See DealThe Remington Model 7400 is a semi-automatic hunting rifle introduced in 1981 as the successor to the Model 740, designed with a gas-metered operating system that adapts to varying load pressures. It utilizes a 4-round detachable box magazine (4 + 1 capacity) and is chambered in several centerfire calibers including .243 Winchester, .270 Winchester, .280 Remington, .30-06 Springfield, .308 Winchester, and .35 Whelen, among others. Standard models feature a 22-inch barrel, adjustable iron sights, and a receiver drilled and tapped for scope

mounting. In 1988, Remington introduced a Carbine version with an 18-inch barrel for more compact handling. Over its production life, variants like the Special Purpose, Synthetic, and Weathermaster models were also offered, featuring non-reflective finishes, synthetic stocks, or weather-resistant components.
The 7400 is praised for its balanced handling and accurate performance with factory ammunition many shooters report groups of 2–3 inches at 100 yards from a stable rest. However, like many semi-automatic rifles, its reliability is sensitive to ammunition choice and maintenance of the gas system.REMINGTON 7400 For Sale
