Florida, USA. It has a spur-less hammer, and a long but smooth double action only (DAO) trigger. The "tip up" barrel is useful in that the first round may be chambered directly into the barrel, and the operator does not have to "pull back" or "rack" the slide. Retracting the slide is difficult due to the heavy spring required in this blow-back action. The grip feel of the PT22 is "fat", and fills a normal-sized hand. This width may make the PT22 difficult for some smaller handed people to hold comfortably. Taurus Pt22 Capacity
The Taurus PT22 is chambered in .22LR and feeds from a single-stack 8-round magazine. As the slide is incredibly hard to pull back manually, this gun can be breech-loaded by rotating the barrel release lever allowing the barrel to pop up to load a round directly into the chamber.

The Taurus PT22 is a semi-automatic pistol that operates on a direct-blowback action and fires from a double-action-only trigger pull. It can be built on either an aluminum or polymer frame with the polymer frames being available in different colors. It is built with a 2.75 inch barrel that is paired with iron sights that are machined directly into the slide and barrel.
Taurus Pt22 Ergonomics
The PT22 is built with right-handed controls and has a grip that fills the majority of hands surprisingly well. The amount of room in front of the trigger inside of the trigger guard is small and typically leaves the user with their finger on the trigger when in the trigger guard. With gloves on, most users won’t be able to allow the trigger to ride forward enough for it to reset. Also, the trigger pull is long and incredibly heavy.

The Taurus PT22 measures 5.25 inches long, 4.3 inches tall and 1.3 inches wide meaning it can fit just about anywhere on your person. Its wide cross-section can cause a visible bulge, so loose attire and proper placement are made more important for this pistol. With a proper holster, this gun can easily be carried in a pocket, hand bag or just about anywhere.
