The M9-A1 has better sights, a lower rail, a flared and coated magazine well and, checkered grip on front and back strap grip. All these are improvements from the M9

It is a Beretta built like a tank. I have the M9 and 92s and and they are solid & great craftmanship. The 22 version should not be any different. hope this helps
