The Marlin Model 1891 is a lever-action rimfire rifle introduced by Marlin Firearms in 1891 and produced until approximately 1897. It represents the company's first .22-caliber repeating rifle and is recognized as the first Marlin lever-action designed to accept .22 Short, Long, and Long Rifle cartridges interchangeably. Additional offerings included .32 rimfire and .32 centerfire variants. Notably, early “first variation” models featured a distinctive side-loading gate and a shortened magazine tube, with only about 5,000 manufactured.
