
I purchased the PT111 on a strong recommendation from a Cabelas employee working the gun counter. I thought Tarus was a 2nd tier manufacturer with questionable products. I am not afraid to admit that I was wrong and the ...guy was right. It is a great little gun and quite the bargain. Quality is first class. It shoots accurately. I just put 150 rounds through it at the range and didn't have a single problem. I like it so much that I might get another one. more

    Great gun!
All I can say is what a great gun it is. I have put over 500-600 of different brands of ammo with only one jam. The gun is compact, very easy to shoot, and is one of my favorite pistols. The only thing that I have found ...wrong with this gun is the magazines wobble a bit when in the pistol. (wobbling in the magazine doesn't effect ammo feeding) It doesn't matter to me, but if it does bother you, just put a small strip of tape at the base. The gun is very easy to break down making it easy to clean. Buy the gun, you wont be disappointed. more

    Great Value
With the current mail in rebate from Taurus, this is a great value. The sights were spot on out of the box. Test fired 100 rounds with no issues. The tolerances are pretty "tight" in that there is no excessive ..."play" when the gun is cycling. The grip is excellent, the magazine release is easy to operate. The trigger pull is longer than what I'm used to but once I got used to it, it is fine. Field stripping and cleaning the gun was very straight forward. The only issue is that there are no aftermarket parts for this gun (no 10 round magazines available anywhere or night sights). Supply has not caught up with demand. more

    Taurus G2
Recently purchased this gun as a possible carry pistol to replace Bersa .380 to get a 9 mm caliber carry gun.Really glad I did. No hiccups after about 250 rounds a very accurate at 7-10 yards. Still pretty easy and accur...ate at 25 yards. My only issue with this gun has been the deep trigger pull. But after I got used to it, that isn't a problem. Has a quick trigger reset. Not a lot of recoil for such a light pistol. Love the 12-round magazines and the grips, which are perfectly aggressive. Like the sights and this pistol just melts into my hand. Had a Taurus Millennium 140 Pro, but didn't like for a couple of reasons: too light for .40 S&W recoil and magazine release button in way of my hand caused magazine to be released and fall out often. But they have fixed that problem with the G2. more
