11/06/2019 I received my Mossberg JM Pro 930 Friday last week. I have not had a chance go to the range yet, but I live in the county where shooting a few rounds is ok. So, I let it rip, well quess what, it would no load about every third round. I called Mossberg and they said I need to find ammo that the gun likes. Well not what I wanted to hear. So next day trying some new slugs Winchester 1Oz. Same thing happened. Called again, they told me I need to use 1and 1/4 OZ.....rnWell I am off to the store to buy ammo, I will see what happens, but I am thinking from what i see on YOUTUBE that they have lots of issues with this gun. ...more

The first thing that came to mind when I picked up mine from my transferring FFL was “blunderbus.” It is a modern day blunderbus. The entire firearm feels rough. Not unrefined rough, but rather sort of gritty rough like pumice soap. From the polymer stock, steel barrel, to the alloy receiver, the firearm feels as though it would be easy to manipulate even with sweaty or wet hands. The only smooth component is the trigger. During takedown i also noticed that the gas piston was very smooth and black and its finish reminded me of my glocks. Forend has the typical 930 slop. The camo pattern is a nice touch. The sawtooth cuts on the breecher are rather sharp. All in all, good purchase. ...more

This is a fantastic shotgun. Very soft shooting, especially for a 12 gauge. It does everything you want a semi auto shotgun to do. I had a couple of shells fail to feed but after shooting about 20 rounds thru it never a hiccup since. Mossberg simply makes great affordable shotguns and the 930 is another fine example. I now own their Ultimag pump and the 930 autoloader. ...more

There is a problem with this gun, and with Mossberg. First let me say that I love this gun. It is great looking and handles like a dream. I did a lot of research before I went with this relatively new gun designed specifically for clay shooting. One of my key requirements was low recoil (bad neck). I shoot better than ever with this beauty. I've gone from a 70% skeet shooter to an 80s (Been shooting skeet once a week for 1 1/2 years.). An over/under friend asked to try it. He shot a 24/25 his first round. He went home and ordered one. Now, here is the problem: after firing about 250-300 Winchester AA #8s the forearm retainer wears down to a flat surface. It is made of plastic, or some poly material. This causes the forearm to come lose after each shot. This in turn causes the barrel to come lose. IMPORTANT... the very same thing is happening to my friends gun. I have replaced the retainer 4 times. And now for Mossberg. I have called their customer service and emailed them to advise them of what is happening. I suggest it is probably a safety issue with the barrel coming lose. Result... I'm talking to the wind. They have ignored the problem saying they have never heard of such a thing and implying I was either nuts, or making it up. IMPORTANT: They told my friend the same thing. Said they never heard of the problem. I talked to 2-3 different people in customer service and supposedly in engineering. I sent them pictures of a warn retainer next to a new one showing the problem. The only involvement they are happy to have is selling me replacement retainers!!! Not sure what this should mean to readers. Again I, and my friend, absolutely love this gun. It shoots like a dream and looks great. And the price from Bud's... fantastic. I just wish Mossberg would stand behind their gun, and with a possible safety issue. (p.s., If anyone at Bud's can help us, please do. If anyone at Bud's can escalate the problems, technical and customer service, to a higher level, like to their HQ, please do.) ...more

Sling mounts?

(Unknown) 1 year ago

Hi Michael, this newer model 930 Field comes standard with the "Sling Mounts". Some vendors use the older stock photos of the 930 without the sling mounts.
