This is such a nice firearm, except I don't love the trigger. Accurate, comfortable to hold and shoot, runs flawlessly, they're so much good things to say that I would run out of space to put it. I simply think the trigger needs a little refining to be a perfect or if the box gun. It's only close competition are guns like the vp9 no stock Glock would be in it's league for sure. ...more
First off I'm just going to tell you that you will hate those 24 round mags... at least for the first few loadings. rnrnWell where to start on this pistol? Certainly its not a bad pistol, but its not a great pistol. In my own MHS trials where I pitted it against the Sig M-17 and Glock 19X it came in last. Not that that's bad. The pistol certain checks the boxes that it looks good, its comfortable to shoot, its reliable, and has an excellent feature set.rnrnIt's really hard to form an opinion on this pistol, as its not anywhere close to being terrible, and some places it really shines (Optic readiness), but in others it's quite mediocre (trigger). I think the problem is I'm just not sure it's price is justified by it's performance, which wasn't bad, but paled significantly compared to others. ...more
NEVER EVER USE THEIR FINANCE PLAN!!!!! It’s a company out of California that is there to screw you completly over! If you’re are not able to pay it off in the amount of days off you chose then their interest sky rockets!!! I paid mine off prior to that problem but wanted to help someone out, let’s say you pay 2k, you will pay like 6k in interest with this company!!! Other than that, I love this gun and buds delivered again!!! ...more

Absolutely wonderful and a pleasure doing business with Budsgunshop.com. The gun was brand new and a lot less expensive than retail or local gunshops. The description and photos were incredibly accurate, they had a long list of gun brokers I could choose from in my immediate area where I live. The processing and shipping speed were incredibly fast. I will most definitely be using Buds again in the future! ...more
Gave my bro an FN 509 last year for Xmas and it is a solid gun, he could’ve picked anything in the price range and he opted to do something different and also for the full ambi controls so I can enjoy shooting it too. We put lots of rounds through it and it has worked everytime. It’s an excellent under rated gun.
Traded my fns9 for the 509.I thought my fns9 shot good, but this surpasses it on recoil and handling.Good crisp trigger break short reset and no malfunctions in over 250 rds. Of fmj and hp.I got the one in fde with night sights and 3 mags.I have 2 m&p 2.0's aSig P220,and an xdm 45 compact.I like this pistol over all the others.Very controllable shooting fast.Highly recommend. ...more

Thumb safety
Hi James, FN Herstal says this offered in a "Non Manual Safety" Configuration. I have not been able to locate one "Manual Safety" FN 509. i have come across one website that says "With or Without Manual Safety". (enforcetac.com/en/ausstellerprodukte/enfor18/product-9948423/fn-509-handgun-with-manual-safety) ---- I would contact FN directly to verify whether or not a "Manual Safety" version is even available at Phone: 703-288-3500
